Chapter 11 Girls Mated to Royalty

Maya’s POV

Conal left after the conversation about me being a hybrid. I can’t believe I really could be a hybrid.

I take my makeup off and hop in the shower mulling over my thoughts. Since the conversation with our mate, Jade has been silent. She won’t confirm nor deny that we are a hybrid.

There’s so much to think about now. I went from being the princess of one of the strongest packs in the kingdom to the bastard child of the Alpha of one of the strongest packs in the kingdom. I wonder who my real parent is and who I am a burden to? My brother isn’t even my blood brother. I sigh there’s so much that has been lied to me about and I need to figure out the truth.

I wonder if Conal will take me back with him so I can get away from all of the people who lied to me. I hope he will. The only person I truly know is my friend and can be trusted is Alice. We are going to be the Luna and Beta female of the Royal Kingdom. The Moon Goddess really did a great job at match making this time around. Two best friends mated to the Royals. We will be inseparable throughout our entire reign.

I hop out of the shower and dry off. I don’t bother to put any clothes on. I will be staying in my room. I can't face all of the people that have lied to me. I was lied to practically every day. There is no way I'm going to forgive them for keeping me in the dark for eighteen years.

I grab the tv remote and climb into bed. I pull the cover up to my chin and I scroll through netflix trying to find something good to watch. I settled on a show about training dogs. I am quickly immersed in the show, and I don’t hear anyone come in until Alice jumps on the bed.

I nearly flew six feet in the air.

“What the f**k Alice?!?!” I yell.

She laughs at me and lays down on the bed beside me.

“How’d it go with your mate? Reese told me you're the king’s mate.” She said,

With a sigh, I turn toward her and just sit there and say nothing.

“That's good huh? Did he reject you?” She asks with a worried expression on her face.

I shake my head and still say nothing. She leans in closer and wraps her arms around me.

“Talk to me. What happened? What did he do to you? I’ll beat him up! I don’t care that he is the king. I am a part of his family now so I can ream his a**.” She is nearly yelling right next to my ear.

“No, Alice. It’s not what he did to me. It’s more like all of the things other people did to me. For being the king, he’s actually really sweet.”I tell her.

“What do you mean ‘the things other people did to you?’” She asks me, narrowing her eyes. I know that if I don’t tell her what's going on then she will storm into the king’s room and ask him for herself.

“Promise me that what I tell you next will stay a secret.” I tell her trying to convey how serious the situation is and that it needs to be kept a secret.

“Girl, you're my best friend. We have kept secrets with each other since we were babies. Why don’t you trust me?” She asks.

“I do trust you! It's just, this needs to be kept a secret. Like no one can know. The only people that know are me, Conal and you. It’s life or death.” I told her.

“I promise I will keep it a secret. Now spill.” She demands.

“My wolf told me that I can’t shift until the full moon in two weeks. If I did it before then, it would kill me much the same as it would kill any normal wolf.” I say before she interrupts me.

“Normal wolf? Maya, you are a normal wolf.” She says.

“Let me finish.” I say.

She responds with a nod of her head.

“I explained to Conal the same thing I did to you just now. He told me the only reason why my wolf would tell me that is if I were a hybrid. He said I would have to either be a witch/wolf hybrid or a fey/wolf hybrid. I don’t know which and my wolf won’t confirm or deny it.” I tell her and then stop talking.

She surveys me for a few minutes just looking at me.

“How’d he know so much about hybrids?” She asks me.

“He said that the entire royal family goes through an education course about hybrids. Being the leader of the species, he needs to know every detail about the races that live among us.” I told her. “Do you think any less of me as a friend for being a Hybrid?” I ask her.

“You b***h! One! We don’t even know what you are until you shift. Two! We have been friends our entire lives. I don’t care what you are as long as you don’t change.” She says.

I let out the breath I was holding. It's good to know my best friend doesn’t think of me any different just because I may not be a wolf.

“So, spill the beans on how it's going with your mate!” I tell Alice.

She blushes.

“We haven’t really done much. Our date yesterday was fantastic, but we haven’t slept together yet. How is it going with Conal? Any sexy time yet?” she asks, wiggling her eyebrows at me.

I laugh.

“No, the most we got to know each other is when we had the conversation about me being a hybrid. I haven’t had the chance to really talk to him at all after that.” I told her.

“You should jump him!” Alice says laughing.

“Yeah! Like that's gonna work! He's the strongest wolf in the entire country.”

“You never know! He might let it slide if he wants it enough!” She says.

We both erupt into giggles and fall asleep in my bed side by side.

Conal’s POV

After I leave my beautiful mate in her bed, I go back to my room and I mindlink Topaz and Reese to meet me there.

As soon as I arrive, I see both of my best friends waiting in my bedroom.

“Congrats on finding our queen!” Topaz says while walking to give me a hug. We embrace tightly and Reese gets off the bed and comes to tackle us all to the ground. My man always knows how to lighten up the mood.

Once we all are on our feet again, I motion to the bed for them both to sit down.

“I have found our queen. The next words that come out of my mouth are going to stay between us. Understand?” I tell them fully again.

“Understand!” they both say in union.

“The Queen is a hybrid. I don’t know what kind of hybrid,but she is a hybrid. We will be taking her home the day after tomorrow so she can still participate in her graduation ceremony. She will shift during the full moon and we need to be prepared.” I tell them.

“The queen is a hybrid?” Reese asks.

“Yes.” I say.

“That means that she is not truly of the Matthews Alpha bloodline.” Topaz says.

“We don’t know that. She could be her fathers daughter or her mothers daughter. I will inquire about it after her shift. Right now, we don’t need someone trying to sabotage her shift.” I tell them.

“What do you mean savatage?” Reese asks.

“If someone finds out what kind of hybrid she is before she shifts, and she ends up being half fey. They will try to kill her. You both know about the war and what will happen.” I tell them. “Do what you need to in the next two weeks to protect the queen. You two are now her personal guard until she shifts. You will stay with her at all times taking shifts to give the other time to rest.” I tell them.

They both stand up and salute me. “Moon Goddess please keep my queen safe.” I pray.

The War 1,000 years ago

There was a time in which every single supernatural and human shared the territories throughout the entire world. Anyone could cross anywhere. King’s and Queen’s of every species owned land, but could not stop anyone else from crossing over it. Imagine it as one big alliance throughout the entire country.

One night during a blizzard in the middle of December, the vampire species gathered together along with a few chosen ones from other species. They attacked the fairies.

You see, many people believe the fairies are an otherworldly species. They live for thousands of years, never aging, gaining wisdom and unfair advantages throughout their lives. Many species are terrified of the race and a select few want to see their downfall.

The king of fairies has been alive since before the very first werewolf. Some believe fairies were the first supernatural creatures to survive on earth. They have been alive to watch through every rise and fall of power through the entire world. When things out here got tough, the king created a portal to a different realm. A realm in which the fairy race could enter and survive when earth was at war.

The only way a species other than the fairy could get into their realm is on a very specific night each month when the moon hits the water at exactly midnight. Each major ocean in the world has the ability to grant access to the fey realm.

This realm is full of unknown creatures and beauty. Very few outside of the fey have seen the realm and after the war no others will.

The war was started through a group of vampires that had the idea they would rule the entire world if the fey and their realm was gone from existence. So, on one retched night in the middle of a cold December blizzard an entire army from around the world stormed the fey realm. They entered from every ocean in the world bringing warriors to fight. The goal was to bring the downfall of the fairies.

The battle that started that night raged on for weeks, maybe months even. The fairies having powerful magic on their side did not give up. As the war raged on, Many warriors from both sides of the fight were lost. Their names never to be remembered after what they had done. Lost to a war that would never be won.

One night, the king of all fairies decided he was done. He used much power to cast a spell of powerful magic on the land. The spell casted everyone without fey blood back into the earthly realm, cutting them off from the fairies entirely. After the King knew everyone was out. He sealed every entrance to the earth realm with magic. Not thinking about his people already in the earthly realm. He made it so the only people allowed in or out would be him.

After so long of pure bloodshed, the people of the fey realm did not care if anyone was let in or out. They were just happy to have their land back to themselves and their families safe.

However back in the human realm things didn’t look the same. The vampires went rampant killing any fey left in the human realm without mercy. If anyone was lucky to survive. They remained in hiding. The vampires became the enemy of every supernatural in the world. Each species created their own territories and their own rulers. No one was allowed onto each other's land unless an alliance was formed. Rogues were wolves that refused to pact. Other species all decided to live alone or in groups. From that point on everyone was segregated.

Every species hated the vampires. They began killing them whenever the chance arose. From the day the vampires decided to conspire against the fey, they also caused every other species to despise them.

The vampires made it their life long mission to track down and kill any fairy in existence. Anyone who survived was being protected by a pack or a different group who was willing to take on the vampires to protect them.

However, after so many years the numbers of fry slowly started dwindling. It’s a miracle to find a fey in the earthly realm.

Conal’s POV

“Let’s go and tell Maya the plan until her birthday. I’m sure she will have to get ready for her graduation party soon.” I tell Topaz and Reese.

We make our way to Maya’s room. I knock on the door but there is no answer. I continue to knock, waiting for someone to answer the door, but after the minutes of trying to drag on, I become worried.

What if someone kidnapped my queen? I try to mind linking her to no avail. I pound on the door one last time with no answer so I make a decision… I break the door down…

I am shocked with what my eyes see when I reach the other side. On the bed, Maya and Alice are cuddling together. Maya is naked!

A furious growl erupts from my chest. My mate! My mate is laying in bed with another woman without clothes!

Reese next to me looks utterly shocked, and Topaz just has a sly grin on her face.

Could my mate really have cheated on me the same night we found each other? I thought things between us were going well…

Topaz brushes past me and shakes the girls awake. I brace myself to reject her. I never wanted to reject my mate, but she may have not given me a choice. I can’t look past infidelity.

Both girls pop their heads up groggily rubbing their eyes and yawning. In the process, the blanket falls off of Maya from the chest down. Now her entire front is uncovered!

Another growl tears through me. How dare she disrespect me in front of my two most trusted friends! Even though they both have mates I don’t want anyone to see her body but me!

Topaz giggles in the background and Reese looks stunned. He hasn’t even seen his own mate naked, and now he has seen mine!
