Chapter 14

Maya’s POV

Conal sits on my bed watching me while I pack all of my clothes and other belongings into suitcases. It takes a few hours but I finally finish. I was told Alice was sent to pack all of her stuff as well.

I go into the bathroom to take one last shower in my childhood home and get ready for the day. When I come out Conal is still sitting on the bed playing on his phone. When he senses my presence, he looks at me and pats his lap. I reluctantly went to him and sat on his lap. I feel like a child on someone’s lap, but if it pleases him I can deal with it.

“Can I ask you a question?” He asks me, looking nervous.

“Shoot.” I said.

“How do you not have a hangover?” He asks with his eyes wide.

I burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter.

“Let’s just say me and Alice like to party a lot.” I tell him with a huge smile on my face.

I don’t get a reaction from him.

“Can I ask another question?” He asks all seriously now.

“Sure.” I say.

“It’s a male wolf thing Maya. They like to know the things they claim as theirs are truly all theirs. He wouldn’t have thought less of you per say but it makes him feel better to know you in every way and you will only share certain things with him.” Jade explains.

I take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

“Hasn't that always been your reason for saving yourself anyway? You wanted to share it only with your soulmate?” Jade questions.

“As much as I like doing this with you, Reese and I planned to take you and Alice to a brunch before we left today. If we don’t hurry we will be late.” He says.

I fake pout at him before I agree.

We both stand up and grab a few bags before making our way downstairs.

“I’ll have someone grab the rest of them later.” Conal says.

I nod in a response. I truly don’t care if my stuff gets moved. I won’t ever be coming back to a place where everyone lied to me.

We meet up with Reese and Alice in front of the pack house. They are both sitting in a black SUV waiting for us. When Alice spots me, she immediately hops out and comes racing toward me. When she collides with me, we both fall to the ground in a big heap. Both of us are giggling uncontrollably.

Alice’s POV

Reese takes all the clothes in my closet in big handfuls and shoves them into my suitcases, hanger and all. He zips it up and moves onto another handful. I can’t help but stare at him. This is his version of packing? Oh Moon Goddess gives me strength.

I sit down on the bed and continue watching him shove my stuff into bags. He is finished with the closet after about five minutes and onto the dresser. He takes handful after handful of my undergarments and throws them into a suitcase. When there’s nothing left to throw he zips it up.

Well I guess I’m effectively packed. Might as well go take a shower.

I get off my bed and grab a few stray garments that didn’t make it into the suitcase yet. I walk into the bathroom and turn around to close the door, but my mate is standing in the way with his shirt off.

“I could use a shower.” He says before brushing past me with a wink.

I stand in the doorway frozen In place. Shower…with a man? I think to myself.

Before it even crosses my mind to kick him out, I feel a pair of hands grab me around the waist and pull me into the bathroom. I let out a squeal and then a giggle.

Strong hands pull me into a hard warm chest. I am enveloped in the scent of my mate.

“I had to help you pack fast so I could have you to myself for a few hours.” My mate purrs.

Reese’s POV

When it comes time for my mate to pack, I decide I’m going to help. The sooner we can get her packed the longer we have to spend time together and have fun.

I pull her bags down and begin stuffing them with her belongings. I don’t need to fold them. We will just be putting everything away again when we get home in a few hours.

I take all of the clothes out of her closet and put them into the suitcase with the hangers on. It will save time later.

I take the other and dry Alice off gently and help her dress in the clothes she brought in earlier. Once she’s dressed, I pick her up in a bridal style and carry her into the bedroom. I lay her down on the bed and kiss her forehead.

“I’ll be right back in love.” I say before I head into the bathroom to dry off and get dressed myself.

Alice’s POV

I lay on the bed waiting for Reese to get done in the bathroom. I can’t believe all the things that just happened in my childhood bathroom.

“What even was that?” I think to myself.

“That’s called foreplay my dear.” Sapphire explains in my head.

“He thinks he did something wrong?” I think to myself.

My heart completely melts at his words.

“Could I have gotten any luckier?” I ask him.

His eyes widen and his pupils dilate in shock.

We make it down to the cars. And there is already a black SUV waiting for us.

“Wait, what are we going to do with all of our stuff? Me and Maya have more than will fit into this vehicle.” I ask.

“Don’t worry. The extra stuff will get picked up and brought in a couple of days.” He responds.

He pulls me over to the vehicle and opens the passenger side door for me. Before I climb in I curtsy to my mate “Thank you kind sir!” I say in a mock British accent. He bows to me “My pleasure my lady.” He says in an equally as bad accent.

I hop into the vehicle and wait for Reese to get in the driver's side. When he does hop in he grabs my hand and brings it to his lips.

He lets out a chuckle. “We are gonna be waiting a couple of minutes for Conal and Maya.” He says.

When we finally see Conal and Maya appear I get out of the car and run to her. I don’t stop and we collide with each other falling to the ground in a giggling heap.
