Five oddities CHAPTER I There continues the tale of Helewen's and Hairam's journey toward the village called Framdurilibasu, as Helewen told it and Nhalfòrdon-Domenir wrote it down: The carriage transporting us proceeded on the roads and through the woods for a few days. In the process, though, at a certain point the captain of the guards realized we were going in a circle. Apparently we had lost our way. Those maps we had could not be trusted, it seemed, concerning little villages scattered across woods, hills and cultivated fields. Since we were travelling in a scarcely-populated region, there was nobody we could ask for directions.
