Moonlight

A guy is walking on empty streets. He is a bit drunk. His name is Lucas Black and he is a werewolf. He is the son of his pack's alpha, Aiden Black. Their pack is called the Moonlight pack. It got its name from the pack's very first luna, who never even got to be one. At least according to legend. Most wolves think that the name comes from the full moon's light, that shines on every inch of the pack's territory. Which one is the truth, no one knows. The Black family has always believed the legend because their ancestor had been the beta during that and following times. Blacks became alphas after the last original bloodline alpha died without any heirs. It had been his own wish for the beta to become a new alpha in that situation. Since then, Blacks have been alphas of the Moonlight pack. Each alpha is stronger than the last. Same with Lucas. He is stronger than his father and his wolf is also bigger. His case is unusual though, because he is a lot better at many things than his father, which was not like that for earlier generations. But no one can explain it, so over time, it became normal. Lucas doesn't know how to use all the advantages though. The only thing he does is drink with his friends as often as he can. They always make it a competition of who can drink the most without becoming so drunk that they can't stand or walk straight. Same thing today. Lucas had been drinking with his friends and, as usual, he won the competition. His friends had gotten so drunk that they had decided to stay in a nearby hotel, to avoid hitting any trees while running back to the pack. Lucas, however, had decided to walk around the human city, to get some fresh air. Shean, his soon to be beta, had told him to be back by the time they started heading back or he'd get his ass kicked. Lucas had promised to be back and then disappeared into the dark city streets. He had been walking for a long time up to this point. He decides to head to the hotel where the boys are staying. He turns around to start walking back but bumps into someone and as he catches them by their arm, to keep them from falling, sparks begin from his hand and travel throughout his whole body. When a woman looks up at him, Fang's voice echoes in his mind, "Mate!". Without realizing it, Lucas says the word out loud, while looking into her icy blue eyes. She says it back though and Lucas pulls her up straight and into a passionate kiss. As the kiss gets more and more heated, the woman starts pulling him backwards by his collar, without breaking the kiss. She leads him to a house not far from them and, still kissing, they go inside. She keeps pulling him until they reach a bedroom. Now she gives Lucas complete control, to do whatever he wants. He doesn't waste any time and gets both of them naked and then devours her body completely. Both him and his wolf are happy their mate is a virgin and that they can have her completely. But he doesn't claim her. He just makes love to her for most of the night, even though neither of them can see what the other looks like, because the room is so dark that even wolfvision doesn't help. When both are worn out, they fall asleep next to each other. When Lucas wakes, though, there is no trace of her or her scent. And the only thing he remembers about her is her eyes. Her beautiful, mesmerizing icy blue eyes. He tries to catch her scent by shifting into Fang but to no avail. And since he didn't mark her, he can't feel her now. He lets out a sad howl and shifts back into human form to get dressed and go back to the boys. Deciding not to tell any of them what happened, since there is no way of tracking that mysterious shewolf down. Even though it is going to be incredibly hard to hide something from his best friend and future beta. Nonetheless he is going to try and just hope that future brings his mate back to him. With such thoughts in mind, Lucas starts walking back and thankfully he doesn't see any of the boys outside, which means they are all still sleeping. He goes into the hotel, finds the room the others are crashing in and goes to bed. His dreams are haunted by those beautiful icy blue eyes and the feeling of her body against his. Her sweet smell of strawberries and vanilla ice cream, Lucas' favourite dessert. The dream is ruined when his friends wake him up. They ask where he went last night, but he keeps his answers vague. His best friend can tell that something is wrong but decides to wait until they start running back, because running always helps to ease up and Lucas usually is more approachable when running. After the boys have had breakfast, they go outside to the woods, strip and shift into their wolves. Then they start to run back and after a little bit Lucas feels his mind link opening with his best friend. "Hey dude, what happened last night? You came in almost at dawn and you stayed awake for most of the night. The others didn't notice but when you woke up, you had dried tears on your cheeks. You never cry, dude. So tell me, what the f**k happened and what do I need to do to make things better?" Lucas defenetly did not expect his best friend to notice so many things and he himself didn't know he had cried. But as said before he is not going to tell him what really happened, so he comes up with a believeble lie, "I just went out for a walk. A very long walk and I guess I was more drunk than I thought because when I got tired of walking, I decided to lay down on a bench and I think I fell asleep. When I woke up, I saw an older man walking by and he looked so much like my grandfather. It took me a bit of time to remember that he is gone. When my head was clear again, I came back and the thoughts of grandpa just filled my mind, so I couldn’t sleep. I must have dreamt of him when I finally fell asleep, so I guess that's why I cried." His best friend's wolf only nods and a little while later they reach the mansion. After transforming Lucas goes straight to his room to take a shower. Once under the running water, he lets the tears fall freely. He doesn't even know if the tears are for his mate or for his grandfather, but one thing is for certain, no one is to ever find out that he has a mate until they meet again. And when they do meet, the whole world will know how much he loves her and he is never going to let her go again.
