13 The morning came too quickly after a very awkward day yesterday. She and David had barely spoken to each other, and she’d spent most of the day upstairs hiding from the mess she’d made. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be with David. She definitely did, but they’d forced themselves on him, and she wanted him to have his choice at a better, less messy life, one she certainly didn’t have to offer.
