Luro’s POV
The backlash of trying to absorb that dark energy was so great that it rendered me motionless. It was like my entire body had frozen with a layer of concrete holding it down but from within; from within it was like my insides were burning. I wanted to scream but I couldn’t; my lips wouldn’t move. I don’t know how long I remained lying like that but every moment of existence seemed like an endless torture.
The creaking of the door distracted me from the pain momentarily. I heard some voices but the words didn’t register in my mind. They seemed to be talking about something but my head was too fuzzy to decipher their words.
