Calix’s POV Hazel’s voice was shaking with rage as she backed away from me, her eyes wild with anger. "I will NEVER go back with you!" she yelled, her chest rising and falling with every labored breath. "You and your brothers are heartless monsters, Calix! You don’t deserve anything good, not after what you did to me!" Her words cut deep, deeper than I expected. A sharp sting of guilt tried to claw its way through me, but I shoved it down.
