Calix’s POV
Hazel’s voice was shaking with rage as she backed away from me, her eyes wild with anger. "I will NEVER go back with you!" she yelled, her chest rising and falling with every labored breath. "You and your brothers are heartless monsters, Calix! You don’t deserve anything good, not after what you did to me!"
Her words cut deep, deeper than I expected. A sharp sting of guilt tried to claw its way through me, but I shoved it down. There was no room for remorse here. She needed to understand that she couldn’t just run away. Not from me. Not from us.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about, Hazel.” My voice was a low growl as I stepped closer, towering over her. "You think running away is going to solve anything? You think you can just walk away from this?"
