CHAPTER 8:

BUMABA SI XENON SA EROPLANO. Kararating palang nya sa Las Vegas at ang unang bumungad sa kanya ay ang mga bodyguard nya na nakapalibot sa airport.

Sumakay sya sa kotse na nakaparada sa gilid. Sinuot nya ang seat belt at pumikit.

Pagkaraan ng ilang sandali ay naramdaman nyang tumigil na ang sasakyan.

"We're here Master." Saad ng driver.

Bumaba sya sa sasakyan at tiningnan ang malaking gate na nasa harapan nya.

Bumukas ang gate at nakita nya ang mga butlers na nakahanay at nakayuko.

"Welcome back, Master." Bati nila. Hindi nya ito pinansin at pumasok sa bahay nya--or more like, mansion.

At gaya sa labas, nakahanay din ang mga maid at nakayukong bumati sa kanya.

"Welcome home, Master!" Sabay-sabay nilang bati.

"The usual." Malamig nyang sabi. Yumuko ang maid at umalis.

Dumeretso sya sa kanyang kwarto at inilapag ang suit case na kanina nya pa dala-dala.

Hinubad nya ang necktie at humiga sa king size bed. Ipinatong nya ang kaliwang braso sa noo at pumikit.

He misses Myracle already but he must endure it for a while. His mission is important.

Thinking that, he stand up and go to the bathroom. He don't feel like standing in the shower, so, he prepared the bathtub.

He soak his body in the bathtub and relax his mind. There's so many things in his mind lately and he just want to relax but not before he confirm that the four family is here in Las Vegas.

With so much to think, he didn't notice that he fall asleep in the bathtub. He wake up because of a knock on the door.

"Master, it's ready."

Umalis sya sa bath tub at kinuha ang tuwalya na nakasabit sa pintuan. Pinunasan nya ang buhok nya at katawan. Pagkatapos ay lumabas sya at pumunta sa closet.

Kumuha sya ng kulay black na suit at ipinares nya dito ang kulay blue na necktie. He look at in the mirror and fix his hair.

Nang makitang presentable na ang ayos nya ay kinuha nya ang suit case na dala nya kanina at bumaba.

Pagdating nya sa living room ay nakita nya ang isa pang suit case na pinahanda nya. Binuksan nya ito at napangisi ng makita ang laman ng suit case.

"Take care of this." He said and give the suitcase he's holding to the maid who's currently beside at him.

"Yes Master." Magalang na sabi ng maid at umalis.

Lumabas sya sa bahay nya at pumunta sa garahe. Sumakay sya sa kotse at sinuot ang seat belt.

Nang makarating sa gate ay pinagbuksan sya ng guard. He open the window of his car.

"Take care of this house." Ani nya at isinarado ang binatana ng kotse.

Nagmaneho sya hanggang makarating sa Casino. Tiningnan nya ang napakalaking building sa harapan nya at ngumisi.

Inalis nya ang seat belt, kinuha ang suitcase sa gilid nya at lumabas sa kotse.

Pagkarating nya sa pintuan ay hinarang sya ng guard at chineck.

"Clear. You can go in." Sabi ng guard.

Pumasok sya at bumungad sa kanya ang maraming tao na nagtatawanan.

"Here's the wine sir!" sabi ng waiter. He just shrugged.

"No thanks." He said.

Habang naglalakad ay nakasalubong nya ang isa sa myembro ng yakuza. Si Mr. Hive. Nginitian sya nito at kumaway.

"Hey young man! Long time no see." Bati ni Mr. Hive. Ngumiti rin si Xenon.

"What are you doing here old man?" Xenon said. Tumawa si Mr. Hive sa paraan ng pagkakasalita ni Xenon.

"Oh you never change young man! I'm here to have some fun. How 'bout you?" Tanong nito.

"I'm here to deal with one of the Mafia." Sumeryoso si Mr. Hive sa sinabi ni Xenon.

"A mafia? How come?" Nagtatakang saad ni Mr. Hive.

"Yes. Apparently, that mafia knows about something. And I'm here to confirm it." Sabi ni Xenon.

"Oh well. Then, good luck with that young man! I just wish that this Mafia you're talking about have a good heart. See ya'." Paalam ni Mr. Hive.

Everyone knows that a yakuza is a heartless organization who killed thousand of innocent people. It's true but not all yakuza's are heartless.

A yakuza organization' Mr. Hive belong to is somewhat like a police but yakuza have a stricter rules than a police.

Other yakuza organization is different. Some group only want peace and they catch people with a bad intension and some yakuza organization is really heartless and ruthless who know nothing but to kill innocent people.

It's similar to a Mafia organization. But yakuza operate more or less unlike Mafia. Yakuza also consider themselves as a protector of outcasts and keepers of order.

Well, enough information.

Naglakad si Xenon at tumungo sa gilid kung saan ay may nakaitim na lalaking naghihintay sa kanya.

"Sorry for waiting Mr. Pavlov. Shall we start now?" He coldly said.

The man smiled at him. "It's okay. Let's start."

Binalasa nito ang baraha na hawak. "How much is the bet?" Tanong nya.

"50 million." Saad ni Mr. Pavlov

"Let's make a deal." Saad ni Xenon. He want to get over it as fast as he could.

Tumaas ang tingin ng lalaki sa kanya. "Inside of this suitcase.." saad ni Xenon at inilapag sa lamesa ang suitcase na hawak nya. " is 500 million pesos. Let's make it a one game. If you win, you will receive a 500 million pesos from me and you can do whatever you want to me and if I win, I will ask you a 3 question and you must answer it. Deal?" Sabi nya.

"Deal." Nakangising sabi ng lalaki. And then, they start to play poker.

Xenon watch the moves of the man and silently smirk. It's obvious that he's cheating. The way Mr. Pavlov move and shuffle the card is like a child's play.

"Let's play." Sabi ng lalaki.

Nagsimulang humawak ang dalawa sa kani-kanilang baraha. Nang makita ni Xenon ang numero ay kumuha sya ng isang baraha sa nakataob na baraha.

Ngumisi ang lalaki at nagtanong. "Good?"

Tumango si Xenon kaya inilapag ni Mr. Pavlov ang baraha na hawak. "Sorry boy, but it seems like I win." Nakangising sabi nito.

Tiningnan ni Xenon ang baraha na inilapag nito. It's a full house. But Xenon smirk only and place his cards in the desk.

"Sadly, no you didn't." He said. Nakita nya kung paano lumaki ang mga mata ng lalaking kaharap nya at hindi makapaniwalang tiningnan sya.

"R-ro-royal .." ngumisi si Xenon. " straight f-flush? What the hell? It's impossible." Asik ng lalaki.

"Y-you're cheating." Sigaw ng lalaki na nakakuha ng atensiyon ng iba.

"No, I didn't. You cheated." Xenon said coolly.

"B-but it's impossible." Bulalas ng lalaki.

"---and it happened. Now, answer my question." Seryosong tiningnan ito ni Xenon.

"First, are you working for the five families?" Lumaki ang mga mata ng lalaki.

"H-how did you know about them?" Tanong nito but Xenon glared at him.

Napalunok ang lalaki. "I-i already quit." He stutter.

"Second, is the Five Families here in Las Vegas?" Tanong nya. Umiwas ng tingin ang lalaki.

"Y-yes."

Napangisi si Xenon. Bingo! He's lying. So, the Five Families have a possibilities of staying in the Philippines.

"Last question, is the Genovese Family are really missing?" Xenon ask.

Lumunok ang lalaki bago sumagot. "I-i don't know."

Tumayo si Xenon at kinuha ang suitcase sa lamesa. "Okay. That's all. Remember, lying comes a great price." Sabi nya at umalis.

He throw the suitcase in the back seat and sit in the driver seat. He drive towards in his house.

After minutes of driving, he finally reach his house and the guard immediately open the gate.

Ipinarada nya ang kotse sa garahe at umalis. Pumasok sya sa loob at inabot ang suitcase sa isa sa mga maid.

"Find the Lucchese Family. Tell me where they are." Utos nya.

Tumango ang maid. Akmang aakyat na sya ng tinawag sya ng guard na nakatokang magbantay sa bahay.

"Master we catch an intruder." Saad ng guard.

Xenon let out a loud breath. They never learned.

"002." He said. Tumango ang guard at umalis.

He go upstairs and open the door of his room. Pagbagsak na humiga sya at pumikit. And everything went black.

Nakasimangot na kumain si Myracle ng french fries. Isang araw palang na wala si Xenon pero namimiss na nya ito.

Isinubo nya ang huling piraso ng fries at nang kukuha pa sya uli ay wala ng tira. Mas lalong bumusangot ang mukha nya.

"Get me another fries!" Sigaw nya sa mga maid.

Maya-maya lang ay inilapag ni Aling Estella ang 5 french fries sa harap nya. "Dahan-dahan lang sa pagkain anak. Nakakarami ka na."

Kumunot ang noo ni Myracle. "Anong nakakarami? Pangalawa ko palang to ah?"

Nag-aalangang ngumiti si Aling Estella. "Ika labing anim mo na yan. Baka dumating dito Master eh mataba ka na."

Myracle look at her teary-eyed. "M-mataba na ako?"

Biglang kinabahan si Aling Estella ng makitang naluluha na si Myracle. One thing they knew about Myracle is when she start crying, it takes an hour or so to shut her up.

"H-hindi naman anak. Ang sexy mo nga eh."

Suminghot si Myracle. "T-talaga? Hindi ako mataba? Sexy pa rin ako?" Parang batang sabi nya.

Aling Estella smiled. "Oo naman anak. Hala sige, kainin mo na yan at matulog ka na."

Ngumuso si Myracle. "I miss Ace. Kelan ba sya uuwi?"

"Hindi ko alam eh. Baka sa susunod na araw nandito na yun." Sabi ni Aling Estella.

Isahang isinubo ni Myracle ang laman ng isang balot na fries. "Bsaitsh kwashi kwewangan nya pwa pushunta shon."

Napakamot ng batok si Aling Estella sa sinabi ni Myracle. "Lunukin mo muna anak ang kinakain mo bago ka magsalita."

Nilunok ni Myracle ang kinakain na fries at kinuha ang cheese sa gilid nito. Pagkatapos ay isinawsaw ni Myracle ang natitirang fries sa cheese.

"Bakit kasi kelangan nya pa pumunta doon?" She said while eating french fries with a cheese on it.

"Business trip ang alam ko dun. Baka may kailangan i-meet na mahalagang tao." Aling Estella said.

"Ganun ba?" Nalungkot si Myracle sa narinig. Baka isang linggo pa babalik si Xenon kung ganoon.

"Wag ka nang malungkot anak. Babalik rin naman yun eh. Hintay lang." Pagco-comfort ni Aling Estella.

Ngumiti si Myracle at tumango. "Sampu pa nga pong fries. Nagugutom ako eh." Ani nito at inosenteng ngumiti.

Napangiwi si Aling Estella sa narinig at napabuntong hininga. Myracle is the only person she knew who eat like a pig.

Xenon coldly look at the man he's facing. Halos hindi na makilala ang mukha nito sa dami ng sugat at pasa na natamo nito.

Nandito si Xenon sa basement ng mansion nya. Pagdating nya ay nakita nya ang mga guard na nakapalibot sa lalaki at nilalatigo ito.

The man who look like in mid-30's scream in pain when one of his guard splash a bottle of alcohol in him.

Xenon sit in the chair and watch his guard do something terrible to that man. Well, what can he do? Besides, he love watching an enemy suffer.

Nang makita nyang mawawalan na ng malay ang lalaki ay pinatigil nya ang mga guard. Tumayo sya at naglakad papunta sa lalaki at hinawakan ang panga nito.

"Tell me who sent you here." Malamig nyang sabi na nakapagpatayo ng balahibo ng lalaki.

The man didn't talk so he pressed his knife to his neck.

The man in mid 30's hissed in pain.

"H-house o-o-of t-the l-lo-lords." Nahihirapang ani ng lalaki.

Hinigpitan nya ang pagkakahawak sa panga nito at tiningnan ito ng masama. "Who?" Madiin nyang sabi.

Napadaing ang lalaki sa sakit. "M-mi-miller."

Pabalang na binitawan ni Xenon ang panga nito. One of his guard hand him a tissue. Kinuha nya ito at pinunasan sa kamay nyang nabahiran mg dugo.

"Think twice before invading my territory." Ani Xenon at walang sabing kinuha ang baril ng malapit na guard at walang pag-aalinlangang pinutok iyon sa noo ng lalaki.

"Bullseye." He said while looking at the dead body of that man and bring back the g*n to it's owner.

"Clean the mess." Utos nya sa mga guard at umalis.

Like he said, he's not a person with kind heart. For him, being kind means letting your guard down. It only works for people who have stupid brains. Your enemy---or maybe even your own friend might take advantage of you being kind.

In this cruel world, only strong people will survive. If being heartless and merciless is the only way to seek justice, then, he'd gladly do it.

Pagod na ibinagsak nya ang katawan sa kama. Tiningnan nya ang oras sa relo. It's 3:00 in the morning. He think of calling Myracle since it must be around 6:00 pm in the Philippines.

Kinuha nya ang cellphone sa drawer at akmang tatawagan si Myracle ng maalalang hindi nya pala alam ang number nito.

He throw his phone in the wall causing it to scatter into pieces. He frustratingly mess his hair.

"Damn it! Useless phone! I miss my lady." The frustration he felt leave a hole in his heart.

He misses Myracle and it's the first time he ever felt this kind of feeling. Damn! There's no doubt, he really fall hard.

Sighing, he walk downstairs and go to the kitchen. He took one glass and pour a water on it.

He drink it in one gulp. It has no taste.

Pinahiran nya ang labi at pumunta sa cellar. He has his own cellar in his house. Binuksan nya ang pintuan but not before a laser point at his head, asking for a password.

Did he say it already? Every inch of his house is high-tech. Make it his own condo or vacation house.

Matapos bumukas ang pintuan ay pumunta sya sa pinakagilid at binuksan ang aparador na naglalaman ng liquor.

Kinuha nya ang Pasión Azteca--- one of the most pricey liquor in the world. It cost $3.5 million and it is one of his favorite liquor.

He open it and smell it. He will never get tired of drinking this liquor. He drink it while walking back to his room.

Everytime he's not in the mood, he always drink either liquor or wine. He drank it til he was satisfied and before he knew it, he fall asleep while thinking Myracle.

Nagising sya kinabukasan dahil sa sakit ng ulo. That's why he hate drinking at the same time love it.

Tumayo sya at nag-inat bago pumunta ng banyo at naligo. A cold water wake his body and do his routine.

He scrub his body thoroughly and shampoo his hair. After that, he stayed in the shower to relax his body a bit and after some time, he turn the shower off.

Lumabas sya sa banyo ng hubad at kinuha ang tuwalya sa lalagyan nito na nakalimutan nyang dalhin.

Nagbihis sya pagkatapos ay bumaba. Naabutan nyang nakahanda na ang breakfast sa mesa at kakain nalang sya.

He eat silently and peacefully. Pagkatapos nyang kumain ay kinuha ng mga maid ang kinainan nya at hinugasan.

Sya naman ay lumabas at sumakay sa kotse. Pinaandar nya ito nang walang patutunguhan hanggang sa mapadpad sya sa Zion National Park.

Maraming nagkukumpulang tao sa isang direksyon at nakita nya ang ibang pulis na parang may pini-picturan.

He park his car in the side and get outside his car. Pumunta sya sa may nagkukumpulang tao at tiningnan ang ginagawa nila.

A dead body welcome his sight. He kneel down and inspect the corpse. It's a man who's probably at 20's. There's no blood in the man's clothes.

He saw a slight bruise on his neck and a mark left in his bare shoulder. He was about to hold the dead man's arm when a hand tap his shoulder.

Matalim ang tingin na tiningnan nya ang humawak sa balikat nya. "It's not appropriate to touch the victim's body young man."

It's one of the LVMPD. He was smiling but clearly annoyed by the prescence of Xenon. And Xenon knew that, he stand up and towered the metropolitan police.

"Did you already autopsy this corpse?" He coldly ask.

The metropolitan police shake his head. "No. And don't interfere in our investigation young man." metropolitan police' said.

"What is the problem here?" Singit ng isa sa LVMPD. Tiningnan ng bagong dating na lalaki si Xenon at biglang ngumiti ng malawak.

"What the hell dre? What are you doing here?" Tanong ng bagong dating na lalaki at inakbayan sya.

"Just passing when I saw a bunch of people gathering here and.." Xenon paused and glare at the man who's smiling from ear to ear. "get your fvcking arms out of my shoulder. " Asik nya.

Tumawa ang lalaki. "Oh damn! You're still the same." Ani nito at tinapik ang balikat nya.

"And you're still fvcking annoying Aries." Saad ni Xenon at inayos ang manggas nya.

The man Xenon called 'Aries' just smirk and punch his arms. "Anyway," Aries look at the man Xenon was talking to a while ago and smiled. "he's my friend Mr. Torsney. Don't worry."

Ngumiti rin ang lalaki tsaka umalis at nagsimula nang kuhanan ng picture ang biktima.

"So," Aries look at Xenon. "Anong ginagawa mo dito dude?"

"Oxhyl said that the Four Families are hiding here." Ani Xenon.

Aries hold his nape. "Damn! That Five Families is surely good at covering themselves." He said.

"Actually, only the Four Families are still active. I still don't have enough information regarding the last one." Xenon said while inspecting the corpse.

"Huh? You mean the Genovese Family? I thought they're already dead?" Takang tanong Aries.

Xenon sigh. "You're the metropolitan police here yet you also think that their death is real? Stupid."

Aries touch his chest and act like he's hurt. "Ouch! Tangina! Kahit kelan talaga ang sakit mong magsalita."

Hindi pinansin ni Xenon si Aries at pinagpatuloy ang pag inspeksyon sa bangkay. Tumayo sya at may ibinulong kay Aries.

Biglang nanlaki ang mata ni Aries sa narinig. Tiningnan nya kung nagbibiro si Xenon ngunit malamig na titig lang ang nakuha nya.

"Yeah. Sure. But how would I do that?" Takang tanong ni Aries.

Xenon look at him flatly. "Are really one of the LVMPD? You have a rusty brain out there."

Tumawa lang si Aries sa sinabi ni Xenon. Sa halos sampung taon nyang kasama si Xenon, nasanay na sya sa ugali nito.

"Alright.. alright.. I'll do it." Pagsuko nito.

"Also," Xenon added. "Autopsy this body. You might have some clue if you check his body."

Aries salute. "Yes boss."

Kinuha ni Aries ang cellphone at may tinawagan sa linya. "Hello? .. Yes this is Concepcion.. I want you to do something.. huh? I see.. ok thank you." Ibinaba ni Aries ang cellphone at tiningnan si Xenon.

"He can make it but only for 1 hour since that man has a busy schedule." Aries rolled his eyes when he said the word 'busy'.

Xenon place his right hand inside his pocket and wave at Aries. "I'll get going."

Nag drive si Xenon papunta sa bahay nya since tinatamad na syang mag drive. Deretso syang humiga sa kama at natulog. He has to rest his mind for hour before the main event.

There's no point in driving around anyway. But before he sleep, his mind was working on how to kill that bastard.

He only hope that Aries can still fit in that bastard's schedule. But he has a back up plan though, even if Aries can't do it, he will definitely catch that bastard in his lair.

With that, he sleep.

PARANG REYNA NA PUMASOK si Myracle sa loob ng AC Company. Lahat ng madaanan nyang empleyado ay yumuyuko at binabati sya but as usual, wala syang ekspresyong ipinakita.

It's been 2 days.. 2 days since she's missing Xenon and til now, she has no news of Xenon is doing in abroad.

Pagdating nya sa ORF ay binati sya ni Stevan. "Good Morning Ma'am."

Umupo si Myracle sa swivel chair at pinaikot-ikot ang ballpen sa kamay nya habang nakasandal sa swivel chair.

"What's my schedule for today?" Myracle ask.

Umiling si Stevan at ngumiti. "You have no meeting or appointment today Ma'am. In fact, a while ago, the shareholders and stakeholders come here and they want to congratulate you for well-managing our company and.." ibinigay ni Stevan ang folder na hawak nya kay Myracle. "They're also impressed that you solve our financial status."

Tiningnan ni Myracle ang folder na hawak nya na naglalaman ng rating ng financial status nila. From financial dropped to highest financial rating.

For the first time since Xenon leave, she smiled. Saglit na napatulala si Stevan ng makitang ngumiti si Myracle.

"Well, this ain't bad. Good job." Nakangiting sabi ni Myracle.

"But you're the one who solve the crisis of this company Ma'am." Stevan confusely said.

Inilapag ni Myracle ang folder na hawak nya. "Partly. This happens because of you and the employees who work hard to solve our financial problem." She said.

Tumayo sya at lumabas sa opisina. Pumasok sya sa elavator at pinindot ang first floor.

****TINNNNGGGGGGG***

Pumunta sya sa gitna at nagsalita. "Attention!" Sigaw nya.

Lahat ng employees ay napatigil sa pagtatrabaho ng sumigaw sya.

"I want to congratulate you all for doing your best to work hard and because of it, our financial problem is now solve." Nagbulong-bulungan ang mga employees sa sinabi nya.

"Since you all work hard, I'll give you a day off today. For those employees who cooperate from the financial department, I'll give you a credit once your boss is back." Nakangiti nyang sabi.

"But you're our boss Ma'am!" Sigaw ng isa sa mga employees.

"Tama! We're glad to help you Ma'am."

"Thank you Ma'am for being in charge to us! We're so glad to have you here."

Nakangiting tiningnan ni Myracle ang mga employees na masayang nag-uusap. How lucky their boss is. He have such a wonderful employees who will do everything to fulfill their roles.

"Well, that's all I want to say. Starting now is your day off. Have a good day everyone!" Sabi nya tsaka umalis at pumunta sa opisina nya.

Pagkaalis ni Myracle ay masayang nagsigawan ang mga employees. "We're so lucky today!" Sigaw ni Honelyn.

"Ang bait talaga ni Ma'am!"

"Oo nga! Di makagaya sa boss natin na parang araw-araw ay may dalaw."

"Sana si Ma'am Ella na lang ang boss natin."

"Anyway, since day off natin ngayon, bakit hindi nalang tayo mag stay dito sa company at maglaro?" Suggest ni Shiera.

"Game! Nakakatamad lumabas eh."

At lahat sila'y sumang-ayon. Si Myracle naman ay niligpit ang gamit nya at pumunta sa elavator. Pagbaba nya, nakita nya ang mga employee na nakaupo sa lapag at nakapabilog.

"Why are you all still here?" Ani nya at tiningnan ang oras sa relo.

Ngumiti sa kanya ang mga employees at sumagot. "Nakakatamad po kasi Ma'am lumabas kaya napagpasyahan namin na maglaro muna." Ani Shiera.

Tumango si Myracle. "Okay. Enjoy your day off." Sabi nya akmang bubuksan ang pintuan ng tinawag sya ng isa sa mga employees.

"Ma'am may gagawin ka po ba?" Tiningnan nya kung sino ang tumawag at umiling. Nagkatinginan ang mga employees at tumango.

"Sali ka po Ma'am saamin." Pag anyaya ni Honelyn.

Nag-isip sya ng ilang sandali bago ngumiti. Lumapit sya at umupo sa lapag.

"What are you playing?" Tanong nya. Pinakita ni Rebecca ang plastic bottle.

"Truth or dare po." Ani nito at pinaikot ang bote. But maybe, this is a bad day for Myracle. Tumapat ang bote sa kanya.

Ngumisi ang mga employees at sabay-sabay na nagtanong.

"May anak na kayo Ma'am?"

"Kailan ba naging kayo ni Boss?"

"Nag ano na po kayo ni boss?"

Nalilitong binalingan nya ang mga employees ng sabay-sabay sila magtanong. Halos hindi nya maintindihan ang mga tinatanong nito.

"Ma'am nag kiss na ba kayo ni Boss?" Bigla syang napatingin kay Shiera sa tinanong nito at namula.

Tiningnan sya ng mga employee at ngumisi. Namumulang sumagot sya.

"Let's welcome, Lord Albert Throndsen!" Sigaw ng emcee.

Masigabong palakpakan ang natanggap ni Lord Throndsen sa mga tao. Nakangiting kumaway sya sa mga tao.

Binigyan sya ng mic ng emcee. "Hello my fellow citizen. I'm glad you invite me here in your party." Nakangiting sabi ni Lord Throndsen.

Nagpatuloy sa pagsasalita si Lord Throndsen habang nakatingin naman sa malayo si Aries.

Napailing si Aries. "Damn man! I didn't expect him to be so serious about this. The way he communicate to people is really amazing." Sambit nya.

At nang magpapaalam na sana si Lord Throndsen ay lumapit si Aries at nagtanong. "Wait Lord Throndsen," sigaw ni Aries.
