Chapter 17- Stranger Things

As if my body had went into default setting, i was a robot going to my room that night. I was sitting in the window watching the snow falling when a knock at the door brought me back. Opening the door i realized it was Millie,

 "Shuga you look like you've been rode hard and put up wet! whats going on?" i shut the door gently behind her and she followed me back over to my window seat.

 " Millie, my parents planned the ball to find me a mate, but not just my true mate, they are to pick them." Millie's face blanked and she dropped her gaze to the floor, " i know that Sarah, your parents told us the night when you where knocked out. Sarah im not supposed to tell you this but you are my best friend, thats what i was going to tell you when we last talked about how you felt about Bruce, then those things happened with my brother and its just all a big mess. My brother is in love with you and so is Bruce they both are going to fight in the alpha games for you" I stood up abruptly knocking my pillows on the floor, " Millie how could you know this and not tell me! i thought we where best friends, soul sisters!" i was livid.

" GET OUT" i roared at her, the alpha command in me hit her hard as tears spilled down her cheeks and she hastily ran out the room. half of me was sad that i treated her that way the other part was furious that she didn't tell me after she knew. i mean i cried my eyes out to her about feeling like i was loosing my mind and how i felt about Bruce, i left Max out of it but somewhere along the way his brotherly way became a lovers way.

Stewing in my anger and betrayal i didn't notice Max come in until he was sitting in front of me calling my name. His touch at my cheeks had me gasping and looking up into his warm brown eyes, i immediately lunged into his embrace and started to cry into his shoulder. 

"Sshhh doll its all going to be okay" he rubbed up and down my back as he cooed in my ear. after what felt like an hour i pulled away wiping my snotty nose on my shirt tail as i looked up at him blurry eyed. He smiled reassuringly " Now that you've drowned my shirt, why don't you tell me why your crying?" i nodded and forced myself to swallow the lump in my throat.

" My parents are planning to marry me off to a stranger and Millie knew this whole time and didn't say anything. How could she do that" He looked away from me briefly as if to hide his emotions only to return his gaze "she was doing as she was ordered Sarah, you know our wolves are born to follow orders." 

i gasped in shock, "you, you knew too didn't you." i shook my head as more tears started to form. i couldn't believe he was in on it as well "Doll let me explain" i scoffed shaking my head "Why so you can make up an excuse, you both betrayed me! how could you let me be thrown into this without warning!" He put his hands on my cheeks and forced me to meet his gaze " Sarah, we were ordered not to tell anyone of the plans by Alpha king Samuel, you know we cannot go against that no matter how much we want to.

" i only nodded trying to form words as more tears slid down my cheeks. Max leaned in kissing my lips gently, "Doll, i asked for your hand as well, i will fight for you, i will win your heart and mind then claim your body as mine." i scoffed " Yeah, you and Bruce both huh" a predatory growl erupted from Max at the mention of Bruce.

 " He can try, but i will s*******r anyone that dares take you from me, Sarah im in love with you, i always have been, i meant what i said. You are my everything." I couldn't think straight between his heated gaze and passionate words, i could only nod as my reply. 

"Come lets get you to bed" Max lifted me from the window and laid me gently into my bed pulling the covers over me he kissed my lips again gently.  lifting up to leave i grabbed his hand, "will you lay with me until i fall asleep please?" i ask in a whisper, he nodded and pulled his shirt off before sliding in the bed behind me.

 Wrapping his arms around me he kissed my neck as he whispered in my ear "Goodnight Doll" i smiled and pulled his hands tighter as i nodded back "Goodnight Maxie" He chuckled and nipped my neck making me smile bigger, drifting off i was comforted by his embrace and wrapped in his citrus scent making me think of spring. Shifting beside me i slowly awoke to find i was still wrapped in Max's arms, i don't know how long i had been asleep but i did feel very rested.

 'Sadie are you happy with this situation?' IN THE ARMS OF A STRONG AFFECTIONATE MALE, I AM DEFINITELY HAPPY, HOWEVER THIS ALPHA GAMES COULD BE A GREAT THING. WE WILL GET THE STRONGEST MALE OF OUR TIME WHEN THEY BATTLE TO THE DEATH.' Wait what' i jumped sitting up at her comment ' what do you mean they fight to the death' i rolled over to find Max snoring softly beside me.

 I lay back against the blankets turning to face him, watching as his rhythmic breathing had his muscles flexing. i watched him half smile in his sleep and reached my hand up to gently slid my fingers across his cheeks then down his neck tracing the smooth skin to his chest. i lifted the blankets slightly to peer down to his rippling abs and taught v-line. i could wake up like this daily, however the darkening of my mood started when i remembered Sadie saying how the Alpha Games they fought til the death. I couldn't let Max die for me, Millie would never forgive me nor i myself if that happened. But how can i make him not fight for me, i would have to make him hate me. but how could i do that? he was one of my best friends. 

"You know its not polite to stare" his gruff voice had me snapping my eyes back to meet his. I Smiled sheepishly and traced the outline of his abs with my fingertips earning a low moan from him. "Sarah, the things you do to me cant be formed into words" His palm came to rest against my cheek as i blushed. 

"Well, if your growing anatomy cant be described then maybe it can be tasted" i moved to straddle him as i peppered his neck and chest with open mouth kisses. I trailed my tongue down to his waistline and used my palm to brush against his groin. He was already like a rock, to my surprise he arched into my hand and growled slightly. 

I smiled up at him as i pulled his waistband down just enough to brush my lips across his head. The precum stuck to my lips leaving a string as i leaned away licking my lips. He moaned as his eyes turned to black at my move.  i let his waistband go with a pop causing him to curse "f**k, seriously doll? your suck a tease" i laughed and winked as i climbed off him headed for the shower i slipped my shirt over my head leaving my navy blue lace boy shorts on display as i looked over my shoulder. Giving him a clear view of my ass as i shook my hair down my back, His growl had me shivering and Sadie giving me choice images. 

Looking back at him "I Have to get ready for school and so do you, When i get out of the shower you best be out my bed and ready to see me to breakfast!" i winked and slammed my bathroom door locking it as he tried to get in helplessly growling and knocking on the door" c**k tease, ugh let me shower with you, i promise you'll enjoy it" i stifled my laugh with my hand "Bye Bye Maxi Boy ill see you in a few" My reply had him growling again. 

"Fine be that way, paybacks a b***h and her names Karma" i laughed out loud as i heard him stomp to the door and it closing behind him all the way muttering curses im sure. 

After my nice cold shower since i had worked us both up with my images, Max was right about karma, Sadie was killing me showing me all the ways Max could have satisfied me. finally shutting her out i finished getting ready for breakfast, i mindlinked with Bruce" Good morning my sexy beast, care to escort your lady to breakfast?" 

 " Already at your door princess" Bruce replied just as a knock sounded though the room. walking to the door indeed he was standing there staring at me with his ice blue eyes captivating my soul. i sighed as he reached in to touch my cheek, a gentle kiss adorned me as he pulled away i gave a small whine in protest. 

'SARAH YOU CANT BLAME ME FOR THE HORNY ONE NOW, YOU HAD MAX IN YOUR BED AND NOW YOUR WITH BRUCE' Shush it Sadie, i cant help my desires for these two gorgeous wolves. i did feel a little ashamed and even dare i say slutty. Granted i haven't slept with them, i have enjoyed there lips and touches though. ugh aggravated at myself i chose to ignore those thoughts and looped my hand through Bruce's elbow and allowed him to guide me to breakfast. 

Walking in the kitchen multiple eyes danced our way and we continued through to make our plates. Max's eyes could have set fire to Bruce if he had been a witch, however Bruce seemed unfazed. i knew this was wrong on so many levels but i justified it by saying ' If one of them wins the alpha games i mine as well already be knowing them, maybe giving more initiative to fight harder for me. 

"Sarah," i looked up to find Izzy sitting next to Millie "How did you sleep?" she asked me. "I slept fine thanks, how about you?" She smiled happily, "wonderfully, your dad," Uh-hmm clearing her throat "I Mean the Alpha King says that he found my grandmother and i get to see her today, they are sending a car for her!" she was overjoyed, i smiled back at her and shook my head vigorously trying to mirror her excitement. 

"That;s Fantastic! are you going to introduce me to her?" Ha why of course! your my hero after all!" Multiple awes were heard around the table making me blush. 

Breakfast continued on a cheerful note with max continuously rubbing my leg with his hand. i allowed him to leave his hand there since i was extremely comfortable with it now. Millie didn't look at me once and it hurt my heart, i knew i had to apologize it wasn't her fault and i overreacted.  

After finishing i kissed my mom and dad on the cheek and headed to my suv. "Have a great day with your grandmother i hugged Izzy tight. Ill See you in a few hours" She hugged me back and i started the engine, Millie sat in the back seat again with Max upfront.

 "Max could you be a doll and drive for me today i want to relax" he jerked it head so fast to me i thought his head might pop off. "Hell yeah Doll face!" laughing at his mockery i slid into the backseat next to Millie, she remained looking at her feet. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and pulled her to me. 

" Millie im so sorry for the way i overreacted, i felt betrayed but i completely understand the alpha command, im so sorry please forgive me. I need my best friend now more than ever, my sister from another mister." her shoulders shook slightly with her laughter when she looked up at me again i knew she had accepted my apology. Feeling the engine revving i noticed we where still in the driveway, "Hey chauffeur why are we still parked! School awaits to be graced with my presence!"

Just then the passenger door swung open to Vicky jumping in the front seat. "Sorry guys i had to find my boots!" "Sure thing" i replied then max steered toward the road and onto the highway to school. 

My day had already improved even if i was still harboring my confused feelings about the Alpha games, i knew things where going to get better. I had a great feeling about how things would work out for the best just as my mother had said. I didn't realize we had made it to school until Max pulled me out of my thoughts with a kiss to my cheek.  

"Seriously guys?" Vicky rolled her eyes and looked to Millie "Get a Rooomm" They both shouted at the same time laughing as we both blushed and i hid my face in his arm. "Common doll ill walk you to our first class" i nodded through my blush following Max through the corridor. 

Having him beside me was comforting, although the looks i was receiving had me laughing, it was just a short time ago that i was ignoring them thinking how silly they were thinking i would ever be with Max. Now here i am holding onto him and he onto me strolling through school like we have been together forever.  Stopping at my locker i grabbed my books for Calculus, i knew i had a test soon but i hated the subject. i mean when would i ever use this after we graduated, i wanted to go to college to be a doctor and travel before i had to settle down to take over the throne. 

I Guess with the alpha games coming so soon my dreams would have to change, unless i got an alpha who would gladly allow me to continue on. I didnt realize i was lost in my thoughts again til the bell rang for the next class, ive got to start paying attention before i fail high school. grabbing my things i followed the mob of students rushing to get out of class, getting lost in the throng of bodies i didn't notice the door opening to the locker until i ran smack into it. 

Feeling the pain surge through my nose i stumbled back into another student, a girl i remembered seeing in class. Her papers strewed across the floor and i cursed holding my now bleeding nose. Turning my glare to the locker i was surprised that the culprit was long gone.

 ' DAMN GOOD THING OR THEY WOULD BE WISHING FOR A SWIFT DEATH' Sadie growled out as i turned my attention back to the girl i backed into. I bent down helping her pick up the papers, she paused to look up at me, her dark brown eyes full of surprise at my curtesy. 

"thank you miss" her mouse like voice squeaked out, " its my fault this mess was caused its the least i could do" i shrugged my shoulders handing her the last of the papers. i noticed the top sheet was a drawing as were the rest of the papers i had picked up. 

The top sheet seemed to be a cliff and a wolf with 3 others there, the images of me and Izzy with the two vampires in Arcadiana had me snatching the page back from her. Her hand shot out to take it back when i pulled it behind my back, "this is a very unique drawing, its beautiful really, how do you get your ideas?"  she flinched back and shifted her gaze toward the floor. "i have dreams about things, about people, places its nothing special. I just like to draw" she pulled her binder and the papers closer to her body and wouldn't meet my eyes. 

'Sadie can you pick up a scent from her' 'YEA SHE SMELLS LIKE EARTH'  Hm earth, that's odd, some witches based off of there specialty in magic will yield different elements. We haven't had a witch in our school in decades, most stay well away from other supernaturals if they can help it. looking back up at her eyes they flashed to a black color before i felt myself feeling dizzy, trying to focus i leaned against the locker and growled at her. Coming back to myself she was gone, the hall was empty and i was still in the same position leaned on the locker at least i still had the drawing. 

Great i thought just what i need another complication in my life, ill have to inform dad when i get home, we always need to make sure we keep an eye on them. Some are good witches like fairy god mothers in fairy tales but others like the dark witches cause havoc and ciaos.
