Chapter 21 Meeting the Monster

I always knew there was a reason the pack was called Shadow wolves, I was  hoping i wouldn't have to see Beta Evans anytime soon. As soon as Rogan and i made our way into the Conference room my blood started to boil, he could obviously tell my tension was rising as he gave my hand a gentle squeeze and leaned in to whisper in my ear" dont worry darling it will be over soon" i nodded and smiled in return reluctantly letting his hand go and walking to my seat across from the vile man. 

Sadie was already growling in my head at the disgusting looks he was giving, he stared at my breasts for much longer than needed after he had already stared my body down on my walk to my seat. i would love to seriously castrate this sad piece of wasted space. Choosing to ignore him as best i could, sitting next to my mother gave me a boost of security, i knew she wouldn't hesitate to kill him or anyone who messed with her pups.  My father however would infidelity torture them slowly, the thoughts easing me into comfort. 

"Thank you Ice Wolves Pack for joining us today, we will be going over a schedule on your visitation and presentation while you are here. Breakfast is at 7 am sharp daily, after that you will have a few hours to explore or whatever you desire before a lunch tea sitting at 12 pm. Following the activities of the afternoon where we will be pack training to see our strengths and get to meet a few of our pack each day. Our dinner will be set for 6 pm Sharp and will consist of a formal attire. However this weekend will be a formal ball to present our applicants for you Alpha King to approve." 

I feel like i zoned out for half of the schedule, i hope my parents will continue to inform me. this day has just begun and im ready to run for home, to think i have 2 other realms to visit after here is absolutely depressing. as if my mother could feel me zoning out " Sarah" she whispered and nudged my shoulder i looked up to find the room was now silent and staring at me.

 I cleared my throat " i am very excited to be here and to meet your pack, thank you for your consideration in my mate." i looked around hoping that would work. 

Rogan smiled at me along with a few others " Alpha King Roger if i may, i would like to request that since the male applicants are having testing for qualifications i believe the Princess should be as well"Beta Evans, ugh this pig headed...before finishing my sentences of inwardly cursing him Rogan to my surprise stood up.

" No uncle i would disagree, the princess has shown us her fighting skills already, as well as will be paraded around our realm with the others. I Strongly believe she should be allowed to be excited for her mate not have to prove her perfection any further." The room seemed to shift when he spoke so dominantly. 

' YEAH THATS KIND OF HOT' Sadie, i rolled my eyes of course she would think that. "well my son does make a valid point, Princess Sarah has most definitely showed her spunk, However i wouldn't be against her showing her strengths, we do all want a strong bloodline after all" king Roger spoke almost in a mocking tone. It was my father who stood up "Are you suggesting my daughter is not a pure blood and strong wolf?" his wolf was reflecting in his eyes. 

"oh no not at all Alpha King Samuel, i simply meant that we should  allow her to scrimmage against one of our strongest wolves, only to see her strengths" Roger calmly replied, i seriously didn't like this family well except for Regina and Rogan, i was yet to form a full opinion of Raegan yet. My father nodded and sat down with his hands still fisted and jaw set tight. my mother rubbed his arm in comfort to calm him, Rogan had his fists balled as well, i could tell that the room was starting to override with testosterone levels.

 "Alpha King Roger," i spoke up " I would be delighted to Scrimmage, however i would like to choose my opponent at the end of our stay, that way i have had a chance to evaluate all the potential of my choice." He clapped his hands " Atta girl! this will be a grand affair" he was way to excited about this i thought. 

After leaving the meeting i just wanted to punch something, that beta gets under my skin to the point i could see myself actually clawing his eyes out just to keep them off me. " hey princess wait up" i turned in the hall to find Rogan practically chasing me.

 " oh hey Rogan, sorry i just needed some air" "oh, no princess i am sorry for the way my uncle behaves, i almost would think he wants you." the grimace i gave had him holding his sides in laughter " yeah, thats what im afraid of too," i looked down and kept walking on my way towards the beach, i needed fresh air.

 "Princess i was only kidding" i nodded but kept walking, his hand on my elbow stopped me and i turned to glare at him " whoa hey im sorry i didn't mean to upset you, forgive me if i was out of line." " its fine, i need some air, ill see you later" i pulled my elbow from his grip and headed out the door. 

The sunshine on my skin warmed up my iced heart, i really felt cold and detached at the thought of that creep trying to win me. i will have to ask my father if he was allowed to enter, and if so how we could revoke him.  

i walked along the sand for another hour just trying to get my thoughts in order, i was feeling really homesick and missed Max the most. i needed his comforting arms around me, i really just wanted to be normal and choose him or Bruce as my mates, although i have no idea how i could choose between them. 

Max has always been a constant in my life, we grew up taking baths together for moons sake, i mean Millie was there too but still. He was my best friend, my brother turned to lover, i cringed thinking that. How did we go there? its like when i got closer to 18 everything shifted and changed, my thoughts my career even who i was going to be. now ill be just another Luna Queen instead of the Alpha queen im born to be.  

Then there was Bruce strong, handsome and protective, i wanted those qualities in a mate. But even with both of them or hell any of the males that want me, im not there true mate and what happens when they do find them? am i always going to have that to hold over my shoulder, that they will leave me for them or the innocent soul will be murdered because of me. 

Getting lost in my thoughts wasn't such a good idea, i didn't realize i had walked so far away from the castle now. The lights where all i could see of it, i turned and sprinted back towards it hoping that i wouldn't  get into to much trouble. 

My first night and i am already going to be late or worse miss the dinner, i was so lost in trying to rush i tripped and crashed into the back of a man walking along the beach. I hadn't seen him earlier, feeling him under me i rolled off " Im so sorry, i was rushing and wasn't paying attention to my surroundings" when he turned to face me i swear my organs all began to liquefy. 

His devilish grin had me more than on edge, Sadie jumped to the forefront of my mind. " ah ah ah princess, i knew you wanted me, this front you keep putting on is only making the chase that much more fun. Although now that we are alone, we could skip the formalities" he grabbed my waist and slid his hand behind my neck pulling me closer to him, i struggled against his grip and he tightened. 

His hand slid to my throat and he started to squeeze " now, now poppet dont be a tease, one little kiss is all i need for now, as his lips came closer to mine i struggled harder to push him away. Sadie came forward and my claws became visible as i dug into his hands, the blood dripping had him flinch but he didn't let me go. 

"Now that will really cost you" he glared at me and growled when his lips landed on mine all i could taste was ashes, it felt like battery acid was being poured on me, my body was burning in the worst way. his tongue licked my lips and i gagged in his mouth, he took that opportunity to slide his tongue into my mouth and grip my ass with his hand while the other stayed on my throat. i used as much force as i could and bit down on his tongue, blood poured into my mouth and he let me go throwing me to the ground. 

" You little b***h" he roared as he spit blood at me " i was only going to kiss you now ill take what i really want" he lunged at me and i darted to the side full speed ahead toward the castle screaming like a banshee. i mind linked my father " HEELLLPPP DADDDYYYYY" I  screamed, before i could scream anymore a force knocked me over and i rolled into the ocean. 

Panicking as the salt water entered my lungs i clawed at the sand getting a grip to resurface when my head was pushed back under the water! the bastard was trying to drown me, i clawed at his hands and kicked my feet my mind going numb with the water entering me. 

I felt myself slipping into the darkness before i could drown he jerked my head up and growled in my ear " tell anyone and ill take your sister, i shouldn't have to explain the things i could do to her" he dropped me against the bank and dissipated into the woods ahead. i looked to my left seeing light and i could hear my parents screaming my name but the water in my lungs had me coughing and i couldn't form a sentence. my father scooped me up and laid me on my side slapping my back making me cough harder. 

" Sarah, Sarah honey look at me, what happened?" i couldn't speak and only shook my head, i was so drained from fighting for my life i couldn't muster up the courage to say anything. the bastard threatened Sophie, i couldn't tell anyone or he would hurt her, my sweet feisty sisters life was now in my hands.  Curling into my father i hugged him as tight as i could and cried against his shoulder as he carried me back to the castle. 

My mother kept rubbing my arms as we walked, i could see my parents, and the guards we had brought with us along with a few other men i didn't know, i assumed they were palace guards. when my eyes met Rogan he smiled sadly at me and came closer to my father but didn't attempt to touch me. i closed my eyes as my grip tightened on my father when i heard the door open and the bastard spoke" oh thank the moon you found her, why is she soaking wet? what happened?" my father only growled at the Beta " someone from your realm attacked my daughter! i want them found and brought to me NOW!" my fathers roar had everyone shaking and fear, his wolf was out and ready for blood. i only whimpered in his arms and tightened my hold around him.  

"Sherrock honey your scaring our pup" my mothers wolf Sonya was also present trying to sooth him. He turned with me and headed to my assigned room while calling over his shoulder " i want the Alpha in my quarters immediately" 

"yes sir ill have him sent that way" Beta Evans nodded in fake concern. How can he be so calm and act so sincere when he is the one who attacked me. feeling my father let me down onto the chair he nodded for my mother to help me "Sarah sweetie lets get you out of these wet clothes" i nodded as she helped me change.

 " i want to see Soph, can she please stay with me" i asked in a scratchy voice " yes ill get her and bring you up both something to eat, here get into bed and rest" she kissed my forehead and left out the room.' 

Sadie are you there' ' IM ALWAYS HERE SARAH, ARE YOU OKAY' yeah im okay, how are you, i know you lent me your strength you must me tired too' 'ILL BE FINE YOU JUST RELAX, WE NEED TO KEEP SOPHIE IN OUR SIGHT AT ALL TIMES' i know we do, but should we tell dad?'

 'I DONT KNOW, IF YOU DO WE PUT SOPHIE AT RISK AND I CANT RISK HER LIFE'  so we need proof before we tell anyone then' Sadie only nodded at my thought. Sophie came running into the room and jumped in my lap holding me close, i hugged her as tight at i could til she gasp "Sarah you hurting me" i nodded and let her go but held her still against me. 

" Sarah, what happened? Momma says you where attacked in the ocean" i nodded but could not say anything more.  Pulling the covers around us i kept her snuggled to my body and told her her favorite story beauty and the beast. ironic i know but its her favorite, she fell asleep shortly in and i laid her next to me. i kissed her cheek and went to the bathroom, looking in the mirror after my toilet business i could see the hand prints on my neck, of course they had already started to fade but it brought back the acid feeling and i shivered. 

Leaving the bathroom light on i crawled back into bed snuggling Sophie close and whispered " i promise i wont let anything happen to you, no matter if it kills me you will be safe" i listened to her breathing but couldn't fall asleep, every time i closed my eyes his haunted me. well here comes a sleepless night i thought, knowing the guards from our pack where at the door didn't ease my worry in the slightest. i only wondered how the conversation with Roger went, finally allowing my mind to ease i fell asleep.
