Chapter 20- Breathtaking moments

Passing through the large oak doors, an extravagance of white walls, marble floors and black accents such as the railing on the stairway had my mouth dropped open in awe. this place made ours look like an old country home, i couldn't believe the elegance around me. i spun around in a circle taking in the view, even Sophie was speechless, i tapped her chin and giggled as she actually whipped drool from her lower lip. 

" Welcome to the Shadow Pack, Ice wolves " the ruff overly obnoxious voice had me rolling my eyes. "A pleasure to be here Alpha King Roger, thank you for your hospitality" my father replied in a monotone voice.

I inwardly scoffed, even my father thinks this is a overly rich ass-hat, " well you all must be weary from the long flight, Rogan show them to there suits son" Rogan all but growled at his father " of course father". he turned to me giving an exaggerated eye roll and motioned for us to follow him. 

I was trying to pay attention to all the long hallways we turned down, this place was ginormous! I silently thanked Sadie for boosting my senses, i didn't want to show them how lost i could get and embarrass myself. My fingers trailed along the large white boards of the walls as we walked, pulling my fingers away and rubbing them, there wasn't a speck of dirt, i couldn't imagine having to clean a place to big. 

"This princess is your room" Rogan opened a black door to my right, he allowed me to walk in and gently closed the door behind him. Stepping into the room yet again i was overcome with a sense of it being cliche, i mean i am a princess but my room isn't this extravagant. 

The king size bed was draped with light blue and gold curtains  along with a vanity table that was white with gold designs. numerous other pieces of furniture all with gold accents, " do you approve darling" Rogan's baritone voice had me turning around swiftly. when did he get so close? he was merely a few inches, his eyes switching from my lips to my eyes. He stepped closer to me and placed his hands on each side of my waste" may i kiss you?" 

His question had me raising an eyebrow " i mean Raegan did get to experience these perfect plush lips and he hasn't stopped raving about it" i snorted at this " awe are you feeling a little left out?" his grip on my waist tightened and he gave a short growl " hell yes i am" asking gave me the perfect opportunity to tease him " hmm well since im to be won and ive yet to see you fight for me, maybe your not worthy of a reward" before he could retort my door was pushed open.           

 " Sarah! did you see this place its like a modern day medieval castle from Disney" Rogan reluctantly pulled away from me. 

" uhmm, yes its perfect for us real life princesses " i smiled, i really think she waits til im busy to barge in, i gave Rogan an apologetic smile. 

" Sophie are you to sleep with me?". " well no but i should! you may get scared in a huge place like this, especially if there are monsters around" she looked at Rogan as she mentioned  the monster part. I giggled at her boldness, she was definitely my sister. 

 She stared between us " So um are you gonna leave or are you spending the night as well? Boys aren't allowed you know." i shook my head at Sophie's eagerness to get rid of Rogan, he seemed harmless to me, only a little flirty. 

Rogan nodded " Well i guess this is goodnight princesses, ill be down the hall should you need anything" i smiled and Sophie glared " yes well thank you Prince Rogan sleep well" he nodded again " Breakfast is at 7 am".  

 " See you then" i smiled again as he backed away headed towards the doorway, fumbling for the door nob he never once took his eyes away from me. i laughed shaking my head " Goodnight Rogan" i waved and he opened the door and waved back closing it. " Finally" Sophie fell back on my bed sighing dramatically.

 i rolled my eyes at her antics " you know Soph just because we all are royalty doesn't mean that you should keep disrespecting them, wars have started over less." i scolded her. " yeah so, he obviously is a stupid jerk."

 "Sophie" i covered her mouth " You know he can probably hear you right?" "I could care less, he is not going to be my brother in law. The dude cant even come up with a pickup line without google! how can he run a whole realm?"

I burst into laughter, this kid here did have a point, even if he was one of the hottest princes there is no way he could run a realm properly if so. Her laughter carried over to me as well, she pulled me back onto the bed with her and snuggled into me. I wrapped my arms around her still giggling, i love this girl.

 " You do realize that i dont have a choice in the matter, if he wins then its a done deal. Lets get some sleep you vicious girl you" i walked into the bathroom after grabbing my bed clothes, changing i washed my face and brushed my teeth. 

Walking back into the room Sophie was already under the covers and her soft breathing indicated she was asleep. I slid in behind her pulling her close and kissing her cheek, i thanked the moon again for her. thinking of the moon had me missing home, my mind wondered to Millie and Max, i hope they were missing me as much as i them. 

Even Bruce filtered though my mind, his ice blue eyes capturing my attention. i reached over to the nightstand and sent out a few goodnight texts since the mindlink wouldn't work this far. I drifted off thinking of them, even wondering of Izzy and her grandmother, this was going to be a long few weeks.

Feeling movement beside me i opened my eyes, my vision was blurry but the scent was clear it was Sophie. I snuggled closer to her but opened my eyes to look around, the small amount of light from the curtains had me wondering what time it was.

 I reached through the curtains to the nightstand in search of my phone, squinting when the light was bright i scrambled to turn it down. "Eh. what time is it" Sophie whined next to me. looking at the phone again it was 6:15 am. "Its early Sophie we got about 45 min til breakfast, would you like to get up now?" i asked as sweetly as possible, wiping my eyes. 

She growled and pulled the covers back over her head, " okay i take it thats a no" i kissed her cheek and she swatted me away. smiling i decided a shower was needed to wake me up along with i had plenty of time to get dressed now. That was a great night of much needed sleep, i wonder if i should have Sophie sleep with me every night or if it was just the cloud of a bed. 

After my hot shower i wrapped my body in one of the overly fluffy towels and another in my hair. Stepping out of the bathroom i realized Sophie was still sleeping, i pulled my phone to see it was 6:30 now and few messages from the crew back home but i ignored them thinking ill text back later.

 i leaned over the bed and gently shook her " Soph honey wake up, its time to get ready for breakfast" she groaned "no 5 more minutes" pulling the covers back over her head, i jerked them back down" Sophie if you don't get up im telling Prince Rogan you are so mean because you think hes hot" She jumped up at that " If you do i swear ill tell him about the time you were laughing and snorted so hard you pooped yourself!" 

I glared at her " then i guess we are both getting dressed for breakfast. After our little squabble Sophie left to go get dressed finally leaving me to get ready, since the weather here is so tropical, i decided on a white off the shoulder sundress with brown sandals. I dried my hair and let it fall loosely down my back, mascara, eyeliner and light pink lipstick completed my look so i ventured out my room. 

Following my nose to the kitchen, i was greeted by a large dark walnut shade galley table, most of the seat where already occupied. 

"Good morning princess," Rogan smiled at me and i bowed my head in respect seeing his father Roger and his mother Regina at the head of the table.              "

 Good morning everyone, i hope you all slept well" i attempted to start a conversation. " Yes dear we slept wonderfully, i see Sophie slept with you last night, was she okay?" My mother Serena questioned " Yes mama she did, we wanted to spend some time together, we have been so busy recently that we have missed out on one another company." i replied.

  "Oh Luna Serena how ever did you raise such wonderful girls, i wish our boys were as considerate of each other, they are always bickering over something" Luna Regina began, she and my mother continued on there conversation, i turned to look at Rogan as his eyes were glued to me. I waved at him and the goofy grin he returned had Sophie mind linking me " See i told you he was dumb, even his face shows how empty his brain is" i couldn't contain my laughter and choked on my scrambled eggs.

 "Oh dear are you alright" Luna Regina handed me a napkin and patted my back, i nodded and wiped my mouth glaring at Sophie.

 She only smirked in return, "Excuse me Luna Regina" i began "Why have i not seen Raegan around yet?" She smiled so wide i thought her face would c***k, Rogan scoffed and my parents also stared at me in question. 

"Oh he has been away finishing his last semester of college, he will actually be here tomorrow, he seemed more than eager to return" she winked at me and i flushed. His kiss coming back to me, his minty breath and lush dark lips had me wishing he was here to taste again. Shaking my head to clear the images my wonderful Sadie kept supplying. " oh, okay i wasn't aware he was old enough to finish college yet". 

Before Regina could respond king Roger spoke up " Oh he isn't that old only 23 but he is very intelligent and has finished his law degree in half the time" of course he did i thought, i suppose we all know who the prototypical child is now. i nodded my reply, deciding to finish my breakfast, "Alpha King Samuel, how are the applicants coming along? any top pick so far?" of course the ass hat had to bring up the competition, im sure hes hoping that Raegan is in the top. 

My father wiped his mouth "Ah, yes actually there are quite a few promising choices, of course i cant pick favorites but there are a few extremely bright young males" He turned to me and smiled apologetically. i excused myself after finishing my food " if it is alright, mother, father i would like to go down to the beach for a few minutes to enjoy the morning?"

 " Of course dear, we will mind link you before the briefing of our schedule here" my mom replied. Scooting my chair out i was instructed to leave my plate at the table. 

Taking the steps down to the water i took long deep breaths of the salty air, something about being here had me smiling and feeling content. Even Sadie was silent for once, i walked along the beach taking my shoes off to feel the sand. I watched as a couple was walking along the beach holding hands, the girl had her head laid on his shoulder as he pointed at the castle.

 I found myself wanting that, that simple life, where i can just choose my mate and have normal walks along the beach. i turned away as they began kissing, i know i have kissed a few males at this point but it wasn't that kind of romantic head over heels in love kind of kiss. these where lust infused and under a moment of weakness. i hadn't realized my name was being called until my shoulder was touched, i jumped and spun around to find Rogan.

 " Hey didn't you hear me calling you?" i shook my head "no im sorry i was thinking"  he nodded and looked out at the ocean " I understand, i get lost sometimes in thought as well," i turned to look at him, he was still looking ahead. i felt bad for the guy even if he wasn't my top choice if i did end up with him i needed to be nice.

 " So your sister seems to think im an ignorant monster" he chuckled and stared at me. " Yes she seems to think no male is good enough for her sister" i shook my head " Well all joking aside i think shes right, i don't believe there is a guy worthy enough to be your mate" i stared at him, are you kidding me? 

 " Did you google that too?" I laughed at his embarrassment, he shook his head " No actually that is all me and a truth. i may not be the best choice but i am an honest one".  " wow" i shook my head laughing " so you are trying to charm me huh"? he laughed and moved closer to me. " i would do anything to have you darling" he looked so deeply into my eyes i swear he could see my soul. In that moment i wanted him to kiss me, but he pulled away and instead intertwined our hands " come along darling, our parents are requesting our presence." 

Groaning i replied " cant i have a day to just enjoy myself without all the hassles and rules". he laughed " yes well i would love to be a distraction and hopefully we can get time to learn about one another as soon as this schedule is set" i nodded and followed him allowing our hands to stay intertwined, holding his hand was warm and gave me a pleasant vibe.
