Chapter 19- A Deveroux Christmas

The next few days passed in a blur of excitement, with the royals touring apparently half our cabin castle was in a overdrive preparing for our departure. Sophie was running around with Mikha the youngest beta, Max and Millie were with there parents doing paperwork, and Bruce was doing pack training as usual.

  I hoped my parents would choose him to accompany us on the trip so i had someone to talk with other than my sister, they haven't said which guards to take yet.  Slipping into the kitchen for a mid morning snack i found Izzy helping prepare lunch. I haven't seen much of her since ive been so busy with the royal classes mom insisted i do, which consists of her and the elders critiquing my language and posture along with proper hand placements, i haven't been able to see her. 

" Izzy" i snatched her into a tight embrace smothering her face with kisses, Sadie purred in delight at having her so close.

 "Sarah im so happy to see you! Your dad let my grandmother Elana move in with me! shes a sylist and got a job in the village and im a maid now! we are together happy and safe! all thanks to you! This will be the best Christmas ive had in years" i hugged her again. "im so glad i could help, im sorry i haven't been around lately." 

I looked down after letting her go feeling ashamed at not being there for her. She lifted my gaze with her hands on my cheeks to meet hers "Sarah, because of you i have a life now, a better life than before, i wouldn't change a thing." i smiled and nodded " well i cant wait to meet Elana" before she could respond " Sarah sweetie its time to go" my mother called from behind me. smiling apologetically i blew Izzy a kiss as i met my mom at the door. 

Looking out at the Suv i seen that there was 6 palace warriors but none where Bruce, i suppose since he is lead warrior he had to stay behind to take control of the guard, it still saddens me to know i wont see him for the coming weeks. 

"Bruce" i mindlinked to him "Yes Princess?" I'll miss you, Merry Christmas and enjoy your peace and quiet" i sadly remarked "Oh Princess , it wont be a wonderful time without your sweet voice and beautiful body to gift to me, stay safe and Merry Christmas to you as well". I smiled thinking how much i really would miss his body too.  

 Mindlinking with Millie and Max before i left " Bye besties, ill see you all very soon please cause enough trouble so its like i never left" laughing as Millie replied " not possible without my sister from another mister". 

 " Love you Shuga" i sent back, Max chimed in "Dont get to carried away, your my doll remember that" i snorted closing my link with Millie to reply " Of course shuga daddy" his growl had me shiver "oo i like that, when you get back ill have you moan it" laughing again i picked up my bag and followed my family to the SUV. 

We arrived at the airport and filled into the plane, it was a private jet, each realm had there own for pack business. Taking in the dark walnut interior with pearl colored chairs paired nicely with the white wool carpeting i chose a chair closest to the front next to a window to occupy my time. The flight was supposed to be 4 hours long and haven't flown in quiet a few years but i do enjoy it very much. Wolves are used to running on land not flying so it always gives me a great adrenaline rush. 

Sophie flopped into the seat facing mine with her tablet with lime green headphones on already. I took a peak at the screen and she had already downloaded her latest episodes of charmed. I haven't watched the series so there was no point in attempting now, i would only agitate her asking questions. Deciding to opt out of watching with her i pulled my leg under me and stared out the window, i knew we would pass over nothing but land so i used my time to think about the alpha games coming up.

 I wonder who all will compete and how this whole thing will go, i don't prefer to be paraded around as a prize although it is nice to feel special enough that i am. According to my parents this almost never happens, most marry to other princes or even betas then move to their realm, but since my parents don't have any boys then the winner will rule over our realm. 

Feeling tired i rearranged myself in my seat to try to sleep its been two hours of me lost in my thoughts, ive went from anger to sadness back to anger at the whole fight to the death nonsense.  looking over my parents my mother was softly snoring curled into my dads side while he was looking at papers, i moved over to the seat facing him. 

Again tucking my feet under me i stared at him, clearing my throat when he didn't look up i began " Daddy i have a delima, i was hoping you could help me solve." He set his paper onto the table in front of him as he looked up to me " Alright my lil troublemaker what have you done now?" He quirked his eyebrow looking at me.  

I shook my head and held my hands up in surrender " i haven't done anything...yet," i smiled sheepishly and continued " But i do want to know a little more about the alpha games, such as the rules and how the tournament will commence."

 "Well im glad you asked, i have been meaning to explain it to you. So after we visit all four realms we will hold a entry time where any qualified wolf may request to enter the tournament, after the credentials are verified they will be given a lie detection test. We want to assure that the wolves entering are truly interested in you and not just the crown they will acquire. Of course if they pass then we can move forward with the ceremony after all the applicants are finished. A blood test will also be required to protect you from any STDs or bad genes, unfortunately it is very unlikely your betrothed will be pure." 

He clenched his jaw at that and continued " we will extend our invitation to even the warriors if they want, the rules for fighting and the different exams may change depending on how many applicants we receive. Is there any questions you have my dear?" i nodded nervously and twisted my hair around my finger " Sadie mentioned that the wolves will fight to the death, is that true?" Dad nodded " Yes that is true however that is the last round, but if one wolf does knock the other unconscious, the winner will be given the choice of mercy."

 "Oh, well i guess that's better than i thought." he nodded,

 i shifted in my seat and looked out the window at the light blue sky, watching the clouds underneath us gave me a sense of peace. ' I WANT A MATE THAT WILL BE STRONG AND AFFECTIONATE' Sadie gave me her input interrupting my calm thoughts 'Yes Sadie i agree, however i want a mate that will be not only strong physically but emotionally as well, i need a partner to know the difference between controlling me and supporting me. I want a mate who can understand my views and respect the discussions i make, i would like to be co-rulers not just a peace of arm candy and pup factory.

 'I WANT LOTS OF PUPS FOR OUR MATE, I THINK HE WILL BE PERFECT' 'Oh Sadie there is no such thing as perfect' she snorted at me and turned her back to me. I was startled when the landing gear hit the ground, my seat jarred back and forth and i looked around hastily noticing my parents, Sophie and the warriors all gripping there seats as well. 

Finally we slowed to a stop the pilot coming on speaker " Alpha King and Luna Queen, Princesses we have landed in the Shadow Wolves  Pack Lands, we will be unloading your luggage shortly, the limo is waiting for you. Enjoy your stay." unbuckling our seat belts we began shuffling toward the door. 

The Fresh Salty air, the breeze ruffling my hair as i walked down the steps toward the awaiting limo had me smiling and inhaling deeply. Gosh i could get used to this, taking in the scene in front of us, the white hummer limo was parked at the edge of a dark blue carpeting surrounded by large male wolves, i assumed to be Shadow guards. 

The Forest Green eyes of Rogan met mine and my breathing hitched, his scent carried to me and had Sadie purring in delight at the sea salt caramel smell surrounded us. His scent wasn't this strong when we danced, i dont know how long i can keep myself together, as his eyes scanned my body and a predatory smile overtook his friendly one. His eyes darkened and he moved swiftly to me, taking my hand is his he pressed a slow kiss to it, while his thumb massaged my wrist. It took all of my self control to not moan at his actions. 

"Wonderful to see you again Princess, Welcome to our home Alpha King Samuel, Luna Queen Serena, Princess Sophie and warriors." His pleasant tone to my family pulled me from my dirty thoughts thankfully. 

After our luggage was loaded Rogan had opened the door for me to get into the hummer. He slid in next to me leaving just a little amount of space as everyone else filled in. His close proximity had me blushing, thinking about our dance and his smell was taking my arousal to new heights. 'knock it off Sadie, i dont need the whole car smelling me!" i scolded her 

' HEY SISTER I CANT HELP IT IF I LIKE WHAT IM SEEING AND WHAT I FELT' i rolled my eyes clearing my throat " So Prince Rogan" i tried regaining my sanity " how far is your home from here?" "Ah well its actually right there" He pointed ahead and i turned to look over my shoulder.

 The bright lights of the castle reflected off the smooth ocean waves like you were looking at a portrait. I had never seen something so gorgeous, the sun setting behind the castle shown all the intricate swirls and archs perfectly, painting an outline of a fantasy. 

" Your castle is breathtaking" i whisper yelled, He chuckled at my words before having me blushing so hard i thought i would explode " No Princess, you are breathtaking, the castle is merely a mirage to your beauty." ' AH, TAKE ME NOW ALPHA' Sadie whined in my head having me covering my face.

 " You must have googled pick up lines cause thats the cheesiest line ever and not going to work on her" at Sophie's curt reply i inwardly thanked the moon goddess again for my lovely sister, she took my embarrassment again, i owe her big time. 

 " Sophia Angela Ellingford" My mother scolded " Oh Its quite alright, she is actually right" I gasp and before i could catch myself i slapped his shoulder " I cant believe you" His rich laughter filled the limo"i was only trying to impress you" as my mother yet again scolded me this time.  

   " Prince Rogan i assure you my daughters aren't normally this rude, im sure they are just exhausted from our trip." Serena's voice tried to sooth the situation. "oh, no please don't apologize, your daughters are a feisty and welcoming to the overly boring life of a royal. i thank you all for the laughs and especially you Sophie for your wit" he replied. 

"Yeah wish i could same the same for you" Sophie all but rolled her eyes after her statement. " Prince Rogan, i told you my girls were a handful, why do you think i address Sarah with ' my lil troublemaker' Rogan laughed again as we all began to file out of the limo.

I was the last to exit the limo and Rogan caught me by the hand pulling me close to him. "I meant what i said Princess, even if i did use google to try and impress you, your beauty does outshine this castle." 

He was so close to my ear his breath tickled my tiny hairs giving me goosebumps"Prince Rogan is this your way of trying to boost your chances at winning my favor?" His dark chuckle had me clenching my thighs together "Oh darling, dont worry about that, i will win your hand then ill make your body and soul mine as well" 

" hmm...be careful, confidence tends to overwhelm and become arrogance that needs reprimanded" i retorted "Well if your doing the reprimanding then count me in as your first victim". that had me speechless as Sadie thew images of us tangled up and his lips on mine. He inhaled deeply growling " dont tease me darling, im only so proper because we have an audience" he moved away from me picking up my bag and turning to the castle. 

My head was still swimming when my parents called my name i snapped out of my thoughts and followed them into the huge oak doors of our vacation home.  Ready or not here we go i thought.
