Episode 3-Strange desires

I paced the room nervously as the Ghafil physician tended to Hero's wound. Why do I have to get so mad? Why do I have these maddening powers?

"He is going to be fine my queen you have no worries" The physician relayed in their language but I could understand perfectly.

"Tell him I said thank you Barb" I whispered to Barb who was floating right next to me. She translated for me and the physician nodded before exiting the room. I hurried to Hero's side, his green color had paled but it was returning with time, I figured I was ungrateful to him. Maybe I was bitter for losing my human life, I was bitter for losing Nicholas but I shouldn't have exerted that anger on Hero, it was unlike me...I sat next to him and looked into his closed eyes. He was the only handsome alien I've seen, I mean he had no tusk, and his nose was quite pointy, except the green color, tail, tentacles, and unusually large eyes and head, he was...close to being human. I gave a soft laugh at the thought and sighed as I watched him sleep.

"Do you think I was been harsh on him Barb?" I asked and Barb floated to my side showing a sympathetic emoticon on her screen as she appeared in front of me. I gave a soft chuckle and she made a happy emoticon.

"Hero has always been passionate Barb, he doesn't deserve this...he's now stuck with me-

"He's happy with you Claire, he's very happy with you...he believes you'll come around" Barb replied and I sighed.

"I told you he's passionate" I sighed and held Hero's hand only for that feeling to slowly engulf me again making Hero groan from his sleep. It was addicting and I waited for the feeling to flow freely through me, Hero continue to groan softly as I hold onto his hands.

"Aira" Hero groaned and I broke the hold breathing heavily.

"Who's Aira?" I asked abruptly turning to Barb.

"She was the king's mate, the princess of the light race, the body you are in belonged to her-

"But...what about her?" I asked Barb as my gaze moved from her to Hero who was still lying still on the bed.

"She was fated to die young as she suffered an incurable hereditary disease...she died before she could bring the king's heir to the world-

"Hero lost a child?" I asked shocked by the news.

"Yes, Claire but that was some months ago before you chose her body-

"Chose her body?!-

"Yes...you are the king's human mate, you must have sensed his despair" I found Barb's explanation really weird but nothing hasn't been weird since I died the very first time. I was watching Hero sleep when I felt tired myself. I had no idea how I slept but I haven't slept that well in all my entire life, it was peaceful...like there wasn't anything to worry about. I whimpered as the feeling of serenity heightened.

"She had no idea how her touch affects me" I heard Hero scoffed but that must have been my imagination. I woke up feeling very hungry and I was on my bed with no sign of Hero anywhere. So I got worried not minding how I look or what I wear I walked out into the hallway then the stairs. The two Rhofik that looked like me rush to trying to tell me I wasn't properly dressed but I was kinda concerned about Hero and I was about rushing out through the exit when Hero appeared with about four different Ghafil behind him and all of them looked away immediately they saw me. Hero already bulged eyeball almost left its socket on seeing me, he rushed to me and led me back upstairs.

"Claire what are you wearing-

"Does it matter I'm an alien" I rolled my eyes and Hero chuckled before pushing me to the mirror to see what I was wearing. It was just the transparent long undergarments with three different slits from the thigh. My jaw dropped on seeing even my alien body had a mammalian gland. Glad to see that was still there.

"What are you looking at Hero, Look away" I almost screamed as I figure Hero and I were staring at my alien nudity.

"Well, I'm..." He didn't get to finish whatever it is he wanted to say when I made him turn back before heading to the chest to get myself a decent dress.

"Where's Barb?" I frowned on realizing my companion was nowhere to be found.

"She must be on sleep mode and probably charging" Hero replied.

"She charged?" I frowned at my own question because it definitely sounded stupid.

"Of course Claire, every electronic charged. Charlie taught me that" I froze at the mention of my brother's name. How I miss him?

"I'm sorry Claire" Hero voiced and I chuckled softly while I put on a milky lacy dress.

"It's nothing Hero, I'm sure all of them believe I'm dead...they are probably living a happy life right now...I don't think there's anything for you to be sorry for Hero" I said before walking to him and he turned to me with a wide smile on his alien lips which looked much human compare to the ex-alien prince.

"What happened to the ex-prince?" I asked Hero as he continued to gawk at me.

"He works in the stone mine with his mother...it's the least I can do for them. Their sins were unpardonable" Hero breathed ruefully.

"It's not your fault Hero. They deserve whatever punishment it is they are getting...I think you're being generous to them. If I was to handle it...they'll be dead" I joked and Hero chuckled softly.

"How are you feeling? I was looking for you" I confessed and he gave a bright smile.

"I've been better Claire...but you look hungry-

"How do you know that?" I asked anxiously.

"Because you're pale...let's get you something to eat" Hero urged me and I nodded following him out into the hallway and down the stairs.

"I don't think I can get used to walking down floating stairs" I smiled as I walked carefully trying to trip.

"You'll get used to it...come" Hero urged and I followed him down until we got to the end of the stairs. He led me to a big room at the back of the stairs. Immediately we walked in, chairs and a huge table emerged from the floor but none of them had legs. How interesting. Thankfully the dining chairs had a backrest. Hero beckoned me to a chair and before I sat some Ghafils started to appear from a door that appeared out of nowhere from the end of the hall.

"How did they know we were coming?" I whispered my question to Hero and he smiled.

"They know immediately we set our feet into the room" Hero replied walking to the other chair at the end of the table. The other two Ghafil that looked like me accompanied them and led them to fill the table.

"They are supposed to be your maids" Hero filled me in as I stared at the two aliens with the same structure and color of skin as me.

"They are the light race" Hero added as I continue to stare.

"Barb told me that as well...why weren't they on earth...like the rest of you?" I asked turning to Hero now.

"They are the race of peace, they prefer their home than hijacking any other. Even when our world was dying they stayed to nurse it...they are very powerful, they are the peacekeeper of the Ghafil race" Hero explained and I met the eyes of the shorter light Ghafil, I smiled at her and her face glowed before she returned the smile.

"They don't know who you are Claire...they don't know you're human, they would never accept you if they know. To them you're-

"Aira?" Every alien attention turns to me at the mention of that name and they all seem to brighten at I smiled back at all of them.

"How did you-

"You muttered her name in your sleep when I touched your hand, it appears you're very fond of her" I pointed and Hero's face paled up.

"I understand Hero, I understand you must be pained at the fact you lost her...and your child. I totally understand, I'm sorry for that" I responded despondently.

"Don't be...she knew it was going to happen, but she wanted to give me an heir before she died. The stone reflecting her time was dim and I knew she had little time left, she struggled to bring our little one to life but she ran out of time...do you know what she said by her last breath...she said she was sorry for breaking her promise of giving me an heir" Hero's laugh was bitter and sorrowful. I couldn't help but feel sympathy for him. I was indeed ungrateful to him.

"I have something for you...once the first star is out-

"First star?" I asked sounding confused with a quizzical expression on my face.

"There's so much you need to learn about my world Claire but I'm going to teach you...as you taught me yours-

"It's strange that shy and clueless alien I found back then looks confident and strong now-

"I don't think I have much of a choice I've been ruling for a year now...my Rhafil needs me, they depend on me...I was trained to fit the throne...you should eat now Claire, you look starved-

"I hate the fact that these alien bodies can reflect your feelings I mean...I can't even lie about starving right now" I complained and Hero laughed, I concentrate on the food on the table and gulp hard trying not to puke. Everything had a disgusting look.

"I thought you're a vegetarian. This looks like a roasted animal" I observed studying the lobster-like creature kept on the plate in front of me.

"It's called poci...it's like fish here on Zullion. It's very rich in Nitrogen, good for you-

"I really can't eat this Hero, it's disgusting-

" Try...try closing your eyes...it's delicious" I wonder go something like this hideous could be disgusting, its eyeballs looked like they were staring at me. I grab the fork or tong because it's missing one of its edges. With the knife placed beside me, I cut a slice trying not to vomit my gut out. I met Hero's face and he urged me on. I closed my eyes and raised the Poci to my mouth and made an awfully disgusted face before chewing it. Hero couldn't help but laugh at the face I made but slowly the flavor of the dissolved into my taste buds...if the body I am in actually has one. I chewed slowly staring into space as I enjoyed the taste of the alien food. It tasted like a crab to me and I wanted more...so I ignore the look cutting another slice and another until I practically devoured the whole thing but my chest felt stiff, so I looked around for water but saw a transparent liquid in a jar, in the middle of the table, it pretty much looked like water so I stood and walked towards it, right before Hero could stop me I gulped it down but s**t the f*****g thing burns so I spit it all out. Hero burst into laughter as I started to clean my tongue.

"What the f**k was that?" I demanded with my extremely long tongue out.

"It's a strong intoxicating liquid, it's not meant for woman Ghafil, I was the one served-

"So you drink that...it's tasted like hot concentrated chili soup" Hero laughed as I eyed the liquid in disgust.

"I don't know what that means but it sounds funny" Hero chuckled before I made my way back to my seat.

"So does this planet has water...I could really use some" I half-pleaded and Hero ordered for water to be served to me and I got that because he turned to the Ghafil standing not too far from us speaking the language they understood to them. Their water was white and it glows, how interesting.

"It's glowing" I stated the obvious and he nodded in agreement.

"Is...is that safe?" I queried.

"Yeah it is safe Claire" Hero affirmed and I nodded raising the hurricane-shaped cup to my mouth. I hesitated for a brief moment before letting the liquid into my throat. Wow...it tasted water, not bad.

"That's...that's great" I commented as I slowly put down the cup.

"Your colour has returned-

"Wish my skin doesn't have to announce I was satisfied" I muttered to myself feeling kinda embarrassed. Now I know how Hero feels whenever his skin announces his feelings, it really is embarrassing.

"There's something I would like to show you" Hero stood and walked next to me gesturing his hand for me to put mine, I hesitated but reluctantly did so I gulped hard as the strange feeling started but Hero masked his well and led me to the third angle of the room which is weird because that wasn't the place we walked in from but I just followed him as he led me into another door that appeared in the wall. My eyes widen in shock as I saw green grasses and trees and flowers. I looked over to Hero and I saw his glow rippling from his head down as he slowly changed to the Hero I once knew.

"I-but...you-

"A royalty I know...I did continue with my brother's experiment and now every Ghafil can blend into the form of any living creatures. Even you but you've always been a defender and royalty. You have both powers in you... Like me, only more-

"But I can't do what you did-

"Claire you were human, that code would be forever carried within your soul. You can appear to be Claire only if you want to" I was happy by the news, in fact extremely happy because I prefer the body I was used to. My human body but I can't do it and I know I can't.

"I can't...I don't know how to-

"You have to try Claire...believe you can, you can" Hero persuaded and I just thought of being human again, being Claire...I thought of how I once looked like, my strawberry hair, heart-shaped lips, my Greek nose, my thoughts were broken by the sudden transformation of my hand. I watched in awe as white glow ripples through my body and it started to change, slowly... I touched my face and feel my nose.

"Huh...ah...I... I'm Claire" I laughed and ran into the field, I saw real water and looked into my reflection...it was me. I huffed out a laugh as I stared at my reflection in amazement.

"I can't believe this" I laughed moving my hand to my hair and combed it down with my fingers.

"This is amazing" I smiled before turning back to meet Hero's eyes and out of thinking I ran into his arms so happy about being human again but when I figured I was in his arms I immediately let go.

"I'm sorry" I apologized despondently and he smiled.

"It's nothing Claire-

"I'm just...so happy about this. Thank you, Hero" I grinned and he returned back the smile gladly. I felt this strange attraction towards me, that attraction compelling me to close the gap between us and fall into his arms again. That attraction that felt so much like t*****e I gulped and turned away from him. I still loved Nicholas...dearly, whatever strange feelings it is I'm feeling for Hero I know it's because I was in the body of his mate. But Barb called me his human mate, I shoved away the thoughts and concentrate on my surroundings, appreciating the work of nature, or was it Hero?

"Did you...do this?" I asked feeling the carpet grass beneath my feet.

"I figured you'll like it...I send some defenders to earth to get the seeds. I wanted to make you feel at home Claire" Hero's words were quite touching and I felt my heart instantly warmed up to him.

"I wanted to do more-

"No...you've done more than enough," I said involuntarily closing the gap between us which was kinda a bad idea because my hands were on Hero's and it was affecting us both. I tried to move my hand away but it was like my whole body wasn't responding to my command again. Hero moved so close until he took my lips in his. Hero was kissing me? That was just weird but it felt great, I felt great...I gave him entrance and he invaded my mouth with his tongue seeking dominance and for a brief moment Nick's face flashed before my eyes and I pushed Hero away.

"I...I'm sorry" I told him before running away from him!
