Deaths at Mysterious Fire 3 Illegal Occupants Die in Most Recent Warehouse BlazeEngine Station 1, located at Folsom and 5th Streets, has been the primary responder fighting three unusual fires occurring in the last two months in the general industrial area south of Market Street/China Basin. Engine Station 5 at Turk and Webster, along with several other companies, provided necessary backup for the multi-alarm fires. The most recent blaze, yesterday, claimed three lives, an infant and two adults, all homeless seeking refuge. In recent months, the three single-story wood-frame warehouses have been occasionally illegally occupied by other homeless squatters as temporary shelter.
