Interrogation 7:33 pm
Nevaeh jumped when the door opened and Rollins walked back in. She was tired. She couldn't even keep her eyes open for long. "Please, I told you everything."
"Not everything, Nevaeh." He sat down in his chair and adjusted his tie. He had removed his jacket before entering. Nevaeh watched his body movement. He was frustrated about something and he wasn't talking. Rollins dropped a tan folder in front of her and opened it up. He pushed a photo across the table. Nevaeh recognized it immediately. Her expression went cold. "Tell me about this." Rollins put one leg over the other and watched Nevaeh.
She just shrugged. "It was just a misunderstanding."
"A misunderstanding? Trish was admitted into the hospital with a concussion. Her nose had been broken."
"She threatened me!" Nevaeh shouted. Now she became frustrated. She moved in her seat, trying to find a comfortable position. "She was pushing herself on my fiancé. I went to his office to confront her."
"How long has this thing been going on with Mr. Peters and Miss Norburn, to your knowledge?"
"There was no thing! Up until last night I had no idea they were in touch outside of work!"
"We pulled his cell records, Nevaeh. Gregory and Trish had been in touch quite a few times in the last few months. Some of these messages are extremely threatening and I doubt Gregory was the one sending them."
Nevaeh dropped her eyes to the table. She felt numb. She hated reliving all these memories, all the anger. It wasn't like her to get so angry and lash out. "I may have sent a few messages from his phone. He had deleted her number but she wouldn't stop! I had to do something!"
Rollins was quiet for the longest time. He looked through all the paperwork on the table trying to wrap his mind around the case. All evidence pointed to Nevaeh but she was pleading innocent. There was no way to tell if she was there at the time of the murder because her DNA was all over the apartment. Her fingerprints were on the body because she was found kneeling next to Peters when they were found by a neighbor. There was no weapon found at the scene. If Nevaeh was really innocent, then Trisha was the last to see Gregory alive. "Tell me about the assault."
