The closer they got to Zane’s parents’ house, the happier Zane seemed to become. Conversely, with every mile that passed, Rory grew more anxious. The two of them had been invited to spend the weekend with Brenda and Bill as they’d kept insisting Rory call them. Rory had successfully postponed the invitation a couple of times, citing work commitments, but he knew it’d be rude to put them off a third time.
