After finding out that the dreams he’d been having of Charlie were real, it was all Jay could think about. It may have all been in their minds, but they had truly been in each other’s company, touched each other, kissed. He was surprised by Charlie’s reactions to him, but he had felt like the real world faded away in her dream presence. If she felt the same, maybe it also made her thoughts about him focus solely on their bond and not his betrayal. Either way, he was excited to dream of her again, and knowing he would be seeing his mate each night made his wolf feel at peace.
The disappointment that filled him as sleep evaded him that night was overwhelming. The rest he did get was short and dreamless, a black void that offered no comfort from his mate. His wolf was angry,
