Amelia's POV
The following day came and went without anything new happening. I was fed. Nothing to do besides sleep for the majority of the day and think as if the walls were closing in on you with each waking moment. It was excruciating. The days seemed longer than what they should have been. I was going to start losing my mind and disregard that girl's warning about the triggers in the walls. I wanted to risk that at this point. I could possibly... alright who am I kidding? With these guards, I cannot do a damn thing. I could barely land a blow on Maurice when I met him. And these guards are about the same size as him, probably a bit buffer.
I was pacing back and forth, tapping my finger on my chin.
"Think Amelia... think." I kept repeating in a low tone, but nothing was coming to mind. The only window I would have is when the maids come, but how the hell will I escape the rest of the house? I don't know anything, but it was necessary to try at least. Matter fact... I needed a camera… just like Secret. She was getting in and out of places like it was nothing. Speaking of Secret, where is she today? I mean... it has only been a day, so I shouldn't worry that much, right? Her pattern hasn't truly come in, but it would start off by her coming during the time of lunch. I would look for a clock but uh, no. There isn't one here, so that would have been a waste of 15 seconds of time I could completely waste since I am sitting here.
While I kept pondering about myself, I noticed the arrogant ass and his minions coming in. I didn't pay them any attention while I kept pacing back and forth to figure out what I was going to do in my spare time while I was here. He sat in a chair that he provided for himself with the help of his minions. He crossed his legs over the other, wearing his long black trench coat with his black suit on. I turned towards him while crossing my arms over my chest and gave him the death stare. His arrogant ass was sitting there with a smirk on his face like he had won the game we were playing.
"Well... look who decided to grace me with his disgusting presence? It's the king of assholes, as of right now, because there could be a bigger asshole out there."
"Such a filthy mouth you have. Mother would have rinsed my mouth out with some soap if I were to address people the way you do."
"She needed to be whooping the arrogance out of your ass, but I don't think that happened, since you clearly are not disciplined."
"Jokes that you wish you had, but unfortunately, that was not funny."
"It wasn't supposed to be... jackass."
He shook his head at me and I proceeded to go to the bed and sat down.
"Hm.. Well... even though you are in this situation, you are still a guest in my home so... I would like to see how you are living. How is your mental state?"
"Showing a caring side?" I asked while placing my hand over my heart with a shocked look on my face. "I couldn't care less and as for my mental state, I stare at a bunch of walls all day with nothing to do. Someone would go crazy sitting in this spot all day."
"Is there something you would like... to keep yourself occupied instead of you scooping out the walls thinking that was going to help you?"
I raised my right eyebrow and the thought of Secret's message came to mind.
"You don't know what I'm doing down here. Not like you're watching my every move."
"You are correct about that. I am not watching your moves. I am, however, monitoring the room. I'll give you a secret though. Each time you hit the wall with… whatever you are hitting the wall with, there is a trigger that sends a signal to me. I have already noticed that you have done it about 30 times. You did it yesterday, so I thought I would give you the heads-up that it was not a good idea. And if you think I am lying, continue to do it. A nice shocking surprise would benefit you."
"How wonderful you would notice that. I want a computer."
"Denied."
"And why not?"
"Think I am stupid?"
"Is that a rhetorical question, because I can give you my honest answer to what I think about you."
"Next choice."
"To get out of this room and actually have something to do."
"Such as..."
"I don't care at this point. I am tired of sitting in this room with nothing to do. If you are worried about my mental... then do that."
He squinted his eyes at me and stood onto his feet. One of his minions picked up his chair and I tilted my head, watching.
"Leaving so soon... thought you would have chatted with me much longer than that."
He chuckled and left the room while the maids came in with lunch. I sighed and rolled my eyes while going back to looking at the walls. The maids came in and left, which is their normal pattern. I turned slowly and noticed the figure on the floor. I shook my head and went to the bars and sat in front of them while crossing my legs over the other.
"I thought you were supposed to escape to the outside. And how the hell did you get past your father that fast?"
"I have my ways of not being noticed by dear old dad.... He doesn't pay me any mind anyway, so it is not actually hard. As for outside, its boring when you don't have no one to go outside with. There is no playground either, and I don't want to go in the garden because then I could get caught quickly."
"Why the garden?"
Secret went quiet after that. You can see despair slowly filling her face. I leaned down a bit to get a better look at her face but she was clearly trying to hide it from me.
"It's nothing... it's just something happened and now there are cameras in the garden, so no one goes into the garden anymore."
"So... no more outside? Was it fun while it lasted a little bit at least?"
"It was okay. I just want to go to the park and play with other kids and have fun."
"Is there a park near here?"
"There is... but I can't go there by myself. I don't know how to cross the big streets."
"Maybe someone could take you to the park. I am sure someone can take you."
"No one can take me to the park. All the grown-ups here are just meanies, and they do not pay me any mind... They are just… mean."
I looked over to see that she had some dolls with her and the inner child in me must have sparked. I picked up the dolls and started to move their hands.
"Well... can I play with you?"
"Why would you want to play with me?"
"Well... maybe it could be fun, and you know it's better than playing by yourself. Maybe you could teach me how to play in a way that would be fun for you."
She looked down at the floor then wiggled her toys. She shrugged her shoulders and scooted closer to me.
"Well... this is how you play with dollys. The one in your hand is Jennifer. She is nuts because her boyfriend is messing with her best friend, and she knows, but they think that she doesn't know, but she does know, and now she is trying to get evidence, so she hired this dolly named Johns in my hand to investigate."
"Sounds like a lot is going on."
"Wait until you hear the rest of it."
