Chapter 5

1321 Words
A month later Seth awakens to the sound of the birds singing, the sunrise in the distant and the river in the foreground. He looks over to check out Mary, and it appears that she is still asleep and has not awaken yet. The ambers of the fire could be heard crackling and popping as he lie there looking up at the sky, as he fully awakens and gatherers his senses. He sits up and remains still for a moment. Thinking about the journey ahead. The terrain is beginning to transform into dense woodland, with more  jungle style terrain and rolling hills instead of large mountain ranges. He could tell by the ozone, terrain and the vegetation development that they have begin a descent into the lower elevations. A jungle could be seen forming in the future. In a few days there would be a drastic change in terrain as they would be crossing a fine line of separation. A river that has been carving through the land for hundreds of years. Beyond the river lies the heart of the rainforest, a rainforest that connects and spans the entire continent of Pangea. Their teachings would be real lessons, and the signs will be obvious. Or so the messages from the cave announced. Seth is super thrilled on the inside to be working for the spirits of all creation, also extremely excited to have discovered Mary along his journey. Not even 2 months into the journey and he has already discovered a beautiful women, a women that seems now to be lost without Seth, a women that appears to have given her whole life over to Seth. She has practically confessed her whole life purpose over to his will and desire, almost like she has been sent to manifest the corresponding cave message. Perhaps she's a manifestation of the message received. Either way he is astonished by the development that's created by her presence. He piles more wood onto the fire and begins to bring some fresh river water to a boil. He makes his way back over to the riverside where he gazes out into the valley, thinking, dreaming and wondering what if? while he waits for the water to boil. He hears the sounds of her body rustling around on the ground, he turns to notice her and she begins to rub her eyes like she has slept peacefully and soundly all night. He begins to approach her. 'Good morning' Mary appears to fully awakening now becoming fully adjusted of the morning sunlight and morning vitality. Last week while out alone he stumbled upon some fresh coffee beans growing wild. So he harvested a few pounds of the beans to enjoy on the journey. The beans hadn't fully dried until yesterday evening, Seth had prepared 2 cups throughout the morning and they were now cooling down. He makes his way closer to the camp and to the fire, retrieves the cup, extends his hand, giving Mary the morning beverage. While responding 'good morning' Mary reached to grab the cup, as she stabilized her body after shifting from the ground to a large log right behind her that acted like a chair. Careful it may be still warm he says to her. She takes the cup with a firm grip, securing the hot beverage and slowly draws the cup in to her lips to take her first morning sip. The land will be transforming rapidly from here, he says. Not to worry though, beyond the river will be only jungle, view will limited and the mosquitoes activity will probably pick up nothing they can do about the insect, only wade the waters carefully and take it one step at a time. So that was the plan for the future. They finish enjoying there coffee and a short talk while the sun rises. In silence for a while, really taking it easy today. A day of relaxation and rest before continuing their journey. They set around in silence for a large portion of the morning, enjoying the delight given by the land. The coffee made for a very interesting surprise this morning. Seth made his way upstream for a few hundred yards, looking for signs, sniffing the air dreaming about with his monad, while Mary remained around camp doing things that seemed productive to the homestead way of life, almost like that was the role she was meant to play without even any effort given at all. The two wandered off in their own directions for a few hours after. A large portion of the day was spent wondering about the area looking for clues to something and enjoying the wilderness. The sun was beginning to set by the time they both made it back to there camp area for the night. They got the fire started just in time, as the night begin to set upon them. They both had caught fish and found wild fruit, so dinner for tonight was taken care of. After all the choirs were done, the fire started and all the food items were cleaned, they returned to unity, as one, apart of the same message and destiny. Night after night they would look up into the sky, wonder, dream and watch the flame engulfed meteors light up the mountainside as they passed by overhead. This would surely be missed because tomorrow they would be entering into the jungle; where the dense canopy overhead would surely eliminate even from their view, they night stars and maybe even the moon in some areas. The river they were camped by runs into a larger river in the distant. The river became one again, cuts through the land forming its mark on the heart, mind and the life of the people around the countryside, and of the valley. Just as they were about to fall asleep and begin again in the morning, from out of nowhere they here a sound echoing from up river. A sound that sounded familiar, the sound of the inhabitants of Pangea. They fixed their attention on the river up near to them, being slightly blinded by the fire; the time is of midnight and the full moon is in the sky. They both thought, who would it be, who could it be out this late at night. Deep inside Seth was so thrilled; thrilled to be in the presence of a great community. Although the haven't, seen anyone in weeks, this is a good sign, because he loves these activities as a child. They would spend weeks on the water as a child. Drifting day and night, sometimes for days; sometimes meeting people they have never even met. These days in Pangea every village is connected, every market and every school. It may sound like a lot of work, but then 'yelp' you guessed it, Seth and the crew would haul the canoes all the way back upstream, back to there village and they loved every minute of it. They were really thrilled to see activity in Pangea. The next morning, they awaken to the sign of a fire in the distant. Not a forest fire, but a fire of a camp, or a village. A sign of activity, a sign of potential and possibility, another corresponding message from the cave conjured spirits and energies that he received. They prepare for the day. Cleaning the area and extinguishing the fire, getting everything ready to continue the trek. They have gained a few items since the beginning; 2 cups and now 1 of a more heavy duty fire racking system to prepare the game for mealtime, a metallic rack and another backpack to carry more items as well as the current ones mentioned. They refill their canteens and gather all their supplies up, fill their backpacks with their equipment, secure the satchel and take one last look at the campsite before they begin their continuation.
