Chapter 6

1917 Words
A year later they begin to emerge from the dense jungle: thrilled to see pastures of green, and now with a panoramic view of the horizon in view. Appearing to be a few weeks into the future is another mountain range, with a huge waterfall. Almost like the earth lifted up and carried with it, lakes, rivers and all. Creating a large drop off, a cliff face, that was breathtaking. Green shrubs appear to clinging onto the cliff face by the waterfall with all their strength, at the same time appears to be taking the a***e of the falling water very well and with ease. The scene seems to have been developing for eons. Prehistoric moss and trees, alone with vines and other plant matter cover the cliff face, creating a beautiful oasis with a wall of green in the background of the waterfall mist. A beautiful place to create, Seth had never seen this area as well. Of course new things were to be expected this far away from the village. Seth hadn't traveled this far ever, but has only heard of areas this far inland. Awareness of the farming villages this far inland is all he has ever been taught, but those are stories told by elder's, and currently as they can recall they haven't seen a sign of human activity in 6 months now. They immediately begin to seek a suitable area to set up camp, they were sure glad to be out of the jungle for now, now they could see the stars, the moon and the night sky for a while or at least until the environment decided to differ. But for the moment as far as they could see, they would be free from total jungle for a while. They begin once more the process of setting up for the night. Another night in the wilderness, at least not in the jungle they both thought, and were both happy about that. A year ago they crossed the river and entered into the jungle city where they were greeted by very friendly people. After a few week's, the village elders hand crafted the couple a portable tent, after hearing a story about the time they got caught in the rain. The gifts were presented to them as a gift during a large gathering in the village center, a very amazing festival they both thought at the time. The area they had crossed at, which was secured with a bridge years ago for the people was megalithic. The bridge was constructed with huge granite columns that connected to a suspension style bridge system that then connecting one side of the river to the other. This river bridge that the jungle contained was only one hidden part of the discovery. Because hidden beyond a wall of dense jungle, was a river basin so vast that it trumped every river Seth and Mary had ever seen. They quickly realized they had discover a large city after crossing the bridge and entered the jungle, cause behind the wall of trees was constructed a whole new area: a thriving metropolis right on the banks of the river. There must have been 10,000 thousand people operating the village, or empire if you would prefer. The market is active as can be, people were buying, selling and trading there product. When they exited the jungle after crossing the bridge they were led directly to the heart of the city. The bridge they stumbled upon was connected to a large heavily traveled path. A roadway or a well tracked path so to speak, and this path came out of the jungle, across the bridge and right in to the heart of the thriving oasis. At the center of all the activity was a large fountain, around the fountain set up in organized fashion was people of the land. They have developed over the years, a system for displaying there products. The products and services they offered to the people. A market square or an area for all them to meet daily with there goods and services. They begin their movement through the city, around commotion and staying out of the way as much as possible. The people were very friendly, very busy and even spoke the same native language. There are many forms of currency in Pangea. The currency system is more of an exchange barter, it seems as if everything from metals and bullion to seeds and fruit is being traded here. Everyone seemed to be really happy and got alone really well. Seth nor Mary expected anything less of Pangea. The markets were busy and the harbors were active as well. Fishermen were hauling in their prepared catch to exchange for this and that and then eventually the fish would make there way inland to the neighboring villages. Coastal regions were hauling in there fruits and nuts for the market exchange. There was a walkway and wall constructed for people to walk and fish next to a loading and docking area for the boats and sea craft. Here is were Seth and Mary stood out of the way, watched the water for a moment while collecting there thoughts. They constructed a plan to take up camp in the hills right outside of the city near the river. Here is where they could collect their thoughts, regroup and carry on with there travels after resting up and refilling materials. Next to the waters edge is where they take a seat and watch, wait and begin to think about signs that may contribute to their objectives. They conversed amongst the crowd for a few hours when out of nowhere a cargo ship appeared: that's when he then realized what a group of men near the shipping dock was doing, they had been preparing materials to load upon a sea craft. Now at this point Seth was extremely interested because he was constructing his own economic mind frame. He also takes notes on the economic activity, progress and other points of interests that he feels the students should know. Furthermore he is also a hobbyist map artist, so these activities are important to his creative doctrine that he builds in his mind. Mary takes interest in a colorful fruit that she had never seen before as Seth takes interest in the docking sea craft. He waits for the craft as she begins a conversation with the vendor of the fruit. A older women must be between the ages of 75 to 95. Really old and healthy, as far as she had known she could have far exceed 100. Everyone was all so healthy and vital, so it was really hard to say. The sea vessel docks, a few people began to un-board, not many people, all men, no women or children. A few of the men begin to load supplies onto and off the ship. Not a whole lot, only a few thousand pounds of merchandise. That would only take a few minutes to load or unload. From the looks of the labor force at work here. He makes his way over to a gentleman waiting by a medium size pile supplies on the loading dock right next to where the passengers exited the craft. Hello sir... Seth spoke to the gentleman introducing himself. Hello Seth! the man acting as workforce or what he now knows as a deckhand, responded and then introduced himself as Peter. Seth and Peter begin to communicate back and forth: Seth was interested in the sea-craft and where it may be headed as well as information about the cargo. Import and export; goods coming and going locations as apart of his economic research. Peter tells Seth the cargo that he is in charge of comes from inland and is shipped to a neighboring village. Their were fruits and vegetables here that Seth had never seen before either, and was aware of fishing crafts but never knew they had built sea-crafts specifically for transporting goods by sea. Peter age 29, was a economics professor, a gardener and deckhand to a fleet of sea craft with his own team of men to labor alongside him on various work assignments. After a short time talking to the man he quickly realized that he was keeping the man from his work. Seth recognized that it was his job to load the materials onto the craft, he then ask the man if he could help assist him in return for disturbing him or his job; the man kindly refused that dynamic however happily asked if he would be interested in revealing more about himself, and if he would like to reveal while assisting him in that nature. Seth gladly accepted that proposal and begin to connect to Peter through labor, laughter and wisdom while revealing to Peter who he is and what they represent. Mary is sharing a moment with the lady merchant that is displaying fruit by the market pier when out of nowhere a young women bumped into her due to all the commotion and activity going on around them. My apologies madam I didn't mean to run into you the lady spoke softly and very politely. The fruit stand was close to a active path of travel, not too close to the pier but set apart just to the side, right next to a alley between the fish market area and fruit market area; the most perfect place that a merchant could establish a point of display. Oah no problem at all! that's perfectly fine my name is Mary. Mary then extended her hand for the introduction, hello Mary my name is Isabella. Isabella introduced herself as the local flourish. Right across from the fruit vendor. Her display displayed a variety of colors. Several flower species known and unknown. Although the one's known were only known by color and region of growth but never given a name. Isabella was a dazzling beautiful women with blond hair, blue eyes and about the same age as Mary. They spoke for a few moments and became very close friends right away. Isabella and her grandmother, the lady with the fruit stand right across from her introduced as Victoria: live on a small farm plot right outside the city gates, to the east of the city. There they have a few fruit trees and a few small game birds they maintain and raise for market value. In this economy the main value of trade is medals. Some of the vendors here actually accepted dairy, poultry, livestock and even flower bulbs. They were a very functional group and very established economy. A few hours later Seth walks out of the crowd of people with a rather calm and delightful vibe coming from him. He spots Mary alone with 2 other women. They were sitting by a display of flowers. A round table designed to seat 2 to 3 people, with stool-like chairs that sat the person up higher than normal. A very interesting sense, and culture he thought to himself on the approach. Hello Mary, who are your friends? Seth appears from nowhere, they were having such a good time they never even seen him coming. She was actually happy to see him. They  invited him over and begin to introduce him to the people she had just met. Isabella was 25, her grandmother was Victoria, age 80 and they remained with them on there farm for six months, the city of Eden.
