I know that you're waiting Alaina I’d been working alongside Luca for over a month now. Things were hectic and we barely had a chance to talk between meetings apart from about the next plan of action for the upcoming meeting. I must admit that we work well together, his father truly knew what he was doing when he had sent me here to work alongside Luca we were the glue or the foundation of this company without or either of us it was bound to fell and come crashing down to the ground, though his father was trying out his matchmaking techniques out on the both of us trying to get us back together it was failing right now. “Dad stop please, stop trying to get us back together.” “What’s the shame in it son? I like the girl.” “So do I, but right now is not the time or the place. She will forgive me in her own time dad until then drop this obsession you gave of getting us back together.” “You screwed up Luca, she was your saviour from our lifestyle. You could’ve done much more right now if you’d have just kept your cool.” “I know dad I’ve apologised, it's up to her now if she ever forgives me.” “You need to try harder, Luca. I want you to marry and have kids before it’s too late for me to spend quality time with them.” “I know dad but I need more time for her to recluse. I’m not that jumped up prick that tried to take everything away from her.” “Make it quick Luca. I won’t live forever and that prick as you put it is always two steps in front he is aware you two are no longer together he will try everything in his power to get her back.” “He wanted her dead or did he forget that minor detail?” “I know, son. But we all know Elijah Rivera, he doesn’t like his possessions to be taken away from him.” “She doesn’t belong to him dad, she's a person not a possession.” “We both know that son but he has a very twisted way of seeing things.” “No s**t Sherlock. He won’t have her dad. I won’t let him. She means everything to me.” “We’ll make sure she knows that and marry her Luca before he take her away and drills his poison into her head again.” “I will dad. I promise you I will. And I promise Alaina she will never have to ever go back to him again.” I smiled. They were unaware that I was listening in to their private conversation. I know I shouldn’t, but they were shouting and not caring who was listening. I knocked on the door. “COME IN!” SHIT He sounded angry. I guess he had every right to be. I slowly opened the door, stepping in. His once angered features softened. “Alaina.” “Good afternoon sirs, I'm sorry to disturb you.” “It’s okay Alaina, we’ve finished now. How can I help you?” “We have a meeting in ten minutes Luca, Mr Romero.” “Thanks Alaina, let's go.” I smiled. We all headed out of the office heading to the bird room Thor the meeting. Luca leaned over. “I know you were listening in toresso.” “I would never!” I gushed. “You don’t have to lie to me Alaina.” “I’m n..” “Don’t lie to me Alaina or you’ll get punished and I’ll o make sure you enjoy every second.” 'Cause love is worth saving Luca I’ve never once in my life met a woman like her. She took my heart eight years ago and it has never stopped beating once for her. I have to make things right between us. I made a huge mistake back when she changed Uni’s instead of being supportive. I threw a hissy fit because she was going to be away from me for two years. I should’ve realised what that Jackass was up to the moment he asked her to work alongside him and the asshole had the nerve to go around his office and disconnect all of the f*****g cameras how he found all of them is beyond me. They were all well hidden and so small even a mouse wouldn’t have found them, but he did. I can’t believe he pushed himself on to her. I was f*****g fuming. I was so angry when she told me what had been going on and blamed me for allowing him to get that close to her, and how the hell was I I was suppose to protect her and stop s**t like this from happening. I had failed her so much she wanted to move Universities. I told her to stick with it a little longer. Her words were “Screw you. You don't care about me, just about yourself and keeping me close. I’m not a f*****g toy to be picked up and thrown back down when it suits you. I trusted you and this is how you repay me by almost getting me raped. I'm leaving Luca whether you like it or not so f*****g deal with it!” I was so angry with her and myself. How could she even think that I wouldn’t protect her from that asshole? I’d felt as if I failed so when the university closed for the night. I snuck in and went to his office and started snooping around and found all the cameras were off line the bastard. He swivelled his chair around I hadn’t even noticed anyone there as it was so f*****g dark. “I wondered how long it would take you to come here and realise the cameras aren't working.” He grinned evilly. I wanted to smack that smirk right off that slimy face of his. “How did you even know?” He grinned evilly. “Quite simple really. I used the same cameras in Elijah’s home to see why he wanted to do away with his own f*****g wife. You see, Mr. Romero. When Alaina began here he asked me to keep tabs on her to make sure she didn’t end up in the wrong crowd of students. Obviously I didn’t do my job correctly because she needed up in your company.” He leaned back in his chair. “I wanted to make sure she got through her four years here without distraction. I’m sorry to say this Mr. Romero you're a f*****g distraction.” “What the f**k did I ever do to you? I’m a model student. I have the best fuckin grades here and so does Alaina. So why the f**k are you targeting us or me?” “Frankly Mr. Romero Miss. Hampshire can do a lot better than you and I’m here to make sure she does.” “By destroying her future, her self worth? So you can get your d**k into her?” “If you put it like that, yes.” “You are really an asshole like everyone says you are.” “Why thank you Mr. Romero.” “You’re forgetting one thing Dean.” “And wanted that?” “You were set to do away with her, do you really think she’ll want anything to do with you after that?” He smirked evilly. “Oh she will once she finds out your true colours Mr. Romero.” God I wanted to break his face and every bone. And I knew I could. “Well I guess you won’t.” “And why’s that Mr. Romero?” “She won’t be here, so I guess you’ll never find out.” His face dropped. “What do you mean she won’t be here?” “Oops, did she forget to mention that she’s leaving.” “No she can't, I paid her fees till next year.” “No one asked you to, Dean.” I turned away to walk out. “She can’t do this, I won’t allow her to.” “Oh she is.” I paused. “Oh, and one more thing Dean.” My fist shot forward smacking him in between his eyes snapping the bone in his nose. “That’s just a warring that if go anywhere near Alaina oI try this s**t again with her I’ll f*****g kill you are we understood?” He nodded. Good. I turned and strode out of his office with a smile on my face. A month later Alaina moved universities and had moved in with another girl and two boys. I was not sure about the living arrangements but she said she’d be fine. I wasn’t too sure about her living with two guys, girls I had no qualms with but living with guys was a big No no. My jealousy took over my love for her and my trust. I called her some horrible names and lashed out at her, something I’d never done before she screamed at me to get out and never come back. I’d regretted it everyday after Jasper had stayed with her over the summer and said she was a mess. I wanted to make it up to her and apologise for my actions but she had blocked me off everything we ever shared together her status went from in a relationship to single. If Elijah ever got wind of it he’d be sure to try and get her back even if he had got a hit on her, he would do anything in his power to get her back to him so he could do god knows what with her even finish what the Dean couldn’t. “Earth to Luca!” “Mmh.” I said, Alaina's hand waving frantically in front of my face. “Sorry I was miles away. What did you say?” “I said we’ve got a meeting in ten in the boardroom. It's important, Luca. It could be big business for this place if we get them on board and sign the contract with them.” “Sure thanks for reminding me Alaina.” “My pleasure.” I pulled myself up out of the chair and followed her out of the office. She was such a life saver and had done so much for this company so far. “So what was so important you phased out?” “Just thinking about the past and how I messed up and how I wanted to make it right.” She smiled. “The past stays in the past Luca, focus on the now.” “So does that mean I still have a chance to get things right with you?” “We’ll see Luca, let's just concentrate on bagging this contract right now.” “Yes ma’am.” I smiled winking She laughed out loud. At least it was a good start. I hadn’t heard her laugh like that since we were in uni together.
