Two worlds that should never collide Alaina I have never felt so alone as the day that I began at Riviera enterprises. I swear Elijah Rivera held a grudge against me for wanting to intern there. He made my life a living hell. I couldn’t even do my dream job in fashion retail cause he was a complete d**k and he wanted me to do my whole internship with him at his beck and call five days a week when I was supposed to split my time up between the two which he blatantly denied. I also couldn’t believe my parents left me with all their debt and I couldn’t pay it all and lost the house; Elijah had offered a way out and I stupidly took it, thinking that he would trade me better at least more decently than he did in his office what a f*****g joke, he was worse a lot worse. He was aggressive and hateful towards me. He told me a wife should be seen and not heard. He made it clear that I was there to pay my debt and he’d never love me or want me. He had other women to surface his needs and he would only come to me if he wasn’t satisfied. He came to me when he was drunk and wasn’t pleased when I tired to reject him, so he just took. I f*****g hate him I f*****g hate him for what he’s put me through I f*****g hate him to death I f*****g hate him full stop I f*****g hate him I will get my divorce no matter what it takes. I will take these four years to be myself, make friends and plan a way to divorce Elijah f*****g Rivera. My mobile buzzed ffs. I pulled it out my pocket looking at his name flashing in my screen should I answer it should I not? Fuck it I have no choice or he’ll keep ringing and I’ll get kicked out of my lectures. I answered the call clearly annoyed that I got disturbed the first day here. “What?!!” “Hello to you too.” “What do you want Elijah?” “To see if you're settling in okay.” “I’m fine. I’m on my way to a lecture.” “So, how did your meeting go with the Dean?” “Good.” “Excellent.” “You never mentioned you knew him.” “Must’ve slipped my mind.” He said. Changing the subject. “So how do you like your apartment?” “It’s nice. Why did you bother Elijah? I could’ve stayed in the dorms.” “No wife of mine is staying in the dorms.” “Of course not.” I said, feeling exasperated. “You could at least be appreciative and say thank you.” “Thank you Elijah, though there was no need.” “You’re welcome.” “I have to go Elijah or I’ll be late for my next lecture.” “Sure, I’ll call you later.” “Whatever,” I said, hanging up, slipping my mobile into my pocket taking a look at my timetable and map trying to work out where my first lecture is. I walked down the corridor trying to find my lecture and trying to find the room I need to be in for my lecture. I wish I had a tour guide, but I guess starting this late in the year wasn't helping. Suddenly I crashed into a brick wall with feet, s**t this wasn’t my f*****g day. “I’m sorry.” “That’s fine princess, where are you heading?” A gruff yet sexy voice asked. I looked up, f**k we’re all the guys here as sexy as hell? “Sorry again. I was trying to follow the map.” He smiled. “Where are you heading? I may be able to help.” “Oh.” I looked at my schedule. “Room 10 b.” He laughed. “You’re going the completely wrong way, come on.” “Haven’t you got a lecture?” “In an hour yes.” “Oh okay.’ “Follow me princess.” “Sure.” We turned around and I flolowed through the maze of corridors stupid goddamn map or my stupid lack of direction. “So are you new here?” “I am, it’s my first day. You?” “No second year.” I nodded. “Luca Romero.” He said, holding out his hand. “Alaina Rivera.” He took my hand in his shaking and kissed it. “So, you’re married?” Unfortunately.” I said under my breath. “Yeah”’ He grinned, but didn’t seem too happy with the fact I was. “Maybe I can change that.” He said in a low voice. “What?” “Nothing princess. I was just wondering if you would like to have lunch with me?” “Are you sure? I mean.” “I am that ring doesn’t bother me Angel. We can always change it.” “Hugh?” “I mean. I’d like to be friends with you.” ‘I’d like that.’ He smiled. “Well here we are.” “Thanks.’ “No problem princess. I’ll see you at lunch.’ “Where am I going to meet you.’ “The cafeteria down stairs just follow the smell and you'll find it.’ “Thanks again for showing me to the room.’ “My pleasure princess. If you have any spare time I’d like to give you a tour and show you around, so you’ll know where all your lectures are.” “That’ll be great, thanks.” “I’ll see you at lunch.” “You will.” He kissed my cheek and walked away. I smiled entering my first lecture of the day unaware that befriending Luca Romero would not end good. He smiled at me as I finally found the cafeteria which was buzzing with students. “So you found it alright you didn’t get lost?” He grinned. “Yeah thanks. I’m s**t at following maps.” “So I gathered. Come on princess, we can get something to eat and talk.” “Sure.” We joined the queue and everyone seemed to part as soon as we got near, strange. ‘Come on princess.’ He said taking my hand guiding me to the food didn't look very advertising but I was hungry. “Maybe tomorrow we can grab something at the restaurant nearby.” “Maybe.” He smirked. We paid for our meals and made our way over to an empty table with many students staring, either scared or damn right jelous, but why had they got to be jealous, sure he was as sexy as f**k but I was just an ordinary student. We sat down. “You okay cara?” “Yeah, why is everyone staring, have I done something to offend them?” He chuckled. “No cara they are just looking cause you’re new, and with me no biggy.” “It seems to be, to them.” “Ignore them Cara.” Easier said than done. “Okay.’ He smiled. “So, have you any plans whilst you are here?” “None, apart from getting a job.” He smiled. “I know just the place.” I smiled. After university finished Luca met me and we headed down to a well established far and restaurant. “How old are you cara?” “Nineteen.” He smiled. “Well I’ll introduce you to the manager, you can choose whether you want to work at the bar or serve meals.” He then introduced me to the manager, a big built scary guy with tattoos named Marco. He was really pleasant considering he looked as mean as hell. We shook hands and I signed the contract.
