CHAPTER 11

Skylar POV

After Damian told us that it was dinner time we went inside and we entred the living room. There in the middle was a very big and long table with chairs around it and there were already some pack members. Damian sat at the head of the table with Trevor on his left and next to him his mate Emily, while Justin sat on his right and next to him Dustin, me and Juliet.

I was a bit confused shouldn't the Luna of the pack be at his right? That reminds me I have never seen the Luna since I came here.

"Hey July, where is Damian's mate and Luna?" I asked her in a whisper. She stiffened at first the she looked at me sadly and said "Angela, Damian's mate, died four years ago in the war againt rogues. Even the former Alpha and Luna of the pack died that day"

"Oh" was all my genius brain could answer. I didn't know what to say. Poor Damian he must suffered a lot, having your mate die is worse than being rejected especially if you already mated with them because you already learned to love them and cherich them, while when you are rejected, it's true that is hurts a lot and your heart break, but you know they are still alive and happy and they could always take you back and you could live happily ever after. Not that I will take Jack back he was too selfish and hurted too much to want him back.

"Skylaaaaar!!" Cody shouted and came running to me and I took him and placed him on my laps. Poor baby he was a year old when his mom died. "I missed you! I wanted to introduce you to my friends and play with us but I didn't find you anywhere" he pouted and frowned. He was such an adorable kid. "I missed you too buddy! And I am sorry I couldn't play with you but I have been busy all day. How about we play tomorrow after breakfast?" "Pinkie promise?" "Pinkie promise" and we linked our pinkies. "YAAAY! I am going to tell Lisa, Alex and Timmy" he said excited and run to the kids table to tell his friend. I laughed at his excitement. I loved children but for some reason Cody room a special place in my heart. It was hard not to love him he was so adorable and lively.

I turned back in my place and found that everyone was looking at me with a kind smile except for a girl with dark brown hair and light brown eyes that was glaring at me from the other side of the table. What was her problem? I don't even know her and she seems she already hates me.

Then a lady came followed by other pack members with plates full of food placed in their hands. They put everything on the table and sat down with us. The lady sat next to Juliet and I could see that they looked very much alike with fiery red hair and the lady had green eyes the same as the green eye of July. She must be her mom.

"Mom, this is Skylar the girl I talked you about. Skylar this is my mom Maria Parker and an amazing cook" "Nice to meet you Mrs Parker" "Oh dear you can call me Maria. I am happy I've got finally to meet you" she said with a warm smile.

After everyone was settled we started to eat. Wow this food is really delicious I couldn't stop the moan escaping from my mouth at the amazing taste. July laughed at me and said "yes Mom's food have this effect on people when they try it for the first time. I am curious to know what effect the dessert would have on you" I looked around and sure enough everyone was looking at me with amusment, and I just blushed. It's seems that since I came here I blushed a lot. Then Damian cleared his throat and everybody's attention went to him. I silently thanked him for taking the attention from me, I wasn't used too much to people attention and in my old pack the only attentions I got where bad ones.

"Everyone, I am sure you all have noticed that we have a new pack member. Her name is Skylar James and I want all of you to welcome her ant treat her with respect. Tomorrow night we will have the welcoming ceremony to officially make Skylar a pack member. I would like for everyone to help in the preparations and since tomorrow is a Sunday nobody has school or work to do" he said and everyone nodded and then he looked at Maria and asked her "Maria, take us many women and girls you need to help you with the food and decoration. You are the best Cook I know and I am sure everything will be amazing as always" "Of course, I will do it with pleasure"

We finished the delicious food and helped cleaning up everything. Some people went to their houses or room while me, July, Damian, Trevor, Emily and the twins went to watch a movie before we go to sleep. We all sat comfortably on the couches and Dustin put on a Horror movie called Truth or Dare.

After an half hour into the movie I felt a brutal pain from my insides, it started from my stomach and expanded to my chest. I fell off to the ground clutching my chest with hand and my stomach with other screaming.

"Skylar what's happening?? Why are you screaming" someone shouted I couldn't tell who because the pain was so much I couldn't concentrate on anything else.

"Damian what is happening to Skylar. We need to took her to the doctor!!" "No this is something a doctor can't help her with" "What are you talking about? Why can't a doctor help her" "Her mate is mating with someone else and whit this he is breaking the mate bond with Skylar. And because he is the one who rejected her he won't feel anything" I could hear the anger in his voice and gasps coming from the others. So that stupid mutt is mating with someone, I know I should fell sad and upset but I don't, I just want this pain to stop. Then I felt someone's soothing touch in my back and for some reason the pain started to subside and I could feel myself drifting to sleep.

I woke up to the sun shining through the window. I was confused I don't remember coming to my room. I remember that after dinner we watched a movie then everything came rushing to me, the pain, Jack mating with someone, the soothing touch and the welcoming the darkness. That means someone brought me her but I can't remember who. The I noticed that the bond with Jack was very weak, now I don't feel the need to be with him. To break the bond completely I need someone to mark me and mate with me or for one of us to die.

I went to the bathroom and took a very long and relaxing shower, after that I put on some blue skinny jeans and a white T-shirt, I left my hair down and put on black converse. I went downstairs and into the kitchen to eat something, as I got there I stopped on the door, Damian's scent was even stronger than before it made me feel weak in my knees and I grabbed the side of the door so I won't fall.

Here in front of me was Damian's back, more importantly a naked Damian's back. Oh my god his back was perfect, he had muscles in every right place in the right amount making him look strong but not a bodybuilder. I could see his back tense, I think he knew I was here, and I was right he relaxed and turned around. I could feel knees weaken even more at the sight in front of me and I just gripped the door even more, I am sure with all the pressure I was putting on it it will leave my hand marks. This boy in front of me was mouthwatering, he stood there like a billion dollars worth statue with his board shoulders and his eight pack. Yeah you heard me he has a perfect eight pack. I so much wanted to run my fingers on his naked chest and stomach and.... Come on Sky you sound like a pervert pull yourself out from your trance.

"Good morning Skylar" he said and then he gave me his charming smile. Ok I think I just died and went to heaven. Why is this boy affecting me so much not even Jack had this strong effect on me and he is my mate, well I should say ex-mate. Not trusting my own voice I just nodded at him. He chuckled and said "the pack is training in this moment, I didn't want to wake up, after what happened yesterday evening I wanted you to rest as much as possible. If you want you can join and then we all will come and have breakfast" I just nodded again letting him know that I will join them.

"Oh and I called the council this morning and told them everything. They said they will come here in a month and they sounded very excited to meet you" he said and went back to training. When I could feel my knees again I rushed upstairs and to my room to change into some back sport shorts and black sport bra and I put a large white T-shirt that showed one of my shoulders. After putting my hair in a high ponytail I went to train with the pack.

After training I was really tired, I have never trained like this well more precisely I have never trained, my old pack didn't allow me to train with them saying that I didn't deserve it and I just needed to do my slave job, but I think they were afraid I could become stronger and challenge. We all then went to have a much needed breakfast while chatting and laughing.

"Skylar, Skylar. You promised me you will play with us after breakfast...come one let's go outside to play" Cody said jumping up and down. His happy mood was contagious. I promised July that I will help her with the decorations after and followed Cody outside to find Lisa and other two little boys.

"Guys! I brought Skylar and now we can play" Cody said very excited.

I smiled at them and introduced myself "hello boys! My name is Skylar and I am 16 years old"

They all waved back saying hi and then the one at the right said "hi! My name is Alex and I am five" he was a very cute little boy with light brown hair and blue eyes.

Then the boy next to his said "hello! My name is Timmy and I am Foul" pointing four fingers. He also was very cute with blonde hair and brown eyes.

We played for about two hourse. I enjoyed every minute of it. I promised them that I will play with them again and then I went inside to find July so I could help her. I found her in the back yard with Dustin, Justin and some other boys and girls. The boys were putting tables and chairs while the girls were decorating everything.

I went to July and started helping her, she was attaching some decoration with roses and leafs on the table and chairs. I took some decoration and started on another table. When it was lunch time Maria came and gave all of us some delicious sandwiches. After eating them we went back to work.

We finished at 15:10, and the ceremony will start at 18:00 so we still had time.

"Come on we need to get you ready" July said taking my hand and dragging me to the house and I presume to my room "you need to take a shower while I will chose the dress you will wear and then I will do your make up and hair" she seemed very excited I think she liked dolling people up.

"Is the dress necessary, can't i wear just some jeans and shirt?" I asked her. It's not like I don't like dresses I have never wore one to decide if I liked them or not. But the idea of being in the centre of attention made me very nervous and wearing a party dress won't help.

"Oh No! The ceremony is in your honor so you need to be elegant and fancy"

Well I just hope everything goes well and that the pack would accept me.
