Chapter 1: Then please me
Alicia slowly opened her sleepy eyes, reflected in the eyes is a pair of deep cold eyes. The man in front of her eyes, eyebrows through the sharp, wolf-like deep pupils, is a high and straight nose, knife-like thin lips tightly pursed. Although he was sitting in a wheelchair, his body exuded an aura of rejection, as if he had formed a cold world of his own.
“Emily?” The man's low voice rang out.
Alicia froze for only an instant before she quickly sat up from the bed and looked at the other woman with a panicked expression. She nodded nervously, her heart in her throat. After all, she had married into the Morrison family in Emily's place, so how could she dare to expose her identity.
“Hmph.” A coldness floated out of the corner of Lucas's eyes as he pulled out an envelope from his pocket and “snapped” threw it in front of Alicia. Alicia carefully took it and opened it, inside was Emily's photo and information. It seemed that he had already found out the details of the person he was going to marry. Just, why did he not say anything at the wedding?
Alicia's hand squeezing the envelope tightened slightly, and she bit her lower lip, her obsidian eyes stealing a glance at Lucas, forcing her composure.
“Does your family think that just because I, Lucas Morrison, have a disabled leg, that I can just find someone to lay on me?”
Alicia stood up, her wedding dress dragging on the floor as she lowered her eyes, her voice carrying a hint of a tremor, “I'm a daughter of the family, too.”
“The daughter of a recent divorcee? What does your family think the Morrison family is, a trash shelter?”
These blunt and humiliating words made Alicia want to find a crack in the ground. It was true that second marriage women were easily disliked, and that was precisely why she was forced by her family to marry in.
Without waiting for Alicia to open her mouth, the man's icy voice came again, like a pot of cold water pouring down, “I'll give you five minutes, go out and explain things clearly, get out of Morrison's house.”
What? Alicia's eyes snapped up, running straight into his gaze.
“No!” She couldn't go. If she went out and admitted it, the family would have no place in the New York business community.
Alicia took a deep breath, carried the hem of her wedding dress to Lucas, and explained softly, “My sister has a boyfriend, and she doesn't want to marry into the Morrison family.”
“So, you took the liberty of marrying her for her?” Lucas' lips curled into a mocking smile, extraordinarily harsh.
Alicia gathered her courage and raised her eyes to meet his cold eyes, “I know this is a marriage arranged by the family, and to you, it's the same to marry whoever you want, otherwise you wouldn't have agreed to this marriage. Instead of finding someone else, why don't you let me stay and I promise we won't interfere with each other.” Saying that, Alicia raised her hands, her eyes firm and with a hint of caution, afraid that he would refuse.
Lucas narrowed his eyes, sizing her up like prey. At the end, his thin lips hummed lightly, “What kind of woman would I want that I can't get, would I want one like you?”
Alicia's face instantly turned pale, her lips trembling slightly. Before she could speak again, Lucas had already turned around and pushed the wheelchair away. Alicia was stunned for a few seconds and wanted to chase after him, but was stopped by the bodyguard: “Miss, please behave yourself!”
Looking at Lucas's cold back, Alicia's heart was burning with anxiety, and she yelled at his back, “If you don't let me stay, I'll tell everyone you can't!” As soon as the words left her mouth, she also gave up.
These words caused Lucas to pause even with his wheelchair, his body didn't move, his head turned slightly, the remaining light from the corner of his eye was chilling, and his voice seemed to be coming from hell, “Who are you saying you can't?”
Lucas's dangerous eyes were like beasts hibernating in the darkness of the night, as if Alicia would pounce and tear her apart if she said one more word. Obviously a man with leg problems, how could the aura on his body be so powerful? There was no way back for Alicia, she gritted her teeth, clenched her fists, and stubbornly locked eyes with Lucas, “Unless you let me stay.”
Tom, the butler at the side, was stunned, this new young granny looked petite and cute, but her guts were not small, she dared to mess with the second young master of their family.
Lucas turned his wheelchair towards her and slowly approached. His gaze was as dark as ink, permeated with a sense of oppression. Alicia subconsciously took two steps back. In the blink of an eye, Lucas had already arrived in front of her, and in a swift movement, he raised his hand and clasped her slender wrist, “You just, said who can't?”
“You, you let go of me ......” The sudden proximity made Alicia panic, the strong male scent of his body wrapped her tightly, domineering and dangerous. This feeling reminded Alicia of that night a month ago. The man in the car at that time had the same scent as the person in front of her. Alicia's face went a few shades of white again, how could she remember that night again, it was like a disgrace to her.
“So much for trying to be the Morrison's youngest grandmother by any means necessary?”
Frozen in thought, Lucas's voice pulled Alicia's thoughts back. Her eyes widened and a fine bead of sweat oozed from her forehead, “Didn't you go along with this wedding? You knew all along that I wasn't Emily and you didn't break me down at the wedding.”
“So?”
“You let go of me first.” Alicia struggled and pushed him.
“Hmph.” Lucas sneered, “A woman in her second marriage and so nervous? Have you never experienced a man before?”
Alicia stubbornly locked eyes with him, “Don't you bully me too much!”
“You can stay if you want, please me.” Lucas had seen a lot of women like this who married for honor and glory instead.
Alicia blanched and her lips trembled.
“Can't do it?” Lucas' gaze darkened as he cupped her chin with one hand, his thin lips spitting out a few words, “It seems it's not that I can't do it, it's that you make it uninteresting.” With that, he pushed her away with one hand.
Alicia stumbled and fell backward, leaning against the door panel and looking at Lucas woefully. Lucas instructed his assistant to push him away, and Alicia looked at the backs of the two men, biting her bottom lip softly. Had she made it? Was it possible to stay? She reached up and rubbed her sorely pinched jaw as she returned to her new room.
After ten minutes of waiting, there was no movement. Alicia sighed in relief, it seemed that she was safe for now.
