CHAPTER NINE Eva hurried as best she could back into the conference room, the secure glass beginning to slide across before she had made it through. Madden narrowly avoided being trapped, jumping through at the last second. Having sensed the lack of sympathy towards their plight in the moments before the alarm, Eva suspected to trap him was Larter’s intention; Madden was clearly still a prize. Despite the cold, the room began to smell of sweat, a foul onion reek. A desperate look of panic had begun to show on their host’s face.
