Asylum

Staring at the naked man before me, I stuggled to find any words to describe what I was doing crossing onto their land, I knew I had to say something soon or they would kill me. I could feel my energy draining rapidly after the run and suddenly thought of the only thing that might convey the severity of the situation as I heard growls coming from the distance behind me. The warriors were coming to find me to avenge their alpha so I only had a few seconds.
“asylum” I gasped “please grant me asylum I will die if I stay with this pack”
The wolves in front of me shifted uncomfortably and I knew they were mind linking each other to discuss what the best option would be, then the massive man in front of me, who had mercifully managed to acquire a pair of basketball shorts that must have been in a nearby tree, leant down infront of my face and spoke.
“We shall grant you asylum, you will be brought to our pack house and secured in our dungeons until such time as the Alpha has decided where you shall remain”
I whimpered
“so in going to be trapped with you just as I was with them, will you chain me and whip me just because I exist”
This brought them all to stop and stare in disbelief, so I dropped the shoulder of my jumper to show them a few of the scars that littered my skin, to prove I was needing asylum.
“please don’t hurt me, I need safe, I have hope I can survive”
At this point I could feel my face wet with tears and my vison starting to go black round the edges, I was going to pass out very soon.
“you have my oath that I will never lay a finger on you or hurt you, no we must get moving before the other wolves arrive so they cannot trace you if you want to be safe this is your only chance, you seem weak, I am going to place you onto one of the warriors backs and he will carry you. My name is Beta Luke I am granting you temporary asylum to the Dark moon pack”
I felt him gently pick me up and place me on the back of a nearby wolf, who’s fur was tawny and soft, I rested my head in between its shoulder blades knowing I couldn’t keep it up, and fought to keep myself from passing out as we started to make our way to wherever they were taking me. But I lost that fight and lost consciousness just after I saw Beta Luke change back into his massive black wolf.
I could hear voices whispering around me but couldn’t make sense of them, panic set in, I was back in the torture room, the pain was going to come again, I could already feel the whip and the hot torches, I could hear the chains rattling , my breathing started to go manic,
“no please no, please don’t, please, im sorry, don’t hurt me”
The whispering around me stopped, and I froze, here it came I was going to pay for that, I always did. Then I felt a hand take mine. Sparks tingled where the hand touched me, and I gentle deep voice said.
“No one is going to hurt you, please open your eyes for me, your safe I promise”
He sounded terrified for me, and what was with this tingling sensation, I tried to open my eyes, it was a struggle, they felt like they were filled with glue, but I managed to open them enough to see the man who was sitting there holding my hand, I was enraptured.
He had to be the most beautiful man I had ever seen in my life, tan skin peeking out from beneath a fitted v neck t-shirt, a small amount of chest hair visible, chiselled jaw and prominent cheekbones with big dark green eyes surrounded by thick lashes, his expression held no anger just worry, like he couldn’t seem to figure out what to do, but I could tell by the way he was looking at me that he wanted to help. And those tingles were still encompassing my hand where his skin touched mine.
“wh-who are y-you” I managed to stammer my voice seemed to be weak and hoarse.
He looked into my eyes and smiled gently “my name is Reece and I am alpha of the dark moon pack, you are in our hospital, my beta bought you to me and I have been waiting here for you to wake up”
“why have you been waiting for me to wake up? I thought I was supposed to be held in the dungeon until you had time to see me”
A deep growl issued from his throat, and his head whipped around to his beta, “THE DUNGEON! HOW DARE YOU THREATEN TO PUT MY MATE IN THE DUNGEON!” he shouted as he walked over and punched him square in the nose
“I’m sorry alpha we were unaware she was your mate at the time, you were still looking for her, how were we to know that she wasn’t just some random rouge” beta Luke quickly said before the alpha could punch him again
“GET OUT OF MY SIGHT” alpha Reece shouted.
Beta Luke glance once at me sitting on the bed, knees curled to my chest shaking, and scurried out of the room whispering a quick and quiet apology that I was surprised I could hear. Alpha Reece turned back towards me his gaze softening again.
“My mate? No, you can’t be, I just rejected my mate” I uttered scared and confused
The alpha looked confused , but he took my hand again and said
“can’t you feel that, the electricity between us, can’t you smell me, I sensed you as you crossed into my lands, I felt my team bringing you closer, the moment they arrived I brought you here to the hospital, I couldn’t believe how frail you looked, the my beta told me you were seeking asylum and you had shown them evidence of torture and I broke down, I have been waiting for you for 6 years, wondering if I would ever find my destined mate, then to find out you had been tortured, and now to find out you have just rejected your mate I feel like I should be happy I was willing to wait, I get a chance to treat you the way you deserve to be treated, show you there is a different way. See what your wolf thinks, she what she sensed about me, please, I know you won’t trust me straight away but I promise I am here for you however you need”
His grip on my hand had become firm and pleading while he spoke, I didn’t know what to say so I chose to take his request and turned my thoughts inward to speak to my wolf.
‘is he really my mate saffron? Do I get a second chance already’
‘yes my dear he is ours and his wolf has already spoken to me, they are worthy of us and we can trust them with our secrets, you have to tell him what we did, he can help us’
‘are you sure’ I asked back nervously ‘what if he turns on us for it, it seems wrong’
She giggled ‘he would never hurt you, he will do everything in his power to keep you safe’
‘ok I will try trusting him’
With that I looked back at Alpha Reece and took a deep breath
“I don’t know how, Saffron says you are my mate , she also says we can trust you and I should tell you what I did, I am hoping you won’t hate me”
His facial expression grew confused but he didn’t interrupt me
“when I rejected my Mate, he was one of my abusers and the Head warrior my old pack, the alpha was standing beside him when I rejected him and I knew I wasn’t going to make it out of there alive, but then something happened and I don’t know what it was, I went to scream but I strange melody came from my mouth instead, and I knew that alpha Luca was going to experience the unending pain he has put me through over the last eleven years. Then I just ran and left them there”
Reece leaned forward and kissed my forehead then said
“I knew there would be something special when I found my mate, you my love are a Siren wolf”
