Chapter 1 - His Slave

1308 Words
When the hard book hit me at the same moment that my classmates laughed, it hurt my face. My cheeks was flushed and my eyes were teary, but I refused to cry. I picked it up lightly and without hesitation. "You have been summoned by Blaze." I didn't need to glance up who was speaking because I knew who was it. It's Spirit: Moon Shadow's female member, of which Blaze is the commander. "Are you paying attention, you girl?" I had no choice but to look up and bow. "Certainly, Ms. Spirit." I bit my lower lip. "Come on, hurry on." I nodded and immediately took the backpack, which contained two books. Two old books in short. I sighed as my foot traced the hallway. How long can I leave this place? How long will I stay here? My heart was filled with sadness but I ignored it. I had to get to the room where I knew Blaze was waiting. I tightly hugged the book I was holding. There is the familiar anger in my heart that now resides. Yes, I'm angry. I hate Blaze and all his members! I'm mad with him, but there's nothing I can do to get out of here. This is where I think I fit in. I suppose this is where folks like me, who attend a prestigious and hidden werewolf university, fit in. I tried to run away before, but I failed. Because no matter what I do, these werewolves won't let me go. As if this is where I lived, this is where I will die. I am a prisoner. I stopped in front of the closed black door. I put the book inside my bag and took a long breath before turning the door knob. Alejandro appeared in front of me as I opened the door, causing me to shout in surprise. His laughter was as loud as the other wolves that were there. The only one who didn't laugh, was Blaze. I immediately looked down and paid them respect by bowing my head. "I guess I surprised you Cammy baby." I didn't say a word. I can't react to whatever they do to bully me. Because if I do this, they will make me even more miserable and laughed at. "Why are you late?" Blaze's voice filled the room like thunder. I simply apologize. I'm sure I'm not late. It's not enough for me to rush down the corridor, but Blaze and his friends don't care how hard or fast I try. "Take this to Scarlet," he said, hurling a large package at me. I nearly screamed because I thought it was going to hit me in the face. Alejandro's hand simply caught it and handed it to me. "Oh, that's it, Blaze ordered you to take it to Ms. Scarlet," Alejandro said, grinning and about to bite me. But, even though I know it's a joke, I'm still not used to it. I'm still always hiding in dread of them. "What are you looking at, lady? Leave!" "Yes! I'm... S-sorry." I instantly nodded and bowed to them. I was holding a box that weighed over seven kilos. It was a crimson box with a red ribbon the width of my palm. Ms. Scarlet is Blaze's half sister who is constantly his rival and argues with everything. They always fight, and occasionally it results in a fight in which I am— human, the most impacted. Yes, I am human. Blaze and the other werewolves that live or study at this campus are werewolves. They are not regular werewolves, but powerful werewolves who have lived in this hidden place for a long time. I am a student here, yet I am unhappy. I'm a prisoner. We, humans are few in number here, but as I already stated, we are prisoners. They don't hurt us or make us dinner since that is strictly forbidden, but they do bully us. Bullying at its worst. What can we do as ordinary people with no power? Nothing. This university is quite enormous. All werewolves from throughout the world gather to study here. They hone their power and wolfness here. If education is the foundation, our university does not lag behind. The truth is that all of the equipment is up to date. Teaching professors are geniuses. Some wolves are good, while others are not. Just like Blaze! He's the worst and most dangerous wolf at Sinclairs! And I hate him. As I carried the heavy box, my muscles ached. I was tempted to peek inside but opted against it. Ms. Escarlet's room is in another building and is somewhat distance away. I made it through the long hike. I didn't mind the wolves' stares. Blaze's is scarier than the others. I upped my pace even further. I have to present this box to Ms. Scarlet, or Blaze will do something to me. I practically rushed down the corridor to the other building, and when I got to her room, I took a deep breath. I gather my strength in my chest because, as I previously stated, the Scarlet and Blaze siblings have a horrible attitude. "What is that?" her voice nearly startled me. I gulped. I walked into their class just as she sat at the teacher's table. I was scared of her yellow eyes, especially when she approached me and took the box from my grasp without saying anything. "It's from Blaze—" I hadn't finished my sentence as she opened it, causing her to shout in fury and frustration. It's the head of a wild pig wrapped in plastic. 'Oh God!' My eyes widened. Blaze is trying to kill me again by doing this to his half sister. I stepped back. "b***h!" I cried as she grabbed my neck and choked me fiercely. I closed my eyes in pain! I also felt my foot lift off the floor and I was having trouble breathing. Why me? Why didn't she strangle her half-brother Blaze? Am I going to die today? But I still want to escape this place. A place where students like Blaze are not ordinary or normal! I don't want to be Blaze's servant forever. That's right, I'm Blaze's servant. His father bought me from my father when I was only two years old, therefore I am here in this hidden university to serve him forever. "Enough, Scarlet!" exclaimed someone. Scarlet's hand was lifted from my neck, and I dropped to the ground. I cried and took my breath. I'm still not used to it. It's always been this way. It is against the law to kill and harm a human like me here, but here I am, constantly being played by the werewolves around me. "You're probably aware of the law here at this University: it's forbidden to abuse or mistreat humans, even slaves." "But that b***h handed me this!" Scarlet screamed, pointing to the inside of the box containing a wild boar's head. "How about asking your half-brother Blaze there?" "Whatever," Scarlet exclaimed as she turned around. I struggled to stand up while wiping the tears from my eyes. Scarlet's strangling still hurts my neck. I really thought she was going to kill me. I didn't even dare to look at which of the wolves helped me today because I'm not allowed to look into their eyes or face. As a slave, I must always keep my head down. I only give them a passing glance that lasts less than a second. "Next time, don't obey everything Blaze tells you." As if it's even possible. If I do not obey him, I will be held accountable for him and will be severely punished. I just nodded while still bowing my head and thanked him for saving me this day then quickly said goodbye to leave.
