Enam
Watching Kymbre from afar, she looked absolutely stunningly beautiful. Even stern she spoke kindly to others. She has been a wonderful Alpha but it was time for her to step down and become the Luna she's supposed to be.
She looked over her shoulder, staring at me with disgust when she noticed me in the distance. I couldn't help but to send her a friendly wave but she instantly turned her back toward me. If possible, she was the most stubborn woman of all times.
"I've gotten our warriors settled, Alpha." Aasir came up to me, wringing his hands together. "Permission to speak out of line?"
I smirked and nodded, "Granted."
"She's fine as hell," he chuckled, shaking my shoulder.
A knowingly smile graced my face because I knew it was a fact, one of the reasons that she caught my attention all those years ago. Not only she kind, and outspoken but her face was beautiful and her skin glowed against the sun in the most mesmerizing way possible. As we all had our flaws, I couldn't see one on her.
"Okay, now stop staring at my mate." I said, straightening up.
He cleared his throat and casted his eyes to the ground. Kymbre walked past us in a rush, I tried to catch her eyes but she refused to even look my way again. Not only was it fun to tease her, but it was even better to see her reaction.
It's not her fault, look at you, you look like a toe.
And then there was this, I was more than sure that her wolf was inside of me at this point. The feminine tone arrived a couple of days ago before I prepared to make my move. She has taunted me relentlessly since that day.
"Do I look like a toe?" I looked to Aasir.
"Sir, respectfully, do not ask me that." He answered as he walked away.
Leaving the hallway, I continued on inspecting the pack. Solar Pack had over three hundred wolves. It was maybe the second biggest pack while the first place was set around five hundred at least.
"Hey, you!" A disembodied voice struck my ears.
I spun around and looked down at the woman who was bandaged up. She glared up at me as if she could stab me without lifting a finger. I nodded down at her and she huffed, trying to compose herself.
"Who are you to decide that I'm not fit to be Geneal Advisor?" She gritted.
"Oh, we finally meet and I wish it was on better terms but when I came across your file I noted that you weren't a shifter." I explained.
"So-f*****g-what?" She almost shouted.
"You're not fit for the job, look at you. I imagine you're usually bandaged up like that. Maybe another job would be suitable for you? Perhaps nursery teacher?" I suggested.
Her eyes doubled in size, "Excuse me?" She gaped.
"Look, you have no wolf, you can't shift. If you want to remain breathing then I suggest you take up a profession that won't kill you." I explained as calmly as I could.
Who are you to make such calls? Maybe being an Alpha isn't suitable for you.
I grumbled inwardly at the comment.
"Hey!"
The former advisor flinched from the tone, I merely turned to look at my mate as she approached us. She was fuming but it was a great look on her. Her brows furrowed together in a tight knot of anger. she closed the distanced as she fisted the collar of my shirt in her hands.
"If you wanted to be this close, you could've said so. You're not so communitive,, are you?" I smirked as she shoved me away.
"Who are you to replace my Beta and Gamma?" She scolded.
"Well, how about for starters the new Alpha. I need a smooth transition here and having your people disrespect me at every turn will not help with that." I informed her.
Kymbre's nostrils flared at she folded her arms over her chest and c****d her head to the side as she shot daggers through my head. She may be almost as tall as me but she was very lightweight, I could take her if I had to. Maybe.
She plays dirty.
"Stop f*****g smiling." She snarled.
I cleared my throat, erasing any trace of happiness from my face.
"Look, if you want, we can sit down to a nice dinner and talk things through. We can compromise on who goes where. How does that sound?" I suggested.
"We will have a meeting, in my office." She gritted out.
"Great, I'll bring the wine."
She grabbed her advisor and stormed off in the other direction, leaving me to watch them leave.

When the day has gone and the night came, I found myself standing outside of the Alpha Office. It would soon be mine in the coming days, officially by the end of the month. I think I'd do some improvements, I deserve a bigger place.
To compensate for another area in your sad life?
I grunted and opened the door to a brewing s**t storm. Kymbre sat behind her desk while a group of our subordinates surrounded her with complaints. I slammed the door closed and all eyes landed on me.
"Why the hell are you all surrounding, and shouting no less around and towards my mate." I growled.
They all flinched at my tone, minus my father and he should've known better, as well as Aasir. I stepped further into the room and pulled up a chair. Kymbre cleared her throat, clearly annoyed by my interference but I had to step in.
"Ayele, as much as I hate to agree with my enemy, I do agree that it's time for you to step down from your post. You've done nothing short of a wonderful job. You've trained, you've planned, you did a job well done. You're release from your duties to heal and to do as you please." Kymbre informed her, without breaking eye contact.
"And if I could also add--"
I was interrupted as she silenced me with her hand.
"You have no voice here, keep your mouth shut." She hissed.
"Kymbre..."
"Ayele, if you have anymore concerns we can continue this conversation at a later time privately. You're dismissed." She said.
She left quietly until the slam of the door.
"Now what the hell do you two want?" I turned to Aasir and my father.
"Permission to be out of pocket?" Aasir asked anxiously.
"Granted." I nodded.
"This f*****g gremlin is my mate, I refuse to be mated to this-this..." He trailed off.
"You wanted to complain about your position or to reject him?" Kymbre looked to her Beta.
"Reject him, the hell do I look like?" He scoffed.
"Eze, you know the pack rule. One month trial." Kymbre sighed.
"I think I agree to this one month rule. Give it a chance, get to know each other." I shrugged.
Aasir stared at me as if I've grew an extra head.
"No." He insisted.
"Get out of my face, go find Yohance about getting that set up." I told him.
"It's not for my father to do, it's for the Alpha in charge. So therefore, I will have it set up by tomorrow evening." Kymbre chimed in.
I bit the inside of my cheek, "Alright, Dad?" I sighed.
"Well, I did come here to see how you were settling in but found our Luna here instead." He said.
The office door swung open, Hazina stormed through and planted her hands on the desk. Kymbre refused to look at her mother as she hovered around. It was fascinating to see the ever so cool Kymbre looking so...scared.
"Why aren't you checking on the newcomers? That's one of your many duties of Luna. Come, now." Hazina demanded. "Starting at the pack house, then you'll visit each sectors."
Dragging Kymbre by the forearm out of the office.
"Now, have a seat at your desk." He said.
I did, and sat behind the desk, placing my hands on top of the strong oak that it was built from.
"Your mother would be proud of you." He nodded.
"Yeah...I know." I smiled.
"Now if you'd excuse me, I have a date with a single she-wolf." He stood up abruptly.
"How can you talk about her and in another breath talk about a date?" I scoffed.
"Because she told me that if I ever date again, she'll haunt my dreams. Sounds like a master plan to me." He grinned.
