Is that a creaking sound?
The front door always creaks when opened… Dammit! He is home early!
Maybe it’s not him? Na! Who am I kidding!? He is the only one who comes in without knocking. All the others knock or ring the bell and wait for me or Mason to open the door.
I look around me and sigh. There is no way to hide all of that.
“I’ll be right back. Don’t move!” I order as I walk out of the home office and close the door behind me.
I take a deep breath and prepare myself for a tough negotiation.
Mason has been a great host for the past week. He truly made me feel at home, catering to my every need.
