Her eyes grow impossibly wide, and a new wave of tears threatens to fall again.
She nods and looks away, her bottom lip trembling.
How did I miss it? I have been trying to win her heart for days now and I didn’t know something as important as that… Operation seduction is a blatant failure! I never tried to get close to her, never tried to know her…to learn about her past… I just wanted to score with her… Foolishly believing this is enough to get whatever information I need from her.
