Chapter 9: She's my future wife

Narrator’s POV

After Adam spoke those words, Adam began to pick up his laptop and hacked the hospital database, and monitored everything to find the trace of Klaus.

“Adam, it looks like it is too hard for you to do everything now. Do you need a minute or two minutes this time?” Annabelle asked with a smile on her face. She glanced at what Adam had been doing on his laptop.

“Do you want to take a bet? Let's have a bet.” Annabelle added.

Adam scoffed, and continued typing on his laptop when he said, “Fifty seconds is enough for me to find him.”

Adam didn't stop typing on his laptop, and his hands were too fast when his hands were working. Adam was determined to find where Klaus was. He grinned when he finally located Klaus, and sent the details to his mother.

“Mom, I have already found Klaus. He's on the top floor, but there is a problem.” Adam stopped talking when he noticed that there was security on the top floor.

“It looks like the security on the top floor is too strict. You need the consent of the people who are leaving to go there. Don't worry, I will help you because I will hack the elevator monitoring data for you. You can go in quickly, so you can go directly to the top floor.” Adam added.

After Avalynn heard what Adam had told her, the elevator next to her opened and she ran forward to enter. All that Avalynn had been thinking was she didn't want to miss the opportunity because Annabelle needed Klaus.

Klaus came out of the elevator when there was a secretary who was patiently waiting for him.

“Good day,  Dr. Klaus, please follow me this way.” The secretary ushered Klaus to the way where Klaus needed to go. Klaus followed the secretary when the secretary started walking.

The secretary turned to the corridor, and saw if Steven was standing not too far away.

When Klaus had seen Steven, he stopped himself to have an emotion. He saw Steven was expressionless.

“Dr. Klaus, my mother's condition got a little worse yesterday. These are the new physical examination results, and her previous case report. Take a look at it so you will see when you will arrange to do the operation.” Steven didn't have any plans to greet Klaus because all that was important to him was his mother.

Steven asked his secretary to bring the files to them and the secretary followed. When Steven had the piles of papers in his hands, he gave Klaus the papers that Klaus needed to chest.

Klaus didn't think twice when he received the papers and began to open every page to check the report.

While Klaus was reading, he kept slipping the papers to the next page. The whole floor was silent, and all that they could hear was the crickling of paper.

The top floor was only exclusive to the Muller family, and they were the only ones who could have the top floor. In fact, since Steven's mother got sick, she was the one who occupied the top floor.

Avalynn came out of the elevator. When she took her phone, she saw that her phone had lost contact with Adam. Now, she couldn't contact Adam where Klaus was.

Avalynn didn't know what she would do next, but because of the desperation that she had, she got the courage to go to the top floor without Adam's help.

Avalynn started strolling but because she met some of the clients from the film and television company, she was wearing short high heels. She tried her best not to create a small sound, and tiptoed like a criminal.

But she was caught when she accidentally created the slightest sound, and got caught by the security who was checking the whole top floor. Avalynn was stunned, she didn't know what she would do next, when the security moved closer to her.

“What are you doing here, Miss? How did you come here?” The bodyguard asked, and stopped her from walking when she tried to move away. Some of the bodyguards surrounded her, which made Avalynn blush for an instant.

Because of the commotion of the bodyguards, Steven looked in Avalynn's direction.  Steven frowned when he noticed the woman that his bodyguards were interrogating.

“Klaus, just check this document. But I will be back. I need something to deal with.” Steven uttered to Klaus, and didn't wait for his response.

Avalynn forced herself to smile. She didn't know what she would do, and seeing how the bodyguards looked made her courage fade.

Avalynn realized that the top floor was a secure area, and she was not allowed to go to that floor. Yeah, she was too desperate to see Klaus, but she knew that she didn't have the choice but to leave the floor whatever happened.

“Oh, I'm lost. I'm sorry I will leave now." Avalynn lied and while she was muttering those words, she turned around to run to the elevator, but the bodyguards stopped her.

Avalynn's face turned pale. She didn't know what she would do when the bodyguards got closer to her.

“Miss, we want to know the reason why you are here? Can you explain to us the reason, and please, cooperate with the security so we can investigate everything.” One of the bodyguards exclaimed.

Avalynn didn't know what to say but her heart almost jumped out when it began to pump. She slowly started to sweat, and swallowed when the body guards didn't leave her as long as she didn't explain the purpose of going to the top floor.

All that Avalynn had been thinking was what she would do next? What would she say to the security?

“Stop scaring her. Let her go. She's my future wife.” While Avalynn was thinking what she was going to reason out, a cold voice spoke, and it was too close to them.

Avalynn widened her eyes when she saw that it was Steven, who was looking at her without emotion. After the bodyguards heard Steven, the bodyguards who were stopping Avalynn removed their hands because of fear that Steven might get mad at them for touching his future.

Avalynn was free, and she couldn't stop herself from sighing in relief.

“Madam, I'm sorry that we thought that Sir Steven didn't know you.” The bodyguards apologized at the same time. They bowed their heads to make Avalynn see that they were sorry.

Avalynn was shocked, and she didn't know what she would do in that situation. She felt anxious when her eyes landed on where Steven was standing. Avalynn was scared when he saw how powerful Steven was.

“You can punish them as long as you want. Why are you acting scared?
