Wakening
Darkness, that's all that I know. That's the first thing that I remember of my life. In the next instant, I feel, weightless, like I'm being carried by an unknown force. It feels nice, like how I would imagine it to feel if I was riding a wave of wind. Only there was no passing air currents, the sunshine or moonlight hitting my face. There is nothing, I can't feel my body. I can't feel my body!! I can't move??!! I can't breath! How am I alive if I can't breath. I can't breath.... I can't....
My eyes snapped open like they had been glued shut for years. I felt like I weighed nothing since my feet never seemed to touch the ground. My blurry vision started to clear up as I tried to search my surroundings. But I couldn't make out anything but darkness. Not the moonless night, but a never ending pitch black darkness, like in a sealed room. I looked around still not being able to move my body but in a panic. My eyes frantically searched as my breathing soared to anxiety attack heights. My mind raced a thousand miles an hour trying to figure this out. Then I realized, I was breathing.
I tried to calm the panic inside long enough to realize that I was breathing. And once I did, I realized that I did feel something. I felt ripples of small waves around me. Like I was trapped under the ocean as it pulled and pushed me. It was unsettling how at peace the motion made me feel. I finally looked around, but in a less frantic pace. My eyes no longer strained to see anything as they roamed my surroundings. I was in a glass box, filled with crystal clear green water. Something filled my mouth has i grew aware of a tube running down my throat. That's why I could breath, a breathing tube was my savior. I looked down and saw my body. I was naked and my limbs were a lot longer than I could remember. Wait remember, remember remember.... How did I get here? Who am I? Who was I? My name, I can't remember. My face, what do I look like? I don't remember anything. What happened to me? There was a light reflecting in my box and it kind of blinded me to what color my skin was. But I didn't cover up the fact that one of my arms were gone, from the elbow down. And that there were black inked out bands on my legs and black designs on my full arm and my other. Well what was left of that one anyways.
What happened to me? Where am I? I felt sadness overwhelm me. I could cry but it like nothing would come out. Who knows how long I have been in this place or what this place was. I can barely start to feel my body in this sealed box. Who knows what would happen if I was on the other side. But would I ever get out of here. I will probably die of starvation or dehydration first. How ironic, to die in a tank of water of dehydration. Fate sure has a great sense of humor. And all that's here is me and this tank and the darkness of this place that surrounds me inside and outside. She sighed in her throat. Her ears filled with the sound of the waters motion.

"Sir, the subject has woken up." The voice echoed over the intercom of the cold room. "It had been maybe only 20 minutes since she has regained consciousness, but watching her reactions over the cameras and monitoring her brain waves over the scanner, she's awake. But she still has yet to fully regain everything no doubt. I don't know if she'll remember anything."
A deep voice echoed across the room soothing the worries of the other. "It is no worry of mine whether she remembers what happened or not. All I care about is that she's awake. She is the key to this and I will stop at nothing to reach the goal that we have been longing to achieve. She will give me what I want, and willingly." The smell of cigarette smoke made itself known in the empty room. The voice responding to the one on the intercom seemed to come from no where as darkness controlled the atmosphere of the room. The only light was the one sitting on the desk that was shining onto the wooden intercom that made itself home there.
"Sir, how will you get her to give you what you want willingly? No doubt that she terrified and in panic mode. If we go to free her, she is a danger. And if she doesn't remember anything, she is even more so. Her abilities could go haywire from the moment that we release her from the confinement chamber. She could kill us all and not even be aware of it. The risk is too great to release her. Besides, if she gets out of there, then they will sense her presence and be looking for her even harder. They are already hot on our tail. The last thing that we need is basically giving away our location."
"I can tell that they frightened you very much with the last encounter that we had with them. Yes, they are a force to be reckoned with, but have you forgotten my friend, that we have their ace that was once up their sleeve. Now she is in our hands and we will turn her to our side. The war is still waging eventhough most the people are gone. Most of the population that is left has fallen into line. Now with her in our hands, the last of the small rebellion that was involved with the start of all of this will be crushed. And it will all be thanks to this little gem that we've captured. I have waited ten long years for her to wake up, and I will not let this chance slip out of my fingers. She will deliver the gift to restore the one."
"If you truly believe that sir, then we shall follow you, even back to the pits of hell where we came. We will restore our ruler and race here on Earth as the stones have said."
"We will rule once again and become the dominant beings, no longer slaves to the underworld. The Earth shall burn with our revenge and the rein of our ruler shall be true and rise once again!" An ominous laugh touched the bare walls of the room as victory seemed close at hand, after all of these years of fighting, the demon lord will raise again to rule all of the realms.

The nighttime air blew cold currents passed the small groups faces as they walked amongst the dunes of the sorched desert. The black sand glittered in the moonlight that graced the group of three with its presence. The cold air seemed to try to slice through their layers of clothing as they continued forward. Exhaustion racked their bodies as the restless days and nights had finally made itself known to them. It had ten years. Ten long years since she had been taken from them. They had been searching non-stop it seemed. They had discover numerous places hidden among the charred remains of what was once a beautiful planet.
But everytime that they had reached her location, it had always been too late. The place had always been empty. All that was left was a platform of where she had been. And it was always soaked with a water like substance that smelled of sugar cane and sea salt. It was a strange combination, but it became clear. After taking samples of it everytime, it was determined that it was a little different everytime. They had been changing it, probably to find something better to house her in. It was probably torture that they were inflicting on her. But for what, she had no idea.
Right now, they were returning from a trail that had dried up. They were tracking them for three weeks, only to end up at a dead end. The trail went cold when it ended at what was once a beautiful forest. But all that was left was charred tree stumps turning everything into a makeshift slow burning coal field. There had been nothing. She had practically flew into a rage at turning up empty handed again. She didn't want to miss this chance. They had to find her. She was the key to everything. The woman pointed her hand to right. The moonlight reflected off of her goggles causing a small glare. The fur lined hood covered her head to save it from the never ending cold nights.
They walked towards a doorway that was half hidden by sorched black sand under a bigger one of the dunes that resided in the endless desert. Once they reached the doorway, the woman leading the group took off her over sized glove revealing a tanned hand. It was covered in traditional markings of her people. Light rippled under her fingertips as she planted her hand in the middle of the doorway. It spilt open from the middle revealing only darkness inside. Once all three were inside, the door closed being sensors to life. Lights clicked on inside lighting the area to reveal the cozy house. The walls were dark grey all around with a small kitchen that held dark cabinets.
In the middle of the small room up against a wall was a small table made out of heavy oak wood. There were four chairs around it. Three of them looked rather worn and aged with use, while the other one looked fairly new. It was covered in dust like no one had sat there in ages and pushed between the wall and the table so no one would use it to sit. It was her spot and it was waiting for her to return, just like they all were waiting. She was the key and life to everything. Once the demons had taken her, it was like all of the life had been sucked out of them. Even her pets had gone into a depression waiting for their master's return. They had to find her. It was the only way...
The woman walked over to the fireplace that was bare. There was a small stack of wood and kindling that she used to start the fire. Once it was started and the room warmed up, the woman shrugged off her coat, showing off lightly tanned tattooed skin. Runes were tattooed into her arms as a sign of her standing in her tribe. She was the daughter of a chief and one of the founders of the group who had the sole purpose of defeating the demons that were running rampant in the world.
She had a scar that covered her entire shoulder. It looked like someone had taken a chunk of skin out of it only to be replaced with rough scar tissue. She sighed as she pulled her goggles off, releasing her dark brown hair that fell past her shoulders landing at the middle of her back. She stretched and cracked her neck as she sat down in front of the fire in exhaustion. A big hand sat on her unscathed shoulder. The tan hand belonging to understanding brown eyes. She smiled lightly at him as he pulled up a chair beside her. His brown hair was braided and falling in front of his shoulders instead of his back. His voice was soft as he spoke. "Do not worry sister, we will pick up the search again in a couple of days. I'm sure that we will find something that will send us back on track." She sighed.
"The thing is, we always find the trail again, but we always get there too late. And I don't know why all of this time, we can't pick her up. We always had the ability to sense and find each other. But all of these years, I haven't felt a single thing. Why can't we feel her? We are her blood and everyone within our people has this ability. Why did it suddenly vanish without a trace a week after they captured her?"
"I truly cannot answer that question. We know nothing for certain accept what they want her for. Our sister is special, she is the one that was going to lead our people next, she was," he paused for a moment. "No, she is the one choosen and we will find her and bring her home, no matter what. Even if we must battle to the depths of hell and back just for it. We cannot allow for them to resurrect their master. Nothing good will come from it." She nodded. "Besides that fact, she is also promised to marry. The young man will die waiting at this point. At least he is helping with the search. That makes it easier to watch him." They both gave a small laugh.
"He is a good man. He will make a good husband to her." They both nodded. They sighed heavily as the tiredness fully sunk in their rest deprived bodies. It was time to rest, because in a few days time, they would continue to hunt and track and search for her. They also had to go back to where the remaining population lived. They had to check how their parents were running things. They were standing in until their youngest daughter had returned to take their place. She was destined to be the ruler of the world after all.

She opened her eyes to find herself in darkness. She thought that her vision might have been blurry like before but it wasn't that. The room where she was in was dark just like before. It felt as if eyes were watching her as she came into herself. She no longer heard the motion of water in her ears or felt the tube in her mouth. She blinked a few times as dim light seemed to come from nowhere. She felt something cool moving over her skin only to look down and find that she no longer was in that tank filled with water. She was in a bed, one that her body sunk into like it was gripping her. It wanted her to be there forever. Silk sheets, the color of wine covered her body. The feeling of it sliding over her skin brought the realization that she was in fact naked again. Why did she never have any clothes on? She sighed as she saw her foot peeking out from the sheet. Her golden skin seemed to glow in the light, even more so when you saw the black designs that lined her entire body.
The sheet started to slide off of her body as she moved her leg but she grabbed it with her hands. Wait, hands... how is that possible? She just had one of them basically chopped off. How is it possible that she has it now?? Could that tank just have been a terrible dream? Now she was really confused and her head was spinning with everything that was happening to her. How is any of this possible? That's all that she think about. She sighed as her hand went to her head in frustration. All of this was just too much to deal with anymore. First the tank and now this. It was hard to know what is real and wasn't. She looked around the dimly lit room to see if she could find a way out. The room looked normal enough. She looked down to see that there was no floor.
All she saw was endless darkness, like falling into the abyss darkness. Fear caused her adereline to spike as she thought about falling into that pit. She gulped heavily and dared to reach her foot to the bottom. She had her hand gripping the post of the headboard incase she fell in. Her fear almost triggered an anxiety attack as her foot touched something ice cold. It caused her to jump at the sudden sensation. She hadn't been expecting it. But then she sighed in relief has her heartbeat slowed down to its normal pace as she made contact with the black marble floor under her feet.
The room was cold enough to cause her to shiver. She looked around to find a chair sitting in the corner of the room. Laying on it was a silk robe. It was that same deep red wine color that the sheets had. She looked around finding no one and slipped the robe on and quickly tied it. It only fell down to her mid thigh, but it was better than nothing at all. And she couldn't walk around with a sheet on her. Lest she find an exit and have to run, losing it in the process. She sighed as even the coolness of the robe added to the chill in the room. She could feel it reaching down to her bones, causing slight chills that ended in shivering.
She took her time, walking around the room trying to search for anything that could help her escape. But all she found were dim lite bulbs around the room and a door that was locked. There was no light emitting from the other side underneath the door frame, nor could she even make out the doorframe lines. There was only a doorknob with a small lock under it. She sighed to herself thinking how she wasn't going to get out. Just going from one trapped situation to another. What luck she had today it seemed.
She sighed before she felt the change in temperature in the room. Goosebumps raised on her arms as the hair on the back of her neck stood up tall. She felt a hand graze her bare arm. The touch was hot, like when you touch a match after the flame was barely extinguished. Even after it was gone, she could still feel the heat of the imprint. But the touch was gone as soon as it was there. She quickly turned around to see the space behind her empty. She must be losing her mind right now. But then a hand touched her lower back and made its way up to her neck and only to continue the motion again. She quickly turned but found the space empty. Out of no where, arms wrapped around her from behind and pulled her flush against an overly warm body. Sweat started to pop up on her skin. She gasp in shock at the sudden motion. How could this be possible when she had seen no one just a few seconds ago?
Lips brushed her neck sensually and traced it up to her ear. She shivered at the unfamiliar feeling taking shape inside of her. The lips stopped planting a delicate kiss on her earlobe. A voice entered her ears like a whisper. But it floating around her head like a beautiful song that she could listen to forever.
"I have been waiting for you for a very long time. I have been very patient and it looks like fate has rewarded my diligence." Her lips caressed her ear at a slow pace. "But, I must admit that being this close to you awakens a craving" She paused for a moment. "No, a need inside of me that has gone unfulfilled for a very long time." She heard the sound of her inhaling her scent. Then what she assumed was a nose rubbing against her neck where her pulse was beating wildly.
"The sound of your heart and the way that you feel pushed against me so closely makes me feel more alive than you can even imagine. Yes, the fates are finally being kind to me." Her lips pressed where her nose had just been. "Do you know why you are here?" The woman gulped as she tried to push down her fear. It had paralyzed her ability to move and her voice. But she finally managed to speak eventhough it came out low and timid. It was almost trembling with the force that she was using to speak.
"I don't know where I am or why I'm here. I don't even know if this is a dream or being in that stupid tank is a dream. I can't remember anything. Ugh, my brain is so foggy I can't even think clearly." The woman behind her smirked.
"Do not worry about those things. Just know that you are where you are supposed to be and that is here, with me. We are in our chamber. Like I have said, I have been waiting for you for a long time. We are fated to be together, you and I." She felt lips caressing her neck again. "Even before you were born, you were always destined to be mine. And I in turn shall be yours my love."
"Our chamber? Destined to be together? What is this? Some kind of joke?" She heard the woman chuckle. She was surprised at how pleasant it sounded to her. She felt herself longing to hear it again. She mentally shook her head. She had to snap herself out of this daze that she was in. "This has to be a dream. There is no other explanation about how I could have gotten my arm back." She felt the body behind stiffen ever so slightly.
"This is not a dream and I have the power to do many things, even restore your lost arm. I wished to see you whole and so it happened. And yes, in time you will see that you are mine. I will show you that very well my dear. You will start to need me and seek me out. That is what lovers do when they are made for each other." The girl still not believing anything that was happening. She must just be having a really vivid dream. "You do not believe me or that any of this is real but you will see my beloved."
With that, she quickly spun her around and captured her lips into a breath stopping kiss. The lips wrapped around hers was so soft and felt so delicate. But she could feel how determined and dominant this woman was. Her mind had been in a slight haze until now, but the way those lips were on hers introduced new feelings into her that awaken her system. It was putting her on overload. The feeling was overwhelming to say the least. And as she felt a hot tongue sliding across her lips asking permission to enter, she could no longer deny the woman what she wanted. The experience being in that tank. The shock of waking and not knowing, well anything had finally gotten to her. And now this woman who was basically claiming to be her destined companion and lover was pushing into her. Even if this was a dream, she had to let go to be able to move forward just in order to keep her sanity in this insanity.
Her body started to relax as she just lost herself to the sensations running amuck inside of her. This woman must have placed a spell on her causing all of these emotions like she was trying to bewitch her. The woman smirked to herself as she was granted access to her lovers mouth. She had been craving her taste. She wanted her body, soul, mind, everything that she could ever take from her; she would have it. She felt her control start to slip as arms wrapped around her neck. This was like a dream come true for her. The faster the girl submitted to being hers willingly, the faster they would be together and end this war that has been raging between the races. She felt her legs moving, slowly pushing both of them until her lover's back lightly hit a wall. She heard herself growl in her throat as she deepened their kiss even more. She ran her hand to tangle in her lovers hair. It was soft like silk and her fingers wanted nothing more than to get lost in it. The girl's golden skin seemed to glow even brighter the longer that they stayed wrapped up in each other.
Unknowingly, both of their abilities started to leak out of their skins, letting energy dance in the dim room. They wrapped around each other causing the bulbs to burn brighter and finally burst to leave them in darkness. But the woman didn't let that stop them as she wrapped one leg around her waist. God, how she had wanted this woman. The craving even whispered in her blood for her. But she had to stop this or else she would take her now. She needed her to come back willingly to her first, to make sure she was one hundred percentage willing. Only then could she leave from this realm to join her love forever. She pulled away from her mouth and placed a few hot kisses on her neck. Her lover whimpered at the feelings running though her body. She whispered against her skin.
"You will be mine, no matter what. You will seek me out and when you do, you will have me. But until then, no one will touch what is mine." She bit into her neck. The woman against the wall groaned with a mix of pleasure and pain. Her mouth opened in surprised at the bite. She hadn't been ready for such a thing. But as quickly as it had come, the pain disappeared and the woman ran her lips against the mark that was already healing. She pulled away as a small flame came to life across the room. The woman was panting with her eyes closed trying process everything that had just happened in such a short amount of time. The woman smirked feeling pride at how she had left her lover feeling and looking. She embraced her again but in the way lovers do before she could open her eyes.
"I wish that I had more time, but you have to go. But you will return to me soon my beloved. I will be waiting here for you." She paused for a moment as she spun them around and walked towards the bed. "When the time is right, all you have to do is willingly give yourself to me and then, we will be together forever."
"But how can I trust you? I don't even know what you look like."
"I will reveal everything to you in time. Just know that once we are together, we will end this bloody war that has no end in sight. We shall unite and bring peace to this world once again with our rein."
"War, what war are you talking about?" The woman sighed.
"You really do not remember anything my love. Just know that once you return, you will start to awaken and become yourself again. Everytime you leave my side, it will be. Until I am finally free to cross between realms as is needed, only then will you remember everything."
"Wait, but I don't understand. What do you mean?" The woman released her love and quickly pushed her into the bed. But instead of the hitting the body gripped mattress, she fell through and continued to fall into the darkness below. The last thing that she saw of that woman before hitting the dim green light below were steel colored grey eyes, swimming wildly with emotion.
****************
She blinked her eyes rapidly. The last thing that she remembered was falling. She looked around and saw her missing arm and that she was still floating in this tank of green water. She sighed to herself. It was only a dream. But everything had felt so real. She could feel that woman's lips and arms and hands on her. It made her skin explode in chills eventhough the water was body temperature. Her rapid heartbeat sounded louder in her ears than the water. She looked at her missing arm and remembered how it felt in her dream with two. How it felt to lace her fingertips together and how the woman's hair had felt like the finest silk. The heat that had been released between the two of them was unmistakable. And the lady had been dead set on proving that it wasn't dream.
She felt her anger boil. How was it not a dream? If it was then she wouldn't be trapped in this stupid tank, floating here like an i***t. She didn't know how she had gotten caught in the first place, but she was sure it was something dumb. And in the process, that's probably how she had lost her arm. Her anger boiled higher. How was that not a dream? How could she still feel the presence of that woman wrapped around her? She was in her mind. That chuckle that she had done and those eyes that caused guilt and need to form in her gut. It made her skin heat up in need and anger.
Why was she so hopeless and pathetic? How could she let this happen. How could her arm, life and memories been taken and she doesn't know how to regain them? Without thinking, she swung her foot into one of the sides of the glass tank. She was shocked to find that it didn't hurt as her shin made contact with the glass. Instead, there was a large crack left where she had made contact.
