Chapter 20: Victoria's Vendetta
Victoria's eyes narrowed as she watched James and Emily together. She had been waiting for the perfect moment to strike, and now was her chance.
"You think you can just waltz back into my life, James, and expect everything to be okay?" Victoria spat, her voice venomous. "You think you can just apologize and make it all go away?"
James took a step back, his eyes pleading. "Victoria, please understand—"
"Understand?" Victoria laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You want me to understand? You ruined my life, James. You took everything from me."
Emily stepped forward, her heart pounding in her chest. "Victoria, stop. This isn't about me, is it?"
Victoria's gaze turned to Emily, a sneer twisting her face. "You're just a pawn in this game, Emily. A game James and I started years ago."
James's eyes dropped, shame written across his face. "Victoria, that's not true. Emily has nothing to do with this."
But Victoria just laughed again. "Oh, but she does. She's the perfect leverage. And now, she's going to pay the price." Here's the next chapter:

Victoria's words sent a chill down Emily's spine. She knew she had to act fast, to protect herself and James from Victoria's wrath.
"James, we need to get out of here," Emily said, tugging on his arm. "Now."
But James hesitated, his eyes fixed on Victoria. "I need to fix this, Emily. I need to make it right."
"There's no time for that," Emily insisted. "Victoria's not going to stop until she destroys us."
James nodded finally, and together they turned to leave. But Victoria was too quick.
"You're not going anywhere," she spat, pulling out a small device from her pocket.
With a click, the doors locked, trapping them inside. Emily's heart raced as Victoria began to circle around them, a triumphant smile on her face.
"You see, James, I've been planning this for a long time. And now, it's time for you to pay."
