In the middle of the bus ride, I started to get dizzy. I thought I smelled food. Looking at the guy's head in front of me, I imagined it was sweet apples. I snapped myself out of it, instead looking around at everyone else. The bus driver was an old guy about eighty or so years old. His head was bald, but his mustache sure wasn't. The girl in the seat beside me was of mixed races and had brown hair, silver eyes. The bus lurched to a stop, and the doors opened. We all piled out into a forest full of different shades of green. It was night and the full moon lightened up the whole forest, sending dark shadows over all of us. I stopped walking when I noticed my bare feet sinking into the mud. Yuck, I thought and walked over to a tree root. A short, rugged blonde guy walked up, and there was complete silence. Power radiated of him like waves. I then caught a scent of something burning, and lightning struck one of the buses, causing a chain reaction of buses blowing up.
I guess we are not going back, I thought as soon as a whole pack of wolves surrounded us. I caught the scent of cinnamon blueberries for a second. What is wrong with me I thought. The guy spoke up," I an the head witch of the Knowe Tribe. I have been summoned here today to tell you what the experiments have changed you into." "I thought witches were girls," a tall blonde guy asked me. I just shrugged. I was pondering the thought that I wasn't just used for old age.
The witch then shook his head rapidly, and colors appeared on our nails. A few girls shrieked, but I just looked at my nails dumbly. He said," silver is werewolf, red is fox, pink is dragon shifter, and so on..." After he told us all of them, he assured us it was temporary, and disappeared into the forest. "Nice meeting you!" someone yelled, getting snickers. The wolves rounded up their kind and left. The last one to get us were the foxes. They stuffed a red berry in each of our mouths, and instructed us to swallow. It tasted like something out of the sewers. I then felt myself condensing and getting smaller. I crawled out of my hospital gown and took a deep breath. Scents washed over me. I guess I am sane after all, I thought to myself, as I wiggled with glee. Being a fox felt so exciting and new. A silver fox apologized to us for the berry, but it was the only way to get us to shift before our time. She then led us deeper into the dark woods.
