Never the Same

My eyes flickered as I got up. I felt weird, as if something heavy was put in my head. I got up, dressed in different clothes. Someone screamed. Glancing around, I saw a frightened woman clutching her chest. That made me remember that I was dead. Hmm, maybe a zombie bit my dead body. I looked, my skin was perfect. The lady was still making weird sounds like she wants to scream. That is so annoying, and where are the lights? It was dark. I got up. She looked like I was going to kill her. I saw two Caracals behind her. I ran to them, about to give them a piece of my mind. The lady ran and hid under a bed with a dead person in it. "Eww, why are we with a bunch of dead people?" I heard their voices in my head,"We need to get out of here." "I agree but where are we-oh. I thought I was dead as well, we will have a talk as soon as-." One of the Caracals grabbed me, running. I lay limp like an obedient fox hostage. I saw some more people running. Some ran in, others ran out. I thought about following them, but one yowled no in my head. We reached the open, sunlight blissfully cupping my face. I saw the same lady running. I wiggled out of the Caracal's grip, him yelling at me in the process. I transformed, my clothes ripping. Why is it ripping? Sure, this was normal human clothes, but I would still be smaller than the clothes. It felt as if I got bigger. I grabbed her, her screaming, and raced with the brothers. We sat in the forest, and I looked at my reflection in a pool of water. "Where are we?" I then noticed that my teeth were like fangs. I look like a Saber-tooth tiger met a fox. I was bigger than I was before, and a little fluffier. They tasted the air,"North Carolina." I looked around," Then they bombed me with the truth. They told me the story together. "We basically killed each other. With our altered blood pooling together, we became something else. We can now communicate in each other's heads. It is easy. Your blood composition changed, and your secret powers also changed. We don't know if you know, but if you changed, you have powers. It isn't really rare. Vampires also have a power. We both are twins, so we both have the power of the sand, as long with our father. We think he is dead. We three are also basically dead. Dead like a vampire. Did you know that vampires are mistakes? Okay, no one needs the vampire lessons. Fine. We are a mix of a Necromancer and a Werewolf, that is probably what changed you. We gained a boost of endurance and speed from your Werefox powers. We don't know what the Necromancer did to you, or your powers, or ours for that matter, but we will find out in time. For some reason, we are stuck in cat form. It sucks. Oh, sorry for killing you." "I will let that slide for now, but later, you won't be so lucky." They grinned, and we lopped to the nearest town. It just happened to be a civilian town. People screamed and ran, and some cars crashed into each other, honking. I laughed, wondering if I looked that hideous."Naw," someone reassured me. Yay, we can read each other's thoughts. We found a nice hotel, and the boys went to the store to get some clothes for me. I doubt that they will pay for it. They came back, and I left to quickly change and shower. I came back, to come face to face with the cops. "Hello. I came here, and everyone ran away. I hope my pets don't scare anyone." The brothers came out. "Oh, well it is legal to own a non-native animal. Just try to put a collar on them. Did you know that you put the whole city in a panic? "No, am I in trouble?" He motioned the other officers out of the room. "Unless you want to be." I saw the wild look in his eyes, and started to be afraid. I saw the other officers drive off from the window. "How old are you?" I looked at him. "Twenty, I am looking for new work. A lot of people say I look young." He grinned,"You look fourteen." His fangs came out, and he stepped closed. The cats lunged at him, and he lashed one's face. I then heard his thoughts, this better not scar. Looking closer, I noticed scars along his back. "Shadow, you Kay!" He glanced at me, and grinned. I took that as a yes. They killed him, and we left to a different town. This town was less flighty, maybe because I didn't look like a mutant fox. I stayed there for the night, and in the morning, we went for donuts. I was so hungry, I ate five, and I usually eat two. We then decided to go to Africa so they can do a sacred pyramid thing. I don't know the details, but I am fine with it because I am allergic to something in the air of North Carolina. It is fall, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Once we reached the airport, a plane crashed in there, blowing up the whole airport.
