The next morning, I woke up alone in the bed. Nick was long gone. And honestly, I was relieved—I didn’t want to see his face after what he’d done to me.
I took a quick warm shower and finished my morning routine before heading downstairs. The fever and headache had finally subsided, but I still felt weak. At first, I didn’t want to leave my room, but I wanted to see Rosetta, so I made my way to the kitchen.
