So that's how it lead to the present, where I'm currently in my apartment.
I'm already in tears just by thinking about all the events that led me here.
I didn't even realise when I cried myself to sleep.
I woke up with the rays of sunlight coming from the balcony, falling on me.
I slowly opened my eyes and rubbed them. Unwillingly I got out of the bed and went to the washroom to freshen up. Then ordered some food with the money Grandma had given, ate it and went back to the bedroom, shut the blinds and went back on the bed, crying all over again.
This routine of crying, having one meal and crying even more with crying myself to sleep, continued for a few days until one fine day, when I woke up with the sunrays peaking between the closed blinds shining on me and I could barely open my eyes.
'Damn, my eyes still hurts from all the crying', I spoke to myself.
'And that's why you need to get a hold on yourself Andrea, even though we're in Cynthia right now, you need to get back on your feet and get stronger. This is just a retreat for the time being.', my wolf, Seph said, with her voice filled with concern.
'You're right. We need to do something, I can't just sit here and sulk the entire day.', I replied.
'Maybe we can find a job somewhere? That could keep us occupied and since we are running low on cash too', Seph suggested.
'Yeah, I think we should. We just need to make sure to stay under the radar though. We could take a job in some backoffice department or library. Since there are so many Libraries here.', I replied.
'I think I did see a Library on the way here, it's a couple of blocks away too, so in that way we can keep our residence location a secret too.',Seph said.
'How about we change and go check out that place right now?', Seph added.
'Right now???', I groaned.
'Yes right now. So get your ass up and go freshen up and get ready to leave.', Seph said sternly.
I forced myself out of the bed and to the washroom for a nice warm bath.
After 30 minutes of scrubbing myself throughly so that I look normal and not some puff ball because of all the sleepless nights and crying, I got dressed into a striped Formal shirt and knee length black skirt.
I quickly checked again and once I felt I look fine I took my car keys, and left.

After about 10 minutes of driving, I reached my destination.
Seph was right. There was an amazing Library not that far away, named Cresent Moon Library written in Mandarin at the top of the entrance. As luck would have it, they had an pamphlet stuck in front stating that the Cresent Moon Library was in search of a part timer or full timer. Yes, because of the name written on the pamphlet, I understood that it was Cresent Moon Library written in Mandarin above.
From the outside, it didn't look that big but it was huge inside, with a Victorian era style.
Despite being huge, it was very cozy. There's always something magical about such old libraries and the smell of so many books, honestly I feel like they're always enchanting and inviting.
I didn't even realize the small smile forming on my face. This place reminds me of home. I always spent most of my time in the library reading some book or training outside.
Since it was only 10 a.m. and a Sunday, there was practically no one in the library. I looked around the shelves for a few minutes, so engrossed in the view in front of me and my memories that I didn't see someone walk behind me that is, until I heard someone clear his throat behind me. I instantly turned around hearing it and an old man in his 50s was standing there.
He smiled and said, "That's new to find someone on a Sunday come to a library at such an early hour. So what brings such a lovely lady here at this time?"
I smiled back and replied, "Well I was just walking nearby searching for a job and saw the advertisement outside, that a part timer or full timer was needed here."
"Ah!" He clapped his hands and said, "So you are here for the job? That's wonderful then. I am Henry Clifford, owner of the library. My wife, Clara and I manage the library. Currently, we do require someone to manage, sort and arrange the books on the shelves here. You see we have a lot of books in the storeroom and they need to be arranged systematically on the shelves. So you would need to sort the books out on the author's name, genre, etc., and arrange them on the shelves alphabetically. Harold used to do this work before and since he shifted to New Orleans, we went short on staff."
"Ok, understood. I am Alexa Sil.. St-Stone. I would love to join as a full timer. Even though this is my first time applying for this job, I promise that if you give me this opportunity, I will learn and do an amazing work." I said enthusiastically.
"Well there's always a first time for everything and since we do need a helper urgently, you're hired. Your timings will be from 10 in the morning till 5 in the evening. By 1:30, you will have your lunch break for 30-45 minutes. Your Salary will be 100 dollars per day. Typically it is 5 days a week with Weekends off however if you wish to work even on Weekends then it would be 130 dollar/ a day on the weekend", he explained.
"That sounds good. So when can I join?" I asked.
"The sooner the better. I need the shelves of science and science fiction genre to be sorted out first, by this week of possible, since summer vacations starts soon so the younger generation would be given science assignments." He continued.
After thinking for a minute, I replied, "I could start from today itself if you want."
Mr. Clifford's face lit up hearing my reply.
"That's amazing then. You can start right now."
He then asked me to follow him to the storeroom and asked another helper, Ryan, to help me pick up the boxes filled with books, which needs to be arranged.
He then took me to one section of the library where a small sign was hanging above, stating ' Genre- Science'. He handed me list which stated the manner in which the books are to be sorted out and then left. I took a minute to check Ryan out. He was 6ft tall, medium build, really cute and handsome with a square jaw and absolutely fit. Just by his looks I could swear that he's a Supernatural because that amazing physique and super cute and adorable dimple on his cheeks, couldn't be that of a human. My guess is that he's a Wolf, well since he's scent gave it away already.
Ryan and I introduced ourselves and spoke for a few minutes and he explained to me how everything goes around here.
He's a part time helper and a werewolf- a healer in the Alpha King's s pack. So whenever he has free time, he comes here to help since, as he explained, that this is the biggest Library in Cynthia and the only one which keeps the complete history and stories of all Supernatural beings.
"So now that you know the importance of this Library and myself, care to tell me about you?" Ryan asked.
"As I said, I'm Alexa, recently shifted to Cynthia and in need of job, luckily found an opening here and joined right now." I explained.
"Hmmm. And when were you planning to reveal your Supernatural identity? You do know as a healer, I could feel your unnatural aura?", he said smirking.
I blushed a bit under his intense gaze. His beautiful brown eyes scanning me from top to bottom and that smirk on his face. Damn how can someone look this cute and handsome while seeming so gentle and kind as well.
He waved his hand in front of my face and brought me back from my day dreaming. Gosh I didn't even realize that I almost zoned out.
"So?", he asked again.
"I'm a witch. Trying to make a living on my own so came to Cynthia for a new start.", I replied, almost embarrassed because of my zoning out.
"Hmmm. Witches do have a different aura that's why you seemed different." He said.
After a few more minutes of getting to know each other, we exchanged our phone numbers and said goodbye.
The rest of the day went uneventful and calm. I did my work and almost finished shelving that entire bookshelf I was working on.
At the end of the day, Mr. Clifford came and gave me today's salary and we decided that from tomorrow onwards, the salary for the entire week will be given at the end of the week.
I thanked him once again for giving me the job and I left and went back to my apartment.
I slept peacefully that night after such a long day.
