Tessa. “Tessa, You need to calm down. We have guests downstairs !” He whispered as we got in the room, he locked the door and tried to reason with me. I felt sad, angry and disbelieving. Oh but why should I, my heart started racing as I ran my hands through my clothes. My eyes were already tense from the pain and I could barely look at him. I was trying to hold myself together. His words kept ringing and I needed him to shut up. I turned to him and yelled- For the first time, I yelled at him. “No, you mean you have guests down there. You cheated on me, and she is pregnant. You didn’t even dare to tell me! What did you do? Did you introduce her now? My BEST FRIEND WILLAIM!” I screamed it and I panted, I tried not to act rational, my eyes got wet from the thoughts. I kept on packing my things and I didn’t stop. “We can talk this through,” William said as he tried to stop my hands from moving. The inch that he was away from me showed me how scared he was. “and- and what? She embarrassed me. So did your parents know this? Because I am hell-sure that no one was surprised. You told me that you didn’t want a child yet? Your d**k didn’t go far? My f*****g best friend?” I looked at him with my heart shattered. I was done packing my bags and I had nothing else to say, I wanted to leave. Fifteen minutes earlier. “I know it’s your second anniversary and it’s just the beginning. But a toast to my best friend and her husband for being the most adorable couple I have ever known.” Anna, my best friend since childhood, said as she raised the toast. I smiled, I felt like the luckiest woman on the planet. “I should make a toast to my lovely wife, Tessa- it has been more than a decade that we have been friends and now lovers, everyone here knows how much I love and adore you.” I watched as my husband raised a toast in honor of me, we were just five here. Anna; my best friend. My in-laws; Mirabelle and Arthur respectively, my husband and I. It all seemed like a dream come true. “And I know we will have more years to celebrate together,” Willaim said as he sat down and kissed me on my cheek. I smiled as I looked at him, he held my hands under the table. “Cheers.” We raised another toast. “Hopefully with a child.” My mother-in-law muttered under her breath, but I heard it. No, we all heard. I gulped as I bit my lips, and I exhaled. “Mirabelle, we don’t know what they want. It’s just their second year okay?” Arthur defended as he smiled and tried to keep his wife in check, but I know her. “Can you stop Arthur? Stop it, someone has to say this.” Mirabelle dropped her napkin and snapped, she stood up and looked at me. “What?” I asked her as I faked a smile and panted again, I turned over to Willaim and I removed my hand from his. “Then let him say it,” Arthur said as he stood up to cajole his wife. “What’s going on William?” I asked my husband who seemed dumbfounded. “No, when? When she is obvious? They are friends aren’t they?” Mirabelle turned over to me and pointed. “Can someone explain to me what’s wrong?” I banged the table and I stood up, I looked at Anna who kept rubbing her belly, and my husband who couldn’t even look at me. This is my anniversary and yet, it seemed like they had secrets- secrets that they were keeping. “I will, I will explain- your husband will finally be a father and the mother is your best friend. So this is their anniversary gift to someone as barren as you. I don’t know why he married you- you don’t work, you don’t use your qualifications- being a fashion enthusiast and a content creator is nothing! Be a mother first!” “Mum!” William yelled as he stood up, Tears ran down to my flushed cheeks. I looked around but I was ostracized. I smiled and turned, I went up the stairs holding the rails while my heels clanked loud and hard. “Tessa, Tessa I can explain.” Willaims followed me. ***************************** “You can’t just leave!” Willaim held my hands as I was with my bag. “Why! Tell me why I can’t just leave. I mean- why should I stay? You banged my best friend for how long? I don’t know- I know how good you are in bed so I am sure that it’s not once or twice or three f*****g times, it was over and over again. Now tell me why. when? Why? How? Tell me how it started and I will have a rethink about it all.” I said to him as I went to my dresser, to sit. I crossed my arms and I looked at him. “Tessa-” he came over to me and touched my hands but I smacked his hands off. “Don’t f*****g Tessa me and Talk. You have ten minutes.” I said to him, I bit my lips and I stood up, I still had my hands folded, a part of me wanted to take off my red heels and hit him with it. Or I could f**k him right now till I feel better. “We-I- I am sorry.” He stuttered and it was pissing me off. “What is this? Do you see a gun with me?” I asked him with a clear face. “No, no- it was three months ago, you were at home and we were planning for the anniversary and I had too many to drink, we were at the hotel, we slept- I had too much and I f****d her. I thought I used protection but it turns out that I didn’t. She threatened to tell you but I told her not to and then she went to my mother.” I scoffed.
