Derek’s POV The sound of gunshots pierced the air, sending a chill down my spine. I dropped the crate of alcohol I was carrying and ran to the window, peering out into the darkness. I couldn't see anything, but I could hear shouting and the sounds of more gunshots. My heart was racing as I tried to figure out what was happening. Were we under attack? I turned and ran to the door, pulling it open and running outside. I saw several of my men running towards the source of the noise, their guns drawn. I followed, my heart pounding in my chest. I had to find out what was going on. As I rounded the corner, I saw a group of men huddled behind a car, exchanging gunfire with another group.
