Anna’s POV It had been five months since I had left the city and started a new life in my hometown. Not a day went by when I didn't think of Derek and wonder what had become of him. I hadn't heard anything about him since I left, so I could only assume that he was still rotting in prison. I tried not to dwell on it too much, but the thought was always in the back of my mind. My mother's voice jolted me out of my thoughts. "You're going to be late for your antenatal appointment!" she yelled. I was so lost in my thoughts that I hadn't realized the time.
