******** Chapter 3: The Rival Appears Ngozi: I don’t know who you are, but I’m coming tonight. Don’t make me regret it. Unknown: Good. You won’t be disappointed. But beware… someone else is watching. Ngozi’s heart pounded. Who else could be watching? Suddenly, her phone lit up with another message—from a different number. *Rival (text): “Funny how Sanger thinks he owns you. He’s wrong. You’re mine, Ngozi.” Ngozi: (whispers) What is this madness? Chat with Rival: Ngozi: Who is this? What do you want from me? Rival: Just to remind you who really controls Lagos’s streets. Stay away from Sanger. Or face me. Ngozi’s world was spinning. Two dangerous men, both claiming a piece of her fate. She realized tonight’s meeting wouldn’t just change her life—it might cost her everything. Chapter 4: Sparks and Danger Sanger: Ngozi, you sure know how to keep a man waiting. I almost thought you’d disappeared on me. Ngozi You should know by now, I’m no one’s property. Not even a mafia boss’s. Sanger: Hmm, I like a woman who talks back. Makes the game more interesting. But remember, I don’t take kindly to being ignored. Ngozi smiled to herself, feeling the heat from his words. Dangerous? Yes. Exciting? Definitely. She wanted to tell him how she felt, but the city was watching—and so was the rival. Ngozi: Just don’t get too comfortable, Sanger. I might surprise you. Sanger: That’s what I’m counting on, beautiful. But tonight, I want to see if you can handle me — in and out of the streets. *Chapter 5: When Shadows Move* *Narration:* The night was thick with Lagos heat, and Ngozi’s heart raced as she stepped out of the keke that dropped her a few streets from the club Sanger owned — *Velvet Red*. He had told her to come… alone. But someone else was already watching. Chat (Unknown Number): Tell your new boyfriend to stop borrowing danger. He’s walking on borrowed time. – R. Ngozi (typing… then deleting). She didn’t reply. Instead, she saved the number. Rivals don’t play fair — especially not one who signs off with just an R. Inside the club, Sanger stood like he owned the whole of Lagos — suit crisp, jaw tense, one hand holding a glass of whiskey, the other deep in his pocket. --- Chat (in person): Sanger (smirking): You came. You didn’t tell me you were this bold. Ngozi: You didn’t tell me you had enemies that text in riddles. Sanger (face darkening): Who? Ngozi: Someone who calls himself "R". Says your time is borrowed. Sanger (muttering): Ramon... That name. The air shifted. That name meant blood. A rival from Sanger’s past. Someone who had once tried to take everything from him — and failed. But now, Ramon had found Ngozi. Chapter 6: A Kiss Before War Ngozi’s breath caught in her throat as Sanger’s eyes darkened. The name *Ramon* didn’t just stir up old memories — it cracked something in him. The music from the club dimmed in her ears. All she could hear now was the thud of her heart, and the unspoken words dancing between them. --- Chat (in person): Ngozi (softly): Who is he to you? Sanger (coldly): He’s the man who tried to burn my family alive and take over the empire I bled for. Ngozi: And now… he’s texting me. Like I’m some pawn in a game I didn’t sign up for. Sanger (stepping closer): You’re not a pawn. You’re the piece I didn’t expect… the one I can’t afford to lose. His hand brushed her cheek, gentle but firm. She didn’t pull away. Couldn’t. The air around them sizzled — not just with danger, but desire. Outside, Ramon’s men watched from a black SUV. Inside, two hearts collided under red lights and whispered warnings. --- Chat (in person): Sanger (leaning in): If I kiss you now, there’s no turning back. *Ngozi (eyes locked on his):* Then stop thinking… and kiss me like the world’s about to burn.
