Chapter 6: A Kiss Before War
Ngozi’s breath caught in her throat as Sanger’s eyes darkened. The name Ramon didn’t just stir up old memories — it cracked something in him.
The music from the club dimmed in her ears. All she could hear now was the thud of her heart, and the unspoken words dancing between them.
---
Chat (in person):
Ngozi (softly):
Who is he to you?
Sanger (coldly):
He’s the man who tried to burn my family alive and take over the empire I bled for.
Ngozi:
And now… he’s texting me. Like I’m some pawn in a game I didn’t sign up for.
Sanger (stepping closer):
You’re not a pawn. You’re the piece I didn’t expect… the one I can’t afford to lose you.
His hand brushed her cheek, gentle but firm. She didn’t pull away. Couldn’t. The air around them sizzled — not just with danger, but desire.
Outside, Ramon’s men watched from a black SUV. Inside, two hearts collided under red lights and whispered warnings.
---
Chat (in person):
Sanger (leaning in):
If I kiss you now, there’s no turning back.
Ngozi (eyes locked on his):
Then stop thinking… and kiss me like the world’s about to burn.
Chapter 7: Fire and Shadows
The kiss still lingered on Ngozi’s lips when the first explosion rocked the club.
Screams echoed. Glass shattered. Bodies scrambled. Sanger’s arms wrapped around her instinctively, pulling her to the ground as another blast tore through the back entrance.
The war wasn’t coming. It was already here.
---
Chat (in the chaos):
Ngozi (gasping):
What was that?! Are we under attack?
Sanger (checking his watch, jaw clenched):
Ramon. He’s making his move… sooner than expected.
Ngozi:
I thought I had time. We had time.
Sanger (grabbing her hand):
There’s no time now. Stay close. I’ll kill anyone who tries to touch you.
Sanger pulled her through the smoky hallway, down a secret exit known only to the few who lived long enough to remember its purpose.
Outside, the club was engulfed in flames — and so was Sanger’s world.
He wasn’t just fighting for control anymore… he was fighting for her
---
Chat (inside a getaway car):
Ngozi (trembling):
This is insane. I was just trying to survive… and now I’m in a war between mafias?
Sanger (brushing her hair back):
No, love. You’re mine now. That makes you part of everything — my empire, my enemies, my sins.
Ngozi (meeting his gaze):
And what if I don’t survive it?
Sanger (dead serious):
Then I’ll burn the whole world to bring you back.
But as the car sped off into the Lagos night, a phone buzzed in Ngozi’s bag.
Unknown Number:
"Tell Sanger the girl isn’t safe anymore. She’s carrying more than he knows."
Her hands trembled.
Was it just a threat?
Or… a secret?

Chapter 8: The Secret Within
*Narration:*
Ngozi stared at the message like it was a ticking bomb.
"She’s carrying more than he knows."
Her stomach twisted — not from fear, but from the truth she had been hiding long before she met Sanger. A truth that now threatened everything.
She deleted the message before he noticed. But it was too late.
---
Chat (in the car):
Sanger (watching her):
Why did your hands just shake?
Talk to me.
Ngozi (forcing a smile):
Just tired. Everything’s moving so fast…
Sanger:
I’m not stupid, Ngozi.
Was that a message?
Ngozi:
No— I mean, yes… but it’s nothing important.
Sanger (gripping the steering wheel):
When it comes to you, everything is important.
---
They arrived at the safe house — a mansion hidden deep in the Lekki forest belt. Guards were already positioned. Sanger didn’t trust anyone now.
Except maybe… her.
He turned off the engine and looked into her eyes.
Sanger:
Ngozi… are you pregnant?
She froze.
*Ngozi:
What?
Sanger (softly):
That’s what Ramon meant, right?
"She’s carrying more than he knows."
Ngozi (quietly):
…yes.
