~Chapter 9

HARLEY I got out with him. We walk together with his hand on my shoulder as we walk to the entrance of the school. Of course people still can't resist his features. We finally made it inside school, as we walk to my locker. "You should start socializing." He says starring around. "Not everyone is like you Asher." "Not everyone is the same." He replies back. I sighed annoyingly. Before shutting my locker and turning to face him. "I don't need friends. I'm okay with just you." "You need to have more fun in your life." "I know." I replied not so seriously before rolling my eyes. More friends more troubles. I thought. The bell rings. "I'll escort you to class." "Thanks hun." I smiled lightly punching his shoulder. He smirks and rest his arm on my shoulder as we walk to class. *** "Juliet decided..." "You are hanging with my friends and cousin at break." Asher suddenly whispered in my ears. My eyes widen as I drop my pen on my note book, turning to Asher. Then my face turned to a blank stare. How could he just decide that. Those people literally hate me!. "You know I can't and don't want to." I said in a monotonous tone. Asher nods. "Yes, you are." "It's not like I need to." I said. "You need to socialize, love." "But I don't want." "I can see you do." He says staring at me. I stare back at him as we begin to have a staring contest. After ten more seconds I decided to give up. I let out a sigh. "But no one wants to be my friend. It's like they hate me or are embarrassed to even be around me." I said pouting and looking down. "That's what you think, not what they think." "No it's not. I have seen and heard from people whispering." I said skillfully looking around the class under my eyelashes. Asher sighs and there was silence between us. "Thanks for caring for me by the way." I smiled then faced back forward. After more minutes of sitting on the chair taking notes, the bell finally rings. I stood up, so did Asher. Then I started packing my things back in my bag. Asher passes me. "If you really value what we have, meet me with my cousin at break." I gasp at what he whispered into my ears, before he takes his leave. He didn't say friendship, he said what we have. Does that mean more than friendship? Or it hasn't even reach that stage yet. I shrug then huffed. Why does he even care?!?  I so badly wanted to yell out. *** I pushed the double doors of the cafeteria open and walked in. My eyes went to were me and Asher always sit together. He wasn't there. I stare at his cousin Klein. Then found Asher's eyes on me. I didn't expect the disappointment that crossed my heart when Asher blankly looked away. Is he that angry? I let out a sigh and made my way to our table. I can't go there. Knowing Klein always looks at me like some I am some s**t and Janine and her friends are also there. I'm not looking for trouble. I shook my head. I took my seat on our table and roughly dropped my bag on the table, feeling really lonely here. I sigh and couldn't help but look at Asher. He was chuckling at whatever his friend said. I huffed and took out my lunch. Taking out the bread and angrily shoved it inside my mouth. *** The bell rang for after school and I got up, packed my books and slide my bag on over my shoulder. Since after break or should I say since break started Asher never talked to me or wait for me by my locker like he always does. I just reach my locker with invisible someone waiting by it - hope. I went out the exit. I stood outside next to the double doors. Should I still climb in his car? Or it's actually a bad idea? After few more seconds, I finally decided. I'm already use to passing familiar houses and streets, so it shouldn't be a problem walking. I shrugged and started my walk home. I have no choice right now. *** I finally saw my house and I was more than glad. I felt like I just won a lottery. I fasten my walk till I reached the porch. I smiled before taking out the key and wasted no time unlocking. I got in and locked the door. "Mum! I'm home!" I yelled. The whole house felt with silence, no reply.  "Mum!" I yelled again. But again felt with the silence. I could feel my heart rate already escalating. I slowly made my way upstairs. I could feel myself panicking. "Mum! I'm home!!" "Over here sweetie!!" I heard her. My body automatically relaxed. I let out a sigh of relief. Why did she take so long to answer. I quickly run to her room. I opened the door and found her with only her towel wrapped around her hourglass figure, with droplet of water on her and her hair wrapped with another white towel. She stared down at her clothe before turning her head to me with a smile. "Hey sweetie, how was school?" She asked. I quickly walked closer to her, ignoring her wet body as I hugged her. "Why did you take long to reply?" I asked resting my head on her shoulder as she slowly hugged me back. "I did?" She asked. "Yes, I have been calling you three times already." I whined. "Oh, I'm sorry love, my mind must have been taken away. Are you okay?" She asked as I sniffed. I don't really know why I'm crying. Is it because Asher ignored me for the second half of school time or because my mum scared the hell out of me. "Yes, I'm fine." I took my head from her shoulder and smiled at her. "Are you sure? Did something happen at school today?" She asked looking concerned while searching my eyes. "No nothing. I'm really fine mum." I said walking away from her. "I need to go and change to comfy clothes." I said and left the room, leaving her confused. I also don't get myself right now.
