~Chapter 10

HARLEY

"SWEETIE! ASHER IS HERE!"

I jolt up from my chair. He actually came to fetch me, I thought he was angry. Wait, how did mum even know his name?

I quickly take my bag and phone before coming out the room, closing it and rushed down the stairs.

Asher and my mum are talking but it felt a bit awkward on the dinning table.

"So how is school?"

"It's fine." Asher replies. "How's everything?"

"Everything is fine." She replies. Asher slowly nods then the silence follows.

"How are your parents?"

"They are fine." Asher replies then my mum nods. The silence follows yet again after that short talk. I sighed. I should really jump in before it gets more awkward.

I went to the dinning table were they are seated. I turned to Asher smiling brightly. He looked at me blankly, no emotions shown on his face, before getting up. My smile almost immediately drain down the sewer. He then turned to my mum.

"It was nice meeting you Mrs. Hale." He smiled sincerely to my mum.

"Oh you can call me Kate, I am still young and beautiful to feel old, now don't you think? And it was nice to meet you too."

"Yes Kate, that's definitely true. We should be on our way now." Asher says before walking towards the door.

"Bye Asher! Bye Sweetie!"

"Bye mum!" I yelled then got out and shut the door at my back. I turned around and looked forward only to find Asher already waiting inside the car.

I quickly fast walk towards it and got in before finally shutting the door.

He immediately starts the car.

After few minutes of the suffocating silence Asher decides to speak.

"I waited for you after school."

"Oh really." I asked a bit shocked. He actually waited. I thought he was long gone.

"Yeah." He said.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you would wait." I answered honestly. So he did wait. He still wanted to drop me home even after our.....argument?

He kept silence. The car filled with pure silence but it wasn't suffocating as it was before

Few minutes later we made it to school. I got out and waiting for Asher to join me by my side.

He takes a round from his car, but to my surprise he didn't even turn my direction as he passes by me and walks straight to the entrance. I felt like my jaw almost touched the ground as I stare shocked at his built moving back.

I huffed and quickly walk faster to pass him, showing I also don't give a damn. He wants to play this way? Then so be it.

I walked pass him and push open the double wooden doors. I got in and went straight to my locker.

While busy with my locker, I just couldn't take my eyes off the direction he took.

Hopefully he would turn back and walk up to me, say he's sorry then we move on right? He will do that real soon right? Argh! Why do I even care?

The bell rings, I let out a sigh and just shut my locker going ahead with my books. At least we still sit next to each other in English. I shrugged with that thought in mind.

I. Just. Could not. Think. Straight.

I look by my side for the third time and the chair is still empty. He actually skipped English!

Why is he overreacting?!

If you really value what we have, meet me with my cousin at break.

I decided to put myself in his shoes. So, how will I react if I say this to him and he doesn't follow......

My eyes slowly widen. It will definitely look like I don't care about him! It's just like I'm just using him to keep myself company. Like he meant nothing to me from the beginning. That's what he must be thinking! Oh no, now I really feel bad.

I have no choice. What is Asher using on me?

Break finally came. I push open the cafeteria door and got in. My eyes roam around the cafeteria then it landed on Asher. He was with his group of friends laughing just making my heart melt weirdly.

I huff and stomp my foot as I walk to where we usually sit. I pulled back my chair and sat.

My eyes couldn't help but find their way to Asher. I couldn't stop starring at Asher. I sigh and got up, took my bag as I slowly walk over to were Asher was seated.

I stood next to him, not sure what to do. His friends turned towards me and glanced at me with a questioning, that got Asher's attention as he also turned to look who it is. I gave him a smile.

His grin brighten my day, as he got up and landed an unexpected kiss on the top of my head. He then rests his arm on my shoulder, pulling me closer.

"You came." He says starring at me. I nodded. Asher then turns to his friends on the table. "Guys, This is Harley, my lovely friend. Harley this is Jax, my close friend and buddy." He points at one of the football team. He grins and nodded at me. I grin back and waved at him. He looks cool with me. So this isn't as bad as I thought. I mentally release a breathe of relief. I was just overreacting.

"This is Gregg, Leo and Andrew." He introduces me to the people I already knew. But I just grin and nodded waving at the three of them. They grin back and wave too.

"This is Tessa." He said pointing at the lady with blonde hair who is currently sitting on Klein's lap. I usually see her but you know they are many people in this school so I didn't really pay much attention on her although she's actually so pretty. She grins at me and waves "Hi!".

I greet her back waving. "Hey."

"Then I'm sure you already know Klein, Felicia, Emily and Janine." He said. I nodded in agreement. Janine was sitting on Gregg's laps, Emily and Felicia were seated on the two chairs after her.

They all just hum in response not even glancing my way. I sigh. At least it's the only four of them over nine of them that actually doesn't like me. Yeah, I shouldn't of course expect all of them to like me.. I decided to shrug them off.

"Here." Asher brings a chair for me to sit by him.

"Thanks." I said and sat on the chair. On my left side was Jax who was just busy on his phone.

I sigh in relief, they aren't as bad as I actually thought. I underestimated them.

"Anything for sweet cake." He says. Everyone on the huge table turn to look at Asher and I. I rolled my eyes at Asher.

"Not again and at least not here." I whisper to his ear.

"I will do it anywhere and anytime I like. Come on, take out your lunch and eat." He says pointing at my bag as he makes himself comfortable besides me.

I nodded and took out my lunch from my back.

I heard a few snickers as I put the lunchbox on the table. I looked up around to find who was snickering but I found everyone doing their own thing.

I shrug and just continue eating as I took out the fork too. I open my lunchbox and deep my fork to the macaroni with mince meat, then into my mouth. It really taste nice, thanks to mum.

"Let me taste." Asher says as he grabs the fork from my hand and deeps it in the macaroni with the mince meat, and then into his mouth. He moans out. "So good!" He said taking more from my lunchbox. Then into his mouth again. "Who cooked this?"

"My mum." I said smiling.

"She's good." Asher nods. He deeps into the macaroni again but this time he brought it to my lips. "Open up, sweet cake." I shook my head.

"I can feed myself Asher." I said trying to take the fork with the food on it from him but he moves it away and shook his head no.

"No, just open up, or I would just force it down your throat." He says.

Jax snickers. Gregg spread out the cool liquid he was drinking from his mouth. While some of the girls glared diggers at me. I looked at them confused.

I shrugged then opened my mouth as Asher carefully puts the macaroni in my mouth then removes the fork.

I chew on the macaroni slowly and shyly, thanks to most of them starring at me and Asher well except Jax was not staring but kept his face on his phone.

Asher then feeds himself, then me. It went on like that till my lunchbox was empty.

"Want some water?" Asher asked taking the bottle filled with water. I nodded. He then twisted it open handing it to me. I drank half of it, as Asher finished the remaining half.

Most of them wouldn't stop stealing glances at Asher and I as I felt uncomfortable at their intense looks. But it seems like Asher didn't notice at all or am I the delusional one?

Janine suddenly stood up, same with the Emily and Felicia as they stare at me before leaving the table.

They must be bored, right? Let's hope that is the case.
