Act 1, Scene 9:
Setting: Lee Yeon’s dorm room. Night. He’s lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. A soft jazz track plays from his phone. The room is calm — but his mind isn’t.
⸻
LEE YEON
(voiceover, quiet and sharp)
He thinks I forgot.
(He sits up slowly. The light from the desk lamp flickers across his face. His soft expression fades — replaced by something colder, deeper.)
LEE YEON
(voiceover)
As if I could forget being called disgusting.
As if I could forget standing in the rain like a fool.
As if I could forget him.
(He walks to the mirror. Touches his face. Smirks.)
LEE YEON
(voiceover)
But I can play this game too, sunbae.
(Cut to black.)
Act 1, Scene 10: “Why Can’t I Tell?”
Setting: Taeyang’s apartment. Kitchen counter. He’s sitting on a stool, a half-empty mug in front of him, staring at nothing. The room is spotless, but his mind is messy.
⸻
TAEYANG
(voiceover)
He smiled. He said he forgot.
(He grips the mug tighter.)
TAEYANG
But that smile — it’s not the same smile.
It’s… it’s like he knows something.
Or he’s planning something.
(Montage: He’s trying to study but can’t focus. Scrolling through social media, searching for Lee Yeon. Rewatching the group chat messages. Going back to his class notes just to reread Lee Yeon’s handwriting.)
⸻
TAEYANG
(voiceover, faster now)
Why can’t I tell? Why is he so calm?
I should feel relieved… but I don’t.
I feel like… I’m being watched.
(He looks toward the window. It’s closed. But he still draws the curtain slowly.)
⸻
TAEYANG
(voice soft)
What are you really thinking, Lee Yeon?
(Silence. Then — a message notification lights up his phone. It’s from Lee Yeon: “Group meeting moved to 3pm tomorrow. Don’t be late, sunbae.” Followed by a smiley face. Just a smiley.)
(TAEYANG stares at it like it’s a threat.)
