CONFESSION

249 Words
Act 1, Scene 1 Setting: Outside a high school building. It’s raining. There’s a faint sound of thunder. A single streetlamp glows. LEE YEON, a boy with a confident smile and dark secrets, stands under the rain, soaked. He waits. Moments later, YOON TAEYANG enters, holding an umbrella. He stops a few feet away. ⸻ LEE YEON (voice trembling, not from the cold) You came. YOON TAEYANG (silent for a moment) You said it was important. LEE YEON (smiling faintly) It is. (pause) Sunbae… I like you. (Thunder rolls softly in the background. TAEYANG doesn’t move.) LEE YEON (sincere, but a little wild) I’ve liked you since last year. Since you defended me in front of the others. Since you told me I didn’t have to act strong all the time. YOON TAEYANG (surprised, quiet) Yeon, you don’t know what you’re saying. LEE YEON Yes, I do. I know exactly what I’m saying. I watch you. Every day. The way you push your glasses up when you’re annoyed. The way you walk faster when you’re nervous. I know your schedule better than I know mine. (He takes a step closer. The rain keeps falling between them.) LEE YEON Do you know how hard it is… not to reach out? Not to touch you? YOON TAEYANG (tense) You’ve been… watching me? (LEE YEON doesn’t deny it. He just smiles, head tilted.) LEE YEON I guess you could say… I stalk the one I love. (Lights dim. Rain sounds fade slowly.)
