Act 1, Scene 2
Setting: Same. The rain falls heavier now. TAEYANG stares at LEE YEON. His eyes are unreadable. The umbrella tilts slightly in his hand.
⸻
YOON TAEYANG
(quiet, but sharp)
You said you like me?
(He steps back. The umbrella doesn’t cover him anymore. His voice hardens.)
YOON TAEYANG
Disgusting.
(LEE YEON flinches. TAEYANG turns and walks away without another word. The rain muffles the sound of his footsteps. LEE YEON is left standing in the downpour, completely still.)
⸻
LEE YEON
(softly, barely a whisper)
Disgusting…?
(He laughs once — broken, breathless. Then he drops to his knees, soaking wet. His voice cracks as tears mix with the rain.)
LEE YEON
I’m disgusting?
(Blackout.)
Act 1, Scene 3
Setting: Present day. University courtyard. It’s spring — bright, lively, full of students. But LEE YEON walks through the crowd, headphones in, hood up, alone. The voices around him blur into silence. He’s older now. Handsome, cold, unreadable — but his eyes give him away. He pauses by a bench, staring at nothing.
⸻
LEE YEON
(voiceover)
Why am I remembering that?
(He sits. Pulls out a cigarette but doesn’t light it. Just holds it.)
LEE YEON
It’s not like I’m hoping to see him.
(Pause. He forces a smile, mocking himself.)
LEE YEON
I know this is the university he was going to after graduation but…
(shrugs)
It’s not because of him I’m here.
(He leans back, closes his eyes — but the pain flashes behind them.)
LEE YEON
Yeah. Right.
(Lights fade.)
