Chapter Ten

The time consuming journey to Evergreen finally came to an end after Eleven combined hours. Two cars already awaited them at the airport as they arrived with their mini suitcases since they were only going to be staying for a few days.

"Hello Evergreen" Alexa beamed with ecstasy as she studied the beautiful environment.

"There are only just three rooms reserved for us over there at the resort, under each company name, so you ladies go on ahead, I would just lodge in a hotel and come over first thing tomorrow morning or whenever my presence is needed " Ross informed the girls as they now stood waiting by the cars.

"You could come along with us, Alexa and I can conveniently share a room" Brenda Stated trying to convince him, while Alexa mindlessly nodded her head showing her supportive agreement.

"I'm pretty sure y'all won't want an old man getting in your way, so you ladies, have the suite to yourselves and have fun while at it" Ross declined grinning with a wave of his hand as he chuckled at their expressions.

"Good evening Ladies and Gentleman, I am James, I'll be your Chauffeur through out your stay here." A formally dressed young man wearing a customized shirt with a logo, who appeared to be in his Late Twenties introduced himself as he marched toward their small group.

"We should probably get going to the resort right about now so you could relax a bit before your dinner party" James added after they all casually nodded to his self introduction.

"There's a dinner party?" Alexa inquired now turning to face Ross.

"Yes, there is" Ross replied nodding affirmatively

"What for?" Alexa asked looking confused

"It's just some formal way to get the participants acquainted with one another, with a whole lot of food, drinks and merrymaking before the Fair officially begins. The dinner is to begin in about Two hours time" Ross informed her looking into his wristwatch.

"Oh, and here are the invitation cards" Ross added digging into the back pocket of his trouser and handing over three golden cards to Brenda.

"You're not attending dinner also?" Brenda asked examining the cards in her hands before passing them on to Valerie.

"Nahhh..... You girls go on ahead, I'm a bit Jet lagged so I'm probably gonna sleep the rest of the day off in my hotel room." Ross informed them stretching his arms while yawning loudly.

"Alright" Brenda replied simply as James placed their belongings in the booth of the white latest model 4matic Benz.

"Please do not hesitate to call me if you guys need anything" Ross said in a serious tone waving at them as he got into the second car totally identical to theirs.

"Bye" Alexa managed to say before the driver sped off now leaving the three of them alone with James.

"Let's get going" Brenda announced as she stepped into the vehicle and the others climbed in after her with Alexa beside her at the back seat and Valerie up front beside James as he sped off in the opposite direction.

The rest of the journey continued in silence as each of the girls glued their eyes to their windows watching in Awe as the Classic High buildings breezed by as James drove carefully below average speed limit till they approached a largely fenced area that James drove into through the large silver coated gate that towered high up into the sky.

The girls alighted the vehicle after he brought it to a halt in the parking lot and gazed at the premises.

It had well trimmed flowers that were arranged in an orderly manner of several intertwining rows and columns surrounding the spacious parking lot that had many other cars similar to the one James had brought with him with a few staffs walking around all over the place wearing the same customized shirt as he.

They walked a bit further and the Resort hidden by a taller array of flowers, became visible to them, it was incredibly enormous.

They pulled up to the main building, it towered high above them in the sky where the sun had suddenly began to set, the floor, walls and ceiling wore the same Elegant bold colours with numerous tiny bulbs illuminating the main entrance and part of the surrounding area.

"Is this where we're staying?"Alexa whispered to Valerie tugging at her shirt.

"Yeah.... In one of the single suites just like every other company each have a suite allocated to it's members" Valerie explained.

"Reservation for Mont Corp please" Valerie inquired in a formal tone as the Receptionists welcomed them warmly.

"I'm glad to see you all arrived safely, please kindly wait while we check you in" The red haired receptionist spoke up as her colleague tapped through the large sized monitor that sat on the desk.

"That will be building Twelve" her colleague spoke up returning her eyes back in their direction from the large screen smiling widely.

"Thank you" Valerie replied returning the smile as she collected the key from the red haired receptionist.

"Please enjoy your stay, would you like a schedule of the resort's activities?" The red haired receptionist inquired holding up a slim book she picked up from a pile of a thousand others on the desk.

"Yes thank you" Valerie curtly replied taking the magazine-like book from her hand before their trio headed out to find their building.

The suites were situated by the Right hand side behind the foyer. They had quite a long walk as they had to walk past Eleven large suites with similar build and color before they arrived at theirs in the exact same form.

They arrived at their building and walked in after Valerie unlocked the door with the key she had collected from the receptionist.

The interior of the building wore neutral colors with the high ceilings and walls painted in white, while the marble tiled floor had the same pitch black colour with the window frames.

The building had Three rooms just as Ross had informed them earlier and Brenda picked the last room. It was clean and cozy and the whole back wall against the vast garden was made of glass allowing her a beautiful scenery with a well laid queen sized bed, bed side tables and lamps, a vanity table with a wide mirror, the other side of the room held two doors, one which led to the bathroom and the other which was a tiny closet.

Alexa's room was next to hers while Valerie's was next to Alexa's all having the same fittings and positionings.

Brenda unpacked her suitcase and placed a few items on the vanity table and neatly hung her clothes in the little closet while Valerie and Alexa were also busy doing the same.

Brenda sighed when her back hit the soft pillow as she spread out on the bed. She was about to close her eyes and have a nice quick nap while enjoying the gentle breeze that seeped into her room from the swaying trees in the garden, before her door swung open revealing Alexa and Valerie both clad in their briefs grinning widely.

"What?" Brenda bit out slightly raising her head and balancing her weight on her elbows looking in their direction.

"We have a dinner to attend in the next Fourty minutes remember?" Alexa replied walking into the room with Valerie walking closely behind her.

"But I'm now so tired" Brenda replied turning her whole body now lying flat on her chest as she sank her face into the pillow.

"How about we rest for the next twenty minutes then go get ready?" Valerie suggested jumping on the bed beside Brenda.

"Sounds like a perfect plan" Alexa agreed also jumping in leaving Brenda in between her and Valerie.

"What do you say Brie?" Alexa asked softly tapping Brenda who still had her face to the pillow.

"Great plan" Brenda replied through the pillow.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

Alexa and Valerie chorused unable to make out her muffled response.

Brenda lifted both hands sluggishly and flashed them a lazy thumbs up as she didn't have any strength left to repeat her sentence or chase them to their own rooms. All she wanted at the moment was to lay on this bed till Dawn.

"Time's up sleepy beauties" Valerie announced jumping out of the bed and clapping her hands together continuously in a successful attempt to awaken the sisters.

"Were you by any chance the time keeper back in some highschool camping?" Alexa asked grumbling and stretching her body as she yawned loudly.

"Quit making those loud noises with your hands for heaven's sake" Brenda complained throwing her pillow in Valerie's direction.

"Great, everyone's up, let's go get ready" Valerie replied pleased with herself as she caught the pillow before it landed on her face.

"I'm kinda looking forward to that dinner, I'm starving" Alexa confessed rising to her feet before she disappeared out of the room into hers.

"Fine, I'll take a quick shower and put something on" Brenda reluctantly replied peeling herself off the bed.

Brenda made her way for the bathroom and had a quick nice shower, dried herself off and went through her clothes mentally deciding on what to put on.

She settled for a long Black off shoulder gown with sleeves made purely of expensive lace and a deep V cut down to the small of her back, the silky smooth material of her gown clung to her body like a second skin revealing her perfect curves at all the right angles. She tied her hair up into a tight ponytail leaving two strands of hair in front to roll down her lightly made up face.

"I'm ready to....... Oh my God, you look amazing!" Alexa commented barging into the widely opened room scanning her appearance with appreciative eyes.

"Thanks Sis!... You don't look bad yourself" Brenda replied running her eyes through Alexa's Royal Blue dress.

The dress was form fitting to just above her knees, then fanned out in large pleats down to her feet where her well manicured toenails were visible from her four inch peep toe heels. The mermaid dress and her mix of messy braids pinned together in a low bun made her look mythical as she dusted her eyelids with deep colours that totally matched her lipstick.

"I know right" Alexa replied swirling and giggling in response.

"Where's Valerie?" Brenda asked shaking her head and chuckling at her sister's display.

"I'm right here" Valerie announced from behind the door before Alexa could respond.

She tiptoed into the room holding up the front of her voluminous gown with her fingers as the girls drank in her appearance.

She was clad in a strapless ivory white dress that resembled a ball gown, it had a softened sweetheart neckline with the bodice snug firmly around her tiny waist. With her shiny dark hair cascading down her back in soft waves.

"She looks like a Bride" Brenda Stated gaping at the grinning Valerie who stood by the door.

"No, she looks like an Angel" Alexa countered which earned her a frown from Brenda.

"Bride!" Brenda bit back

"Angel!" Alexa replied not backing out.

"Bride!!"

"Angel!!"

"Bride!!!"

"Angel!!!"

"Angel or not, we're so late, James has been here for the past half an hour, we need to go" Valerie informed them cutting off their soon to escalate argument.

"Alright... Alright.... Let's get going" Brenda replied snatching her black clutch purse from the top of her bed after strapping on her shoes.

"Good to see you again Ladies" James greeted with his head slightly bowed as they exited their suite one after the other.

"The Venue is only about five minutes drive away from here, we'll be there in no time" James added before motioning them to climb into the car.

They got to the venue and Valerie showed their invitations to the huge suited up guy that manned the door and he moved aside and opened up the door widely allowing them access.

Alexa was the first to step in holding her head high as she glanced round at the large group of people chatting and laughing away looking all decked up.

"Alright ladies, it's party time" Alexa said as Valerie and Brenda walked in beside her.
