Chapter Eleven

"No No You are definitely not having any of those"Brenda scolded taking the filled glass of champagne Alexa had snatched from the server's tray as he walked past their trio still glued to the same spot a few feet away from the door since they arrived at the dinner party.

"Oh come on!" Alexa whined frowning with pleading eyes.

"No at all Child" Brenda replied with a firm shake of her head to show her disapproval as she held the glass firmly closer to herself.

"But I definitely can have one of these" Alexa replied beaming as she snatched another glass of cocktail from a different server that passed by with an almost empty tray.

"Not on my watch child" Brenda replied snatching the second glass after slipping her clutch purse under her arm to prevent it from falling to the ground.

"Oh come on!" Alexa roared a bit annoyed.

"These are alcoholic so you aren't having neither of them, read my lips No" Brenda replied dragging out her last word in Alexa's face.

"This isn't some kiddies party so I doubt there'll be any sorta mocktail or fruit juices available for sister hindering people like me" Alexa spat out

"Too bad" Brenda replied dryly handing the glass of cocktail over to Valerie who wordlessly collected it from her.

"So, Sister dear, what do you suggest I drink?" Alexa asked crossing her hands over her chest and pushing out one foot in a bratty stance.

"There's something called water" Brenda replied winking at her sister as she lifted the glass of champagne to her lips.

"How could y..... Valeria, do something!" Alexa called out to Valerie stomping her feet on the tiled floor.

"Hey... I'm sitting this one out..... Sorry" Valerie replied raising her free hand in the air and lifting her glass in her other hand to her lips also.

"My My..... This is good stuff" Brenda admitted looking at the remaining content of her glass after gulping down a whole lot of it.

Valerie nodded her head to support the motion as she took a sip from her glass savoring the taste.

"Really guys?" Alexa asked exchanging glares between them.

"Very well then, I'm going to find myself a glass of water since I can't have any Wine" Alexa murmured and turned sharply on her heels to move away from them as they both chuckled at her in plain mockery.

"Wait up we're coming with...." Brenda started but was interrupted by Alexa's loud gasp as she bumped into someone almost tripping over him till he caught her mid air by her waist in a bridal style.

Alexa balanced herself on her own two feet and quickly glanced around the large hall, thankfully enough, no one saw her almost fall, sighing in relief, she turned to her savior and flashed him a wide smile showing her gratitude.

"Ah! Miss Montez! I'm glad to see you have arrived, please come with me, I would like to introduce you to some of our guests" A tall Slim lady appeared from nowhere dressed elegantly in a silver open back dress that reached just above her knees, nudging Brenda to come along with her.

"Just a moment please" Brenda replied curtly flashing her an apologetic smile as she walked briskly over to Valerie and pulled her aside.

"I'll be heading out with that lady over there, keep an eye on her please and call me if anything happens, I'll be back soon." Brenda whispered to Valerie eyeing the two men that were now flirting with her sister.

"Sure" Valerie simply replied nodding firmly as Brenda walked back to the Intruding lady.

"No drinking! I have my eyes on you" Brenda mouthed to Alexa as she pointed her index and middle finger at her eyes and then back at Alexa before she went off with the lady making her way with ease through the thick crowd.

"You sure look pretty in that dress" Her savior commented pulling her attention back to him from her sister's continuous backward glares as she continued deeper into the crowd.

"Thank you...... You don't look bad either" Alexa informed him shamelessly scanning his tall form clad in a deep shade of blue suit with an azure coloured tie. His dark brown hair was trimmed and combed back with a few locks falling over on both sides with ocean blue eyes completing his alluring look.

"I'm Mason Liam, and this is My Brother Michael." He introduced pulling his distracted brother closer.

"Oh Hi Mason it's nice to meet you both.... I'm sorry I bumped into you earlier" Alexa apologized stretching out her hand.

"Nahh.... It's alright, so long as you tell me your name" Mason answered taking her hand in his and lifting it up to his lips placing a soft feathered kiss upon it.

"I'm Alexa Montez" Alexa replied chuckling.

"Also here in Evergreen for the Fair I suppose?" Michael asked finally speaking after studying her for quite some time.

"Aren't we all?" Alexa replied now also taking in his appearance.

He was very much similar to Mason in appearance only a bit taller which made Alexa presume he was the Older brother. His darker Shade of brown hair was also trimmed and combed backwards and he also had the same oceanic blue eyes. He reeked of elegance in his Hand tailored black suit and shoes that definitely cost a fortune.

"Is she with you?" Michael whispered discreetly pointing at Valerie who stood meters away from them punching at her keypad with full attention.

"Yeah, she is" Alexa replied nodding after glancing back at Valerie.

"Just a moment please" Michael replied grinning widely before he strode over to Valerie.

"So, what company do you represent?" Mason asked Alexa as Micheal moved over to the now blushing Valerie.

"Uhhh..... The Montcorp." Alexa informed.

"Oh my.... The Montez's group?" Mason asked with wide eyes.

"Uhhh...... Yeah.... My Parents headed the company together, till... . they both passed few months back" Alexa informed him with her eyes down drawing imaginary circles on the floor with the sharp tip of her heel shivering internally at the remembrance of her parents sudden death.

"I'm really sorry" Mason replied with a remorse filled voice.

"Nahhh..... It's fine.. thanks" Alexa replied swallowing past a lump in her throat waving off the topic.

"So, which of the events will you be participating in on Monday? Uh Debate? Presentation or.........

" Mason asked smartly trying to change the subject.

"What? Oh..... None of them.... Actually I'm more like an extra wheel." Alexa replied cutting him off.

"I believe it's safe to say I'm just here on vacation" Alexa whispered giggling.

"Well and off cause to mentally support my sister and her team" She added quickly with a wide grin.

"She's your sister?" Mason questioned with a raised brow darting his eyes at Valerie.

"No.... She's my sister's Personal Assistant, my sister went off a few minutes ago with some fancy lady just after you and your brother stopped by" Alexa stated scanning through the crowd for any trace of them.

"Oh.... Now I see why she was glaring at us. Protective sister huh?" Mason replied beaming with tamed curiosity.

"Way protective!" Alexa replied sighing.

"Tell me about it!..... Michael can be like that most times, it's just a thing with older siblings" Mason told her rolling his eyes.

"I know right" Alexa replied laughing at his totally displeased facial expression.

"Hey guys..... I found us an empty table, let's go sit." Valerie announced interruption them with Michael following close behind her.

"Yes please..... I'm pretty tired of standing" Alexa confessed stretching her legs.

"Hi, I'm Mason " Mason introduced himself holding out his hand to Valerie.

"I'm Valerie, Valerie Smith." Valerie replied introducing herself and taking his hand in hers.

"Nice to meet you" Mason replied briefly shaking her hand as she flashed him a wide smile.

"Now that we're all done with introductions and stuff, please let's go grab the table" Alexa Cut in walking towards the empty table waving them forward.

They headed towards the table and chatted away most of the time, it turned out the Liam brothers were very great company to hang out with.

They almost forgot they were on a Business related dinner and laughed loudly at various intervals like school children gossiping in the hallway.

"I see you guys are having fun without me" Brenda said announcing her presence as she exchanged questioning looks between Alexa and Valerie.

"Now, who do we have here?" Michael asked grinning widely at Brenda.

"Oh guys..... This is my sister Brenda. Brenda this is Michael, and that's Mason" Alexa rose to her feet and introduced them to each other as they exchanged brief handshakes.

"How did you find us in this large crowd?" Alexa asked her scanning the crowd that seemed to have increased greatly in number.

"Oh...... I just listened to your bell like laughter and followed it" Brenda replied tapping Alexa's cheeks.

"Where did she take you?"Alexa asked chuckling and slapping her hands from her face.

"To some round table where all head contestants were present to officially introduce us to each other and room was given for a few questions here and there" Brenda replied throwing her weight on one of the empty chairs beside Micheal.

"So, Brenda huh? You say you've met the head contestants yeah? which technically means you've met my dad, How well would you like to have him as your Father in-law?" Michael asked with a grin that extremely drew up the corners of his lips..

"What a flirt, Have you no shame at all?" Alexa asked slapping him playfully on the shoulder.

"I really do hope he's not the Grumpy old man who antagonized me all evening" Brenda asked turning to face him.

"My dad is quite old, but he sure as hell ain't grumpy. Do you happen to know the name of the man?" Michael asked intrigued by her statement.

" Fritz?..... No, I think Franco?.... Or was it Fred? something Anderson? I don't really know" Brenda replied squinting her eyes at the ceiling trying to recall.

"That sure wasn't my dad, my Dad's name is Anthony Liam" Michael informed her chuckling.

"Oh! I know him, he sat next to me! He's your dad? Aww he's such a nice man" Brenda replied as her eyes held appreciation.

"Yes.. he's my dad and here he comes...." Michael replied standing up to greet his dad who approached them from the opposite direction.

"I've been looking all over for you guys, you line was not reachable and Mason didn't take my calls" Mr Liam said frowning as he eyed Mason who was lost in another world with Valerie in some conversation as they sat side by side laughing at what was only known to them both.

"Hi, Mr Liam. I'm so glad I could meet you again tonight, oh.... This is my sister Alexa." Brenda greeted shaking his hand with a bright smile as she introduced Alexa to him.

"Oh Miss Montez! I'm glad to know you both are doing well, I see you've met both my sons, I hope they didn't cause you any trouble? " Mr Liam asked laughing casually.

"Oh.. not at all, they were great company actually"Alexa confessed smiling at Michael.

"That's good to know. You girls should probably head back now, dinner is almost over and you need all the rest you can get" Mr Liam sudgested exchanging glances between the sisters with Fatherly concern.

"We should also get going, the driver is here, I'll go ahead now, you boys catch up soon okay?" He added now facing Micheal.

"Okay Dad, we'll be out in just a moment" Michael replied.

"Goodnight ladies. See you tomorrow Miss Montez" Mr Liam said patting Brenda on her shoulders before he turned to leave.

"Dad's Leaving?" Mason asked as he and Valerie walked over to where the three of them now stood.

"And we are too, prince charming" Michael replied

"Oh come on! I was just about to......" Mason grumbled.

"It's quite late, we really should get going" Brenda announced cutting him off.

"I guess I'll see y'all tomorrow, at the first stage" Michael said directing his statement at the three ladies who all wordlessly nodded in response.

"I would have wished you luck but, what can I say? It's a competition and we are on different teams. I'm quite greedy, so I'll save all the luck for my Team" Brenda said to Micheal smirking and playfully lifting one of her brows as they all walked out of the building with Alexa, Valerie and Mason strolling behind them.

"Well, what can I say? I like my women greedy, if you understand what I mean" Micheal replied smirking back at her.

"I refuse to understand" Brenda replied pouting and lifting her index finger up as she raised her head and glided out the door.
