Chapter 15 Prince Ezerette Mclane To see Josh crying was a big shock to me. I felt guilty about how I acted. Now I was sure that he had been through hell. That explained - though not much - the aura of the house; dark and sad. After that, Josh planned a date - not the romantic date - for us. It would be just a friendly date, a date where we suppose to get to know more each other. Though I didn't know what usually happens in a 'friendly date'. I'd never been into a date before, much less to a guy. Josh had let me sleep on his bed. Much to my struggle, I couldn't put up a fight because he was already sleeping, light snores filling up the room. His arm was draped over my torso, and if I did such a thing as move, he'd tighten his hold around me and push me into his chest. There was too much embarrassment. His body was warmth, and it helped to keep me warm. The room was cold, and the A/C was turned off. The windows were open, and the light of the moon seeped through the open windows. The night was calm, only our soft breathing could be heard.  Looking at the sleeping figure of Josh, he was at peace. His eyes were softly sealed and lips were slightly parted. I found myself getting allured that made me scoot towards him. I watched him closely. His jawline seemed strong and there were unshaved thin hair across it. I raised my finger and touched his nose, which made him scrunch his nose up. I found it cute and suppressed a chuckle as it could wake him up. This had been a tiring day. I didn't know how much time I had consumed just staring at him until I found myself yawning and getting tired. So I scooted closer and let him wrap his other arm around me and found it comforting that made me sleep peacefully. +++ Josh is nowhere to be found. When I rolled off the bed, he wasn't on the bed. I opened an eye and searched the room, hoping I could see him striding across the room. But no, he wasn't. The sun was shining, it passed through the open windows and made the room warm. The birds were chattering and there was a bird on the window sill. I took off the duvet around me and stood up, stretching my body. When I got downstairs, Meg was in the kitchen area, drying some wine glasses. She saw me approaching and gave a small smile. "Good morning, Meg." I chirped happily. She said good morning back and motioned the dining area. "Where's Josh?" "He's left already to work," she said as she dried the glasses. I was a bit disappointed that he didn't wake me up. I was more disappointed because I didn't see his face when I woke up. There was a hope that sparked within me when my mind became aware that I had just woken up; and that hope was to see his beautiful face smiling down at me. "He made you some breakfast, though." Meg said as she gave me a look over her shoulder, a small smile playing on her lips. "That boy. When did he grow up so fast? I'm pretty sure yesterday he didn't know how to cook, and earlier this morning, I found him making breakfast. Although struggling a bit, but he managed." "Really?" I asked her with shock evident in my voice. It was surprising to hear that he had made a breakfast to me, and it made it even more special that he didn't know how to cook but still tried it. The feeling was... nice. It was nice to be taken care of someone that weren't related to you. It's a different feeling than what your mom did every morning. It was very nice. Trudging happily through the dining area, I saw that there was a plate on the table. I went over there and took a peek. I had to laugh because the edges were kind of burnt. But not really. He cooked scrambled egg, a size of a plate, and he made a face on it. The eyes were made of catsup and the smile was bacon. It was silly. I grabbed a fork and stabbed the egg and shoved it into my mouth. He had cooked it perfectly. A little amount of salt. "Cute," I said, mouth full, enjoying what Josh had prepared for me. +++ I went straight to Cheena's house and as usual, she was there with her laptop on her lap. When she saw me, she was grinning at me like a total fool and patted her bed. I obliged and sat beside her, wrapping my arms around her. She knew how much this was exhausting me and attempted to comfort me. I decided to break the news on her, knowing she knew what to say or what to advice. "Josh set up a date for us," I told her, leaning down my head and resting it on her shoulder. She squealed and I winced.  She turned her head towards me. "Tell me the story behind this!" "It's just a friendly date," I had told her, shrugging as if it was normal. "Getting to know each other." "Aw," she cooed, pouting her lips at me. "That's nice. You changed, my friend. Never would have thought that you'd have a date with Mr. CEO." "Yeah," I said, scratching the back of my neck. "Though it's just a friendly date." She began to open her mouth when I spoke. "Don't push it, Chichi." She pursed her lips and smiled at me. +++ Eclair was doing his homework when I opened his bedroom's door. He looked up at me and gave me a nod. I took that as my queue to head inside his room. I sat on his bed and he gave me a smile. "I'm grounded just so you know," he said as a smirk form on his lips.  "What have you done again this time?" I asked him, narrowing my eyes at him. He laughed and shrugged. "Just shouted at Mrs. Dawson for being such a b***h," he said casually, still laughing. "You never learn," I told him. He just shrugged again. "I want to get away from here," he said sadly. He sighed and ignored his homework.  "Then let's get away tomorrow," I said to him. "Join me tomorrow." "Sure!" "I'll tell mom. Don't worry." I said. I gave him a hug. He groaned. "You know I love you too much, little brother." "You're so gay," he mumbled, a small smile tugging on his lips. I shrugged and left him. I sent Josh a message, telling him that I'd bring Eclair with us since he needed to breath and was grounded. He replied to my text immediately, asking why I needed to bring him with us and just don't bother him and my last reply was because he's about to do s**t. His last reply to me was a simple okay. I was pretty sure he was kind of pissed. It was supposed to be our 'friendly date' and yet I had ruined it already even it hadn't even started yet. I could almost imagine him frowning and getting angry. Eclair had been going through something, and I had yet to figure it out. We didn't even have gotten a chance to talk more before mom interrupted. So I guess it had to be something. Eclair was never really quiet.  He had mentioned a girl he liked though. So he must have really like the girl. Eclair stopped doing his homework and pushed it away. I frowned at him. He needed to do his homework. He had to or else his grades would fall down. And he knew better than to let it happen. Mom and Dad would get really pissed.  That's why I needed to bring him with me tomorrow so we could talk; to continue our conversation where we had left it. Eclair took a sit beside me and sighed, a long and tired sigh. He was being quiet again, staring only at his lap. He then looked up at me and looked like he wanted to say something but didn't. Instead, he kept his mouth shut and scowled. There was really something wrong with Prince Eclair Mclane.
